About this villa rental
In the town of Piano di Sorrento, on a cliff overlooking the port and the beach, immersed in the lush vegetation of Villa Fondi and its museum, our villa is surrounded by its own private typical sorrento garden, with hundred years old pine trees, as well as palm, olive, lemon, and other fruit trees. The Villa is part of the Italian Historical Mansion Association.
The villa is made up of three floors:
Ground floor: two entrance rooms, a large 'serra' living room with stain glass windows opening onto the garden; a living room, a large dining room, a bathroom with a shower and a new fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. The garden area has ceramic floor and is furnished for your comfort.
First floor: A living room. Two large bedrooms with two single beds each. One large bedroom with a double King bed and one single bed. Two bathrooms: one with a shower and the other with a tub and shower, separated in two different rooms
Top floor (attic): a living room, two bedrooms with two single beds each, a bathroom with a tub and shower and a small and fully equipped kitchen. All the rooms open onto a large terrace with a splendid view of the gardens and the gulf of Naples.
Garage for a small/medium car. A Parking area with care-taker at only 100mt from the house, strongly suggested.
In front of the Villa a recenty renewed lift will bring you, in a few seconds, to the marina/port/beaches of Piano di Sorrento, Marina di Cassano. At the Marina you can find bars, restaurants and bathouse piers. Also, you can hire a boat for a sea-tour of Sorrento and Amalfi coast, Capri and the islands. Also ferry/hydrofoil to Capri, Napoli and other destinations are available (seasonally).
Distance from Sorrento center: about 2 km, 30 mn walking distance, 10mn by car, 15mn by bus.
Distance from Naples airport: 49km, 45 mn by car.
Distance from Rome airport Fiumicino: 253km, two and a half hours.
Distance from Sorrento port for ferrys, hydrofoils and boats to Capri, Ischia, Naples, Amalfi, Positano:20mn by bus.
Distance from train station to Pompei, Ercolano, Naples, Sorrento center:15mn walking distance.
The house will be offered in perfect conditions for weekly rentals, rather from saturday to saturday. Rent includes water, normal electricity consumption (eccess will be charged), gas, satellite tv, appliances, weekly linen and initial cleaning. Upon request, additional cleaning service of the house can be offered (€15 hour) and additional linen change (€ 15 each). Upon request typical neapolitan dinners and lunches can be prepared by our cook 'Susy', as well as your favorite meals.
Sorrento center is very special for shopping.

We were a group of 8 people staying at the villa. I had arranged the trip and was very excited to stay in a villa. You can tell that Villa Jenny in its youth had been magnificent, however currently it is in need of love, tender care, and repair. The following are my impressions.
What I liked:
1. The upstairs patio on 3rd floor is wonderful, with beautiful sea views.
2. The living room and dining room still hold wonderful old world charm with thick walls and high ceilings.
3. Vito was quick to respond to email questions which was much appreciated.
Issues:
Repairs are needed throughout villa, for example bathroom showers get floors wet and slippery, some windows do not open, etc. My major concern is that some floor tiles in bedrooms and baths on top 2 floors are cracked & broken. This is a hazard and they need to be repaired or replaced.
Advice to renters (totally optional):
The bedrooms are not equivalent. Top floor has very small rooms with sloping ceilings that you can touch with your hand. Feels like a dorm or summer camp room. 2nd floor rooms have high ceilings and windows. So the villa experience is not the same for all staying. I'd suggest not using 5 bedrooms, only using 2nd floor bedrooms (3 rooms) and keeping 3rd floor as entrance to the lovely patio.

Beautiful old property, full of character and great location. We had an excellent meal prepared by Susie and our host was always available. We had a few minor issues with the washroom on the main floor and the dishwasher and clothes washer could not be used at the same time without tripping the breaker. Good stay, thank you Vito.

