Loft: double bed (loft access via built in ladder)
This beautiful cedar cabin is right on the river and not only offers proximity to fly fishing but also is located in one of the largest land and wildlife preserves in the area, and only a mile from the popular Hebron Falls. Best of all, you are still just five minutes from downtown Boone and Appalachian State University. This lodge-style rustic home is perfect for families, fishing buddies or corporate groups, and has the added convenience of single level living.
The house has a large all wood living room and kitchen with cathedral ceiling, exposed beams, and lots of windows to look out on the natural surroundings. There is plenty of room for everyone to congregate for games, TV, or just enjoying each other's company while cooking. The large deck overlooks the river with outdoor dining area and large hot tub.
Wounded Fork has three bedrooms plus a sleeping loft and four baths. The master bedroom has a private bath with whirlpool tub plus a walk in shower, and a separate wing on the house holds the other two bedrooms, each with doors out onto their own deck and full bath with walk in shower. This wing of the house also has a separate entrance, gas fireplace and playroom with twin trundle daybed, foosball table and combination table with pool and air hockey.
This eclectic property has several other cozy corner rooms to retreat to and curl up with a good book, sit and daydream, or even tie your own flies in the fly fishing tie station. And if you can't get away from it all, bring it with you as there is even an office and WIFI. This office has a beautiful hand-built desk with soothing surroundings so you can work and relax at the same time.
One of the best parts of this house is that the Boone Fork of the Watauga River adjoins the property. You are allowed to fly fish or wade within the property line to the middle of the river and it offers the best fly fishing to be had. The Boone Fork is the water coming from Price Lake on the Blue Ridge Parkway, with Simms Creek, Green Branch, and Bee Tree Creek (all on Park Service Land) flowing into the Boone Fork before entering Twin Rivers. Boone Fork is the only stream in the entire Watauga River Basin that is classified as “Outstanding Resource Waters.” The NC Division of Water Quality classified the water quality of the Creek as “excellent.” The Creek also supports exemplary natural communities and a number of rare plant and animal species.
This cabin on the river truly offers a unique opportunity for solitude or solidarity in one of the most beautiful and enticing natural settings available in the High Country.

Quality of the FFE’s needs to be upgraded and or repaired. Ripped cushions on outdoor seating , missing door knobs, door falling off hinge, indifferent location of the TV in the living room … upgraded furniture/recliners would be nice 2 bathroom sinks do not drain 2 chairs by the fire pit are broken .. home smelled of mold
But beautiful home great setting fantastic creek sounds / view Easily accessible kitchen well stocked with enough dishes pots and pans

We were unable to stay at the property due to a strong ammonia smell through the home. It made members of my family physically sick. The property was beautiful. The management company was quick to respond and they put us in another property that was even better. It was not an ideal start to our vacation, but they were quick to resolve.

We enjoyed being on the Twin Forks river and the large home for our family. Weather was varied which added to our trip. Quiet location.

I really can't commit on this property. We did rent it out.... but on our way to the property about 2 1/2 hours on our 4 hour drive I got a call saying the heat wasn't working and they had to find us another house similar to this one. Let me tell you...this momma's world went crashing in a matter of seconds because I thought Christmas was going to be ruined!

Great location, very clean. Property manager friendly and easy to work with.

Rental company is great, cabin was dusty, dirty dishes in cabinet, and couldn’t walk on floor barefoot without bottom of feet being black. Love the river, beautiful quiet location, all the room was great!
4.3
The scenery was beautiful. The cabin was dated but adequate for our group. The master bathroom had black mold on the ceiling, there were long black hair from previous renters stuck on the shower walls. The mini fridge in the game room had mold in it. The pull out bed was covered in crumbs and peanut shells. Cobwebs were in the shower and in the corners of home. Outside chairs were broken. Step leading to stream was broken. Refrigerator was dirty as was the oven. Also, the entire week we were there, when sitting on the back deck there was an awful rotting smell. But the best was being given the finger by a gentleman in a red pick up truck because we happened to be leaving out of the dirt road as he was coming in very dangerously! This same red truck was later spotted parked by the chapel.

What a lovely property ! Right on the river and so calm and serene .

We loved the house just a few things I will point out.
1. The bathroom off the dining room door knob does not work and grandson got locked in.
2. Water was turned off to the dishwasher
3. Trash can lid locks do not work. Trash was left in (not ours) and bears came at 2am first night. Need better way to secure trash from bears.
4. A folder of places to go and places to eat would be good. We found some places on the way out, took us right at the dog place and had no clue there were restaurants that way that looked really cool
Fishing was awesome
We loved the seclusion of the house
Overall it was a great experience and we will recommend to our friends that are heading that direction.

