Elegant design on the Sorrento Coast

Everything about this place was spectacular! The Gio Ponti designed hotel is an architectural and design masterpiece. The space has a wonderful sea side vibe with lots of white and blue. The gardens, the furnishings, the sea views are all amazing and we found it to be really peaceful. The staff go above and beyond with superior service and excellent food. The breakfast is expansive and has everything one could want. The cafe at the “beach” served good pizzas and other lunch options. But the restaurant, called Gio Ponti, was excellent. The chef is trying interesting things, we had dinner there twice and we loved everything they served. This is my new favorite place!

Ótimo, mas a questão do ferro é muito ruim

Hotel maravilhoso, bom café da manhã e extremamente limpo. Um defeito que considero grave (especialmente para um hotel 5 estrelas) é que não tem ferro de passar roupas! Eles alegam que é por questões de segurança, mas poderia ter uma sala para todos os hóspedes com ferro e mesa para livre serviço. Eles fornecessem apenas um serviço super faturado de lavanderia - 18€ para passar um vestidinho de praia.. abusivo!

Hote is expensive for a night stay and not worth it

The food in the restaurant was good

I find this hotel to be a 5 star is very strange as they are missing essential and basic requirements 1. No phone in the room if anything is needed you have to go down. 2. No locks on the doors very unsafe 3. Bathroom is very very slippery 4. Very loud music near by that lasted until after midnight 5. Cable next to the bed was broken 6. I booked for a sea view and paid extra and they gave us a partial sea view and when asked they were not accommodating and offered a seas view with half the size of the current room. No accommodations was provided to make up for the inconvenience. 7. Hotel is far from the city center 20 minutes walking

Stay in a museum of modernist art

Beautiful, a museum to Gio Ponti, botanical gardens and great views. A banquet at breakfast, good restaurant.

Bath tub/ shower was dangerously small and slippery. Water was tepid but not hot for bathing.

The location, view, breakfast, was all very good. loved the room decor and the fact that it was non-carpeted.

The shuttle service should be more flexible and run back and forth into town alll day and up to 11pm.

The grounds were beautiful.

The rooms on level - 2 had a bad smell. The rooms need to be renovated and the carpet in the lobby replaced. Very old.

we were unable to order an iron, as the hotel claimed that irons were prohibites in the room in order to preserve the furniture. Not a dealbreaker whatsoever.

views overlooking the bay

The staff did not seem to care about their paying guests. We stayed for two nights and the first night was awful due to a party being held at the hotel. When we checked in we were warned about the ‘pleasant musical experience’ that evening. It was anything but pleasant and we had to go down to reception to complain but all that happened was a ‘sorry’ and I’ll take your room number. It went on far too late and we had the door shut and the shutter closed. There would be no way we could have spent an evening on the balcony. When we checked out, we had to mention it and there was a soft sorry and that the music would have only been going on until midnight. The guy at reception had clearly missed our point and was totally unsympathetic. We paid a lot of money, and in our eyes and the hotel was definitely not five star. Having just spent two nights before our stay, in Amalfi which was four star, this hotel did not meet our expectations. No offer of any compensation was disappointing.

Absolutely superb

I love the location and the fact that is an original Gio Ponti project , the great architect and designer who contributed to change the history of design in Italy . Everything in this structure is designed by him and some pieces look still original . The upgrade done to preserve the identity of the structure is very well done as well .

Tub and shower are not separated and the tub is somehow uncomfortable

great location

very noisy as had sea view room below restaurants which had chairs etc being moved by cleaners at 2am every night. All floors tiled hence noise. the lift and walkways to lower area by sea pretty grubby

Poor room (deluxe suite) it would have been nice to have proper tea and coffee facilities with milk in the room. It would also have been good to have an iron.

Great location and view. However, the room often slightly smelled of sewage when I first entered. It was the same when I stayed there 10 years ago. The same case at other hotels in Italy. I presume it is the system and can't be helped.