This property is very unique! It is a mansion in a tropical environment! It is very spacious yet feels like home. We had all the room we needed and so much more! The most important need for my accommodation was a space to spend time with my young adult children and my two month old grandson. We had breakfasts together out in the garden! It felt like a paradise eating outside and exploring the large garden. We had two meals made by chef Rosa and they were amazing! Homemade gnocchi, chicken and pork chops, tiramisu for dessert. We also had fish and zucchini pasta and gluten free cake for dessert! My daughter is gluten free and Rosa made special accommodations for her! I had instant response from Angela who looked after all our needs. The booking was seamless and Vito helped me to organize everything we needed for the baby and while in Italy I needed a train ticket but was having difficulty booking and Vito looked after me! The whole team went out of their way to see we had a trip of a lifetime! I would definitely recommend this Beautiful villa! ♥️!

We, an extended family of eight adults and two teenagers, spent one week in Villa Jenny early November.
Our expectations were high when arriving, based on pictures and previous reviews. And in many areas those expectations were met:
- Interaction with the owner, Vito, and the caretaker, Angela, was swift and easy from start to finish.
- Rosa was wonderful, she made us breakfast, cooked us dinner and made every meal an experience.
- Francesco and his drivers were reliable, timely and friendly.
- The two bottom floors, the garden and the terrace lived up to, or in part exceeded our expectations, although time had taken its toll on some of the furniture.
That part of our experience was 5 star.
The upper floor was an entirely ”different cup of tea”. The pictures presented in the ad are accurate, but none of the 38 pictures show the bedrooms on the upper floor (apart from a glimpse of one bed in a picture showing the terrace). The rest of the pictures show the same bedrooms on the middle floor from different angles!
The entire upper floor is in need of attention, from the broken tiling to wallpaper and restoring glass doors so that the rain stays on the outside when the rain is heavy. We were woken up the last night by water literally pouring through our closed window.
To sum things up:
If you are seven people or less, all sleeping in the middle floor and just using the upper floor to get to the terrace, you are in for a lovely experience in an 18-century Italian Villa. If you are eight or more, be aware of the fact that the upper floor is of a completely different standard.

We had a wonderful time in Piano. Easy walk to the train station, and Andrea arranged a private boat tour to Capri that was the highlight of our trip. Rosa cooked us a delicious meal, definitely have her cook for you. It was very Hot, actually a heat wave, so with no air conditioning, it was pretty warm inside the villa. All our needs were addressed very quickly. A great host, property manager, and chef.

Absolutely fantastic experience in Piano Di Sorrento
I have stayed in this villa with my family and friends for 5 nights! This was an incredible treat. The photos do not do justice to this place! This is a huge house (3 levels) with sweeping views of the coast and sea perched right over the small port and beach below. The house feature an incredible garden (very large) and a rooftop deck. Right across the house is an elevator (1 EU) that will take you down to the beach and port from where you can take trips to Capri. The only negatives are the busy street (look both ways before crossing) and there is no easy place to park to load/unload your vehicle if you have one. My advice is to not rent a car. Other than that this was truly an amazing villa with unparallel views!

I search for old properties and this 1700’s Villa was great! The pictures are accurate, Marvelous glass doors, huge rooms, lots of stairs. On the upper floor you will see an amazing view of the Bay of Naples from the large top patio-Wow!
Everyday I walked through the large garden listening to the birds. At garden end there is a view of the Marina & village below.
If you can relax and accept that this Villa has wrinkles & cracks, (built when United States was just becoming a country) you can experience the feel of old world elegance.
We had Rosa cook for us.! Wonderful Sorrento style food. (We had pasta, fresh fish and salad from her garden). Just ask Angela the property manager she will assist you.
This Villa is in a small town outside Sorrento. We walked everywhere. A few minutes walk to the bakery, grocery and a daily visit for Gelato.
I enjoyed my stay and I think I fell in love with Villa Jenny.

Absolutely Fabulous Villa perfect for our getaway to the Amalfi Coast. Excellent service and our cook Rosa was delightful! She made 5 star delicious meals to include homemade pasta, veal, and fish. All meals included wine and desert! Angela checked on us and helped provide transportation and interpret as needed. This Villa had its own private garden and outdoor space which was delightful. Only wish we would have had more time to enjoy it, but we were too busy seeing the sites. Would highly recommend this lovely Villa!!!

We had a great time. Plenty of room. Rosa is an amazing cook. I wish we would have had her cook every night.