We had a great time at Wounded Fork!! It was so spacious and had a great view of the river. There were six of us, so we all had plenty of room and one twin bed to spare. We went to Beech Mountain to go skiing and it was only 25 mins away. I highly recommend it!

We had a fantastic stay at Wounded Fork with our entire family!

We really enjoyed our stay at Wounded Fork. Getting to the property was a little weird but once we got there it was wonderful. I liked how private it was and quiet. It was so nice to sit by the stream and just listen to the water going by. The house was clean and very roomy. The location was very convenient to everything we wanted to do. Went to Grandfather Mt., traveled the parkway, and went to Blowing Rock. We had a little trouble with the heater but great communication and it was dealt with quickly. We would definitely love to stay here again.

this property is very remote...be aware 4 wheel drive is useful even in summer. Odd layout and needed some repairs....especially to deck spindles...many rotted out. some rooms had so many light switches it was confusing...master bath had 6! beds were comfortable. overall stay was good.

This property is a good property if you don’t care about having much of a “view”. The stream running behind the house is beautiful but that’s really all you have for a view. The house has plenty of room for our crowd. When we arrived it smelled musty as if it it hadn’t been rented for a while. There was trash in the yard when we arrived and a dead bird greeted us at the front door. The inside was not as clean as we had hoped. Honestly not sure it had been cleaned before arrival. There were several light bulbs that were blown and had not been changed out.
The communication with the property management was great. They called to let us know that the washer wasn’t working on the day of arrival but they brought in a new one the ver next day. They were great to work with.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and we will use Blue Ridge Rentals again but will choose a different location next time.

Family vacation
Location was great If you are looking for off th e beaten path. The stream behind was nice, but there are a lot of restrictions to fishing, we went 10 ft too far up the stream and had people up stream yelling at us that we’ve gone too far. Other than that, it was nice...a very unique home with a very different layout. Slept 11 easily.

Location is a beauty!! We loved our stay! The house is beautiful and it held our party of 12 (ages 4-40) with no problem, enough to sleep all of us and a lot of space to not feel cramped. The creek was awesome and refreshing. We loved our stay and have never booked with VRBO or any vacations rental and this was a great process and start.
Praying that we can come back for Christmas!!
Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your home.
We are refreshed, rejuvenated and Rested.
From the Big Island of Hawai'i and currently Greensboro----> Mahalo! THANK YOU😌

Everyone in my group thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. It was conveniently located, while managing to feel removed from the hustle and bustle of town. The river view was enchanting. This is definitively our favorite place that we have stayed in the Boone area.

We loved this cabin so much! It had everything we could want: hot tub, large back patio, grill, great view, and plenty of room for all 10 of us. We really enjoyed our stay. Only downsides: (1) It's a little hard to find since it is off the beaten path, (2) I recommend washing the dishes since many of them were dirty, and (3) the kitchen isn't organized well making it hard to find things. Other than those small potatoes, highly recommend this place!

Great Place for A Family Get Away
Property was clean and well apportioned. There was more than enough room for our family of 5 (2 parents and 3 kids). Everyone was able to have their own space, and this property would be perfect for families or couples groups traveling together, as there are 2 separate wings with a living area/kitchen in the middle. Its not the easiest place to find at night but the GPS on our smart phone and the property managers directions got us there. The location is peaceful right on the river and close to Banner Elk, Blowing Rock and Boone, but far enough away to get out of the hustle and bustle of those towns. The outside patio and the deck on the river are perfect places to relax and unwind, it was a bit chilly during our stay so we could have spent more time outside. The stretch of river out back is quite nice, and had some fishy looking water. We did not do any fishing due to the weather, but it would be recommended for anyone who wants to fish to get familiar with NC licensing and stream access . Overall a great home and a great weekend with the family.

Wonderful weekend away during peak leaf season
We had such a wonderful time in this beautiful location! We couldn’t have asked for more. However, I think people should be warned that you need decent clearance on your car as my Prius couldn’t make it and another in our group cracked her front a rear bumper. Also, it was very difficult to find in the dark. Overall, 5 stars though!!

Golf Trippers
Being on the river was great. Not the easiest place to find, but it was in a great location for the public golf courses in the Boone area.