Angela manages your stay beautifully! She is very responsive and friendly. We had Rosa teach us how to make gnocchi and the poached fish she made along with her tiramisu was delicious. Her personality is just as delightful! We had three adult couples so everyone was able to have a good deal of space. The third floor would be tight for two adult couples. Their garden space is huge and it was so peaceful. There are many delicious lemons in the yard-Sorrento lemons are so juicy. My husband made lemonade that we all enjoyed. The Villa Fondi is right next door and I would recommend going there for the view and the archeological museum. The Monday street market was around the corner and was fun to go to.
I would ask for a couple of names of drivers. We had Francesco who was very reliable and he will pick you up quickly for example when we did not want to walk home in the rain after dinner. He also offered a better rate than the cabs. He took us on two days trips. However, we would probably not hire him again as he was rude. He got better when we made it clear that we were not happy. I would highly recommend this villa to stay at!

I chose this property because of it’s old world charm, but the pictures do not even do justice to the experience we all had at Villa Jenny. My daughters and my very special friend planned this trip to make my 60th Birthday wish come true! The rooms, the gardens, the rooftop views were all spectacular, but in addition we were treated like family by Vito, Emma, Francesco and Rosa who attended to every need and question. My birthday dinner was prepared by Rosa- the most delicious gnocchi I’ve ever tasted, along with fresh picked tomatoes, lettuce from the garden, bread, wine, and a very special dessert- tiramisu! I’d advise anyone to have Rosa cook for you- you will want to take her home! The villa is close to the beach, Sorrento, and was a great home base for trips to Positano, Capri, Ravello, and Ischia, which we all enjoyed with Francesco always ready to drive us wherever we needed to go.
I could go on and on, but I would rather go back to Sorrento. :)

Everything about this villa was fantastic! First, it was huge and very spacious. Only one double bed (the rest twins) so plenty of options for kids to sleep but unconventional for couples but it’s manageable. Rustic and authentic, definitely 18th century, and very unique. If you are looking for all the modern amenities this place probably isn’t for you but if you appreciate old world charm and you are adaptable, it’s a gem. Best part about the house was the large stone deck on the third floor that offers an amazing expansive view of the Bay of Naples and sunsets! The biggest challenge we faced was motivating ourselves to leave the deck to go down to the kitchen on the first floor (there is a small kitchen on the third floor where we kept our alcohol but with 5 kids we were constantly missing something). Second, the location is great if you don’t want to be buried in tourist hell. You can get to the Piano di Sorrento stop on the Circumvesuviana, and it’s a 10 minute walk to the villa (we did it with luggage). Then you can access various places from that train station including Pompeii, Sorrento, etc. So, you don’t need a car, and there isn’t anywhere to park it on the property (though there is a public lot very close by). Third, there are a few local beaches that are a 10-15 minute walk down the hill or you can take the elevator but they charge 1 euro per person and there can be lines to get down or up. So we just walked down a switchback with amazing views. The beach is quaint and there is food and drinks! It costs 5 euro per chair and umbrella, very reasonable if you compare it to Positano ($20 per person to get on most beaches). Last but certainly not least, Emma and Rosa are fantastic. Rosa is very sweet, and we had her cook for us twice and it was great. The night before our departure we learned that the circumvesuviana was going on strike (we were planning to take this to Naples so we could continue on to Siena). Both Emma and Rosa were kind enough to come to the house and help us locate a driver to get us to Naples on time and at a great price too. Overall, the experience couldn’t have been much better. This is an authentic Italy experience that represents a far preferable alternative (for us) to the hustle and bustle of Sorrento and especially Positano. Stay here, save money, and visit those places on a day trip or for dinner. Just make sure you get home for those sunset views!

Much better than our high expectations. The villa is very big, with a large garden and from the roof terrace you have a great view. The lift to the sea is just outside the entrance to the villa.Just perfect.

We had a wonderful time in Sorrento and absolutely loved Villa Jenny! The location was perfect-right across the lift to the beach and just over a mile away from the center of Sorrento. The villa itself is spectacular! There were 7 of us ranging from 10-52 years old and we had room to spare! You MUST invite Rosa to cook for you! Homemade authentic Italian meals with multiple courses of fresh food with ingredients picked from the garden out back. Francesco provided transportation from the airport and to several of our tours and was very helpful with local knowledge. Vito was extremely responsive and helpful before and during our trip. Emma was a wonderful hostess and offered support in getting around and local adventures (such as an art experience!) Overall it was our favorite family vacation to date, mostly due to the combined hospitality of this team!

This place is beautiful!
Villa Jenny is gorgeous, a ton of space on a beautiful piece of property. A little off the beaten path if you want to be in Sorrento but within walking distance to beach and everything in Piano Sorrento. Francesco is very accommodating for driving anywhere you want to go and can take you himself on a driving tour of the Amalfi coast and Pompei. He also has great recommendations for restaurants and quick places to grab a bite. Also make sure to ask Rosa to make you a traditional Italian meal. She’s a wonderful cook. Only down side to our stay was that we were traveling in April and the villa is not heated, so we made good use of heaters and blankets. I think it would have been amazing to stay here in the summer with all the windows open and the breeze coming in off the sea.

I just returned with 3 friends from a 12 day Italian adventure. We hit Rome, Florence, and finished our trip at Villa Jenny and it was absolutely perfect!
The villa is incredible...beautiful, historic, very clean and the views are breathtaking. I already miss mornings on the terrace and walking through the garden. We hired Francesco as our driver for our entire stay at Villa Jenny and that was one of the best decisions we made. He was very knowledgeable about the area around Villa Jenny, Amalfi Coast, Naples and much more! He was not only a driver, but a fantastic tour guide who took us to places that we never would have found without him. If you are staying at Villa Jenny, do not think twice about booking Francesco! We also had Rossa come over to cook dinner for us. Everything was fresh and delicious and she taught us how to make gnocchi which was a lot of fun and the best gnocchi I've ever had. I highly recommend having Rossa cook a few meals. Her cooking is much different than what you will find in the restaurants and something that everyone should experience. We had her come our last night at Villa Jenny and wish we would have had her there another night but just didn't have enough time. Emma, the house manager is great as well and very helpful. With Francesco, Rossa, Emma, and the beautiful Villa Jenny, Sorrento was the best part of our trip. Thank you Vito for all of your suggestions and a beautiful villa - everything was PERFECT!

Villa Awesome!!!
This villa is extremely awesome and cool and HUGE!!!! There are 2 bedroom areas and 3 floors. The first bedroom area is very large and good for a large group of adults. The second one is smaller, with a lower ceiling, 2 bed "rooms" 1 daybed, a nice bathroom, a breakfast kitchen , and the giant balcony!!!!!!. Quite a ways up, but great for a group of kids up to 5, 2 in each of the "rooms," 1 on the daybed. Great views, amazing garden with tons of stuff and ping-pong table, 1st floor big kitchen, nice living room + dining room. Rosa, the housekeeper, made us some gnocchi, thin meat, and tiramisu for dessert! Awesome!! Luv Rosa's cooking!!! I❤️Villa Jenny!!

Stunning Vista
We had a wonderful time at Villa Jenny this summer. The house is so grand and gives you a great sense of time gone by. The huge airy first floor with 20+ foot ceilings and beautiful stained glass is amazing. Three large bedrooms on the 2nd floor all had views and big opening windows. It was warm when we were there so we put the floor fans to work. The beds were older but still comfortable. Children stayed in the top floor which had THE BEST VIEW of Piano di Sorrento. We had fireworks two nights right from the bay! Those rooms are pretty hot to sleep in but also had fans.
The garden was huge and fun to wander in and the kids played table tennis. There is no access to the grotto at the far end but it is interesting to look down into. The elevator to the beach is right across the road 5 paces. It is a very busy street but we did not find it a problem. There are restaurants in walking distanceof the villa but the best part for us was having Rosa teach us to make gnocchi - such a fun experience. She is delightful and a great cook.
We highly recommend doing this at least once during your stay.
The only downsides of this place are the busy road, some mosquitos in the garden, no A/C, some of the antiques you need to be careful around.

“Shangri-La” in Sorrento, perched above the Bay of Naples
Our group of five adults stayed at Villa Jenny in Piano di Sorrento for two-weeks, and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel like family by the owner and the caretakers of the property. The villa, which has breathtaking views from its perch overlooking the Bay of Naples, is nothing short of stunning. We felt as if we’d been transported back in time to a bygone era, but without sacrificing the comfort of modern amenities.
The descriptions and photographs of the villa on the owner’s website are accurate, but do not capture the ambience that makes this villa so special. The living spaces are cavernous, filled with many pieces of period furnishings and decorations, and the lush gardens which surround the outside terrace make you feel as if you’ve landed in paradise.
We enjoyed several Italian meals prepared by Rosa, a delightful woman who lives near the villa, and who was always ready and willing to assist us during our stay. Emma, another charming young lady, handled the greeting and check-out process with a smile; and Mario, the gardener who does such a fabulous job tending the gardens, was always cordial and willing to chat with us.
Finally, we emphatically recommend villa guests contact Francesco Ruggiero (+39) 333 6098988, a local driver and guide, to arrange airport and local transfers in his comfortable Mercedes van. In addition, he offers reasonably-priced excursions to the Amalfi Coast, Ravello, Naples, Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Francesco’s knowledge of the Sorrentine peninsula, combined with his jovial and heart-warming personality, make him unique.
We have no reservations whatsoever about recommending Villa Jenny if you want to visit the Sorrento area. Our only regret was that we had to leave, but hopefully we’ll return to this little piece of paradise in the future.

Rare Find - a Jewel indeed!
We were two families who stayed four nights and wish we had stayed longer. We barely scratched the surface of things to see and do, and meals to have. We took two day trips one to Capri and one to Ischia - both were wonderful. We had rented a car which was completely unnecessary so left it in the garage the entire time. Next time we'd rely on Francesco who was wonderful and and drove us to Naples. The Villa is simply incredible, like walking into another time, and the past is palpable and the beauty of Sorrento framed perfectly. Vito was extremely helpful and quick to respond. We feel extremely lucky to have been able to experience the Villa Jenny.

Amazing Comfortable Villa
Wonderful stay at this charming old villa. The outside gardens are beautiful and so relaxing to either sit and enjoy or walk around looking at the different trees, flowers, vegetable gardens and the amazing view of the bay below at the far end of the property. The interior of the house was what we imagined, spacious, old furnishings, large window and doors when opened brings the outside in, charming in so many ways. Get ready to burn some calories if your sleeping on the top floor, 59 beautiful white marble steps to get there, the view however once your there is spectacular. Even though giving it five stars and a raving review the living room furniture is the most uncomfortable you will ever sit on, hopefully that room gets an upgrade soon. Highly recommend Villa Jenny. The best part however always are the people, Emma met us on our arrival and was very informative about things in the area along with contacts and phone numbers that we might need. We had Rosa cook for us three nights out of our seven night stay and we have to say those were our best meals, Rosa is a great cook and an incredible person that just wants to please anyone she serves. Always has a big smile, and makes great limoncello. If you need to get around the Amalfi coast or rides to or from the airport be sure to arrange Francesco Ruggero for all your transportation needs. He is knowledgeable of the area, knows so many people and is so passionate for what he does. Francesco will go out of his way to accomadate your every need. Villa Jenny and the people there would not disappoint you expectations. One last note, Mario the grounds keeper always has a smile and a friendly wave when you se him in the morning keeping the property in great shape.

Amazing!
My new wife and I were blessed to have her parents arrange a week at Villa Jenny during the second week of our honeymoon in Italy. They met us there along with a great family friend after our first week alone at Lake Como and Cinque Terra. We had never been to that part of Italy and Sorrento didn't disappoint.
Upon arrival at the Villa we weren't sure what to expect. The doors leading in were non descript and close to the road. The doors opened and we were transported into a glimpse of what life must have been 200 hundred years ago. The building has all modern amenities but a charm that can't be duplicated or adequately explained. We explored the house and the grounds both seeming to go on forever.
What made the experience extraordinary were the people we met. Where else to begin but with the incredible Rosa! She is a delightful soul with a huge smile and graceful manner. She cooked three amazing dinners during our weeklong stay. I can't describe how perfect everything she prepared was. From the fresh tomatoes and beans, straight from Mario's garden(we'll get to him in a second), to the fresh pasta, chicken and fish, and of course the desserts and homemade Limoncello. She made the worlds best Tiramasu. Nothing compares to that and quite frankly we Americans have no idea what that dessert even is after having Rosa's....Mario the gardener was such a delight. He takes care of the spacious grounds that abut a cliff overlooking the Bay of Naples. Such a kindly soul who works hard and appreciated us being there. My grandfather was from Sorrento and Mario was such a reminder of him....Oh yeah, and the wine was pretty awesome too!
Francesco Ruggerio is THE ONLY taxi driver for seeing Sorrento and surrounding area. His English was excellent and his knowledge of the area unmatched. We never felt in better hands than when Freddy was getting us around. My Sorrento brother!
I can't recommend Villa Jenny more highly. The accommodations were great but the people were one of a kind and made our time truly memorable.

che bella!
Villa Jenny is full of old world charm - 20' high ceilings, a grand terrace with sunset views of the bay of naples, a large garden with orange & lemon trees and seasonal vegetables... and that is only the start. its location in piano di sorrento provides the more relaxing pace of a small town, but with the Circumvesuviana (local rail) only a 10 minute walk away, you are minutes from sorrento (your gateway to capri & the amalfi coast), pompeii, and more. Add to this mix, the gracious owners (Vito & Anna Maria), Rosa the amazing in-house cook (her torta caprese is heaven on a plate and spaghetti vongole was easily the best i've had), Francesco the only driver you will want to use anywhere between Naples and Solerno (i would recommend his tour to Amalfi over a ferry ride), and Emma who will likely check you in and out. These elements are why i've made two visits to Villa Jenny and know there will be a third.

Enjoyed our stay, great location with easy access to all neighboring towns. Strongly recommend Francesco ruggiero for transportation. He is competent, knowledgable and well mannered who knows the areas extremely well. He also recommended great restaurants, shops, and places to have drinks. He has a great sense of humor and will try to assist you in any way to make your stay even more memorable. Also rosa the cook was great, lots of fun and good food. Villa jenny
Fabulous property! Incomparable. Garden is amazing Built in 1840. Most furnishings are original to the home. Rosa is a gem. She is available for catering dinner which we highly recommend. On the down side...we were asked for an undisclosed 500euro cash safety deposit upon arrival. Beds are uncomfortable and small European twins. There is no wifi or English television. As it is an old estate, many things are fragile. We were held responsible for repair cost to fix a rotten swing that fell and a broken door knob. Owners also hold renters responsible for excess electricity used during stay. Our holiday was mostly spent in the dark but we still went over the allotted amount. If you are renting anytime soon, watch the benches in the parlor. They are weak and bowed and will break very soon. If you do not want to purchase new ones, don't sit on them.

Villa Jenny and Piano di Sorrento
Our family of 6 visited Villa Jenny and Piano di Sorrento at the end of April. This was our first experience using a VRBO and visiting Italy. Villa Jenny was beyond our expectations. The large Villa is historical and makes one feel like royalty. We spent many hours on the terrace enjoying bread, cheese, and wine while we viewed the Bay of Naples, Mt. Vesuvios, and the night lights of Naples. The community is charming and gives a visitor a true sense of a small town in Italy. We walked to Sorrento and took a ferry to Capri for a day visit. Francisco gave us a day tour of Positano and Almafi. Stopping a few times to visit shops, enjoy fresh squeezed juice, and to take in some terrific views. Rosa made us a gnocchi dinner that was delicious and enjoyable. Rosa is such a delight. Emma assisted us with our check in and check out. The gardens are lovely with orange and lemon trees which had ripe fruit when we visited. We communicated a lot with Vito, and he was always quick to respond and extremely helpful. Our visit was way too short. Villa Jenny is a special place that we hope to visit again in the future. It is perfect for a larger group with its many bedrooms and bathrooms. We are walkers and loved the location. Close to restaurants, grocery store, other towns, beach, and coffee shops. We highly recommend Villa Jenny. The owners and caretakers have much pride in the lovely Villa Jenny. It is the kind of place that one has no desire to leave!
