About this house rental
The Larsen House is perfectly located for guest that like everything surrounding them, beaches, kayak rental, marina, shops, dining, night life, concerts, groceries, bakeries, and all is in walking distance.
Golf Courses, Parks, Music Festivals, Outdoor Theater and so much more is a few minutes or short drive away.
Our home has had much remodeling done 2013, refinish maple hardwood floors, new full bathroom, interior freshly painted, two new windows, new beds and furniture, much more. We have central air conditioning and a new wall mounted 50' HDTV Directv and a BluRay Player!
New outdoor furniture and charcoal grill in a big back yard for your use as well a Big Fire Pit.
And to me, one of the most important parts of a vacation rental is cleanliness. Our home will go through a rigorous cleaning and fresh sheets put on all 3 beds prior every check-in. 2023 The Larsen house has completed several upgrades. Spring cleaning is complete, new steel door with programmable lock, internet upgrade , new kitchen sink, new curtains including the bathroom window, paint and flooring in entry way/mud room , and a new living room couch as well many detail items! The upstairs is not advertised , it’s just empty space with an emergency 1/2 bath, it’s clean and useful. The Larsen House is a value at it’s very low nightly rate! We were able to walk downtown, walk to breweries,etc. One Barrell had great beer, pizza and fun vibe.

Place was definitely clean and everything worked…parking in driveway convenient for our one vehicle.house is on main road into town (and beyond) not noisy but not quiet a bit “exposed” to the world passing by…
Furnishings & rooms much more dated than most rentals- living room has newer couches and brand new seeming tv but is quite small for 4 adults to visit comfortably-

The property suited our needs for a place to stay during our sister’s trip to Door County. The accommodations were lacking in things other VRBO host provide. We like to cook some of our own meals the kitchen was lacking in many cooking tools including lids to skillets and pots, no seasonings, foil, ziplock bags, utensil and silverware were old and outdated as where the glassware. In past VRBO’s we’ve stayed in will provide simple hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, and body soap this place did not. However, we did have 2 simple issues where we reached out to the host who responded quickly and remedied the minor problems. There were Silverfish bugs in the house but only a few. The best part is everything was in walking distance in Egg Harbor. If you want a tech free trip this is the place, the wi-fi was weak, spotty and would kick you off. With 4 people using cell phones it was impossible for all of us to be on our phones at the same time. Our charged phones and watches would drain quickly as they were always searching for internet connection. For the price per night, I would expect more. If the above issues are corrected we will come back.

This house is oddly divided with the front door in one of the bedrooms. The place was pretty dirty with dead insects inside the kitchen storm window and pretty dank air coming up from the basement. The only bathroom sink was so slow to drain we all brushed our teeth and washed up in the kitchen. There was an infestation of earwigs (bugs) that were in our bed! There is an upstairs that is unfinished and pretty scary. For the price I would look elsewhere.

Perfect location for exploring the entire peninsula, all the way to the tip. Great spot for the pumpkin patch, wineries, local shops and hiking.
The house was a perfect size for the 4 of us, we each had our own room and a bathroom, we did have to purchase our own toilet paper as their was only one roll in the house between the two bathrooms. The fire pit in the back would have been perfect if the weather cooperates, I would 100% stay in this location again for our next trip!

This was a great little house for the three of us. It was set up well and is in the perfect location for walking to the shops, restaurants, brewery, marina, etc. in Egg Harbor. We really enjoyed our stay!

Paul, thanks for your help with everything. This is an ideal location within walking distance to restaurants, bars, and even a great distillery. The grocery store is only two blocks away - much easier than lugging your stuff upstairs through a motel. Nice having a working kitchen as an option for a light breakfast or lunch so you don’t have to go out for every meal. Will be back next year.

We had a great spot here for our 3 generation vacation! Nice spot for reading and playing games and setting down after shopping and listening to music.

Quaint older house with an odd layout and squeaky floor but don’t overlook this place. Very clean and well kept and the location just can’t be beat. If you can walk 7/10 of a mile you can hit most everything thing Egg Harbor offers and some of the best places are only a few blocks away. Great stay and we will book again if we decide to stay in Egg Harbor again

The 1/2 bath had no baseboards, a corroded drain, we had to screw in lightbulb to turn on light, and it was accessed thru unfinished upper level with ceiling plaster on the floor. The kitchen light fixture was a bare lightbulb. Living room couch was sagging and uncomfortable. Dining table had pads, but no table cloth. Windows were in dire need of a wash. Bathroom window had no curtain. While location was excellent, the whole place needed attention.

This place was just what we were looking for during our visit to Egg Harbor. While the home is older, it was clean and well kept. The home was furnished with plenty of towels, dishes, pans, etc.
The location is excellent! It was an easy walk to the market, restaurants, distillery, brewery and even the Harbor View Park and Marina.
The communication with the property owners was great. We especially appreciated the door code being set to our phone number. This lock eliminated the need to keep track of keys and having the lock set to our number made it easy for all to remember.
Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a basic place to stay in a great location!

This experience was the first time for us. We would definitely do it again. The Larsen house was an amazing choice. Perfect location and house was very comfortable. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Thank you for making our 1st time to Door County a getaway to remember.

This is the cutest house and is in such a great location. We loved it. The only suggestion that we have is adding blinds in the dinning room/kitchen for privacy with the new cabin behind and with keeping the sun out for AC.

This property has so much potential. The property location is awesome – just on the edge of town and within walking distance of everything. Nice backyard with a fire pit, chairs and table. (Wood and kindling is supplied) Great front porch for morning coffee where you can watch the tourists drive by. Amazingly quiet inside the house – you can’t hear any traffic. Small but cute old house with nice wood floors. Good working shower – very hot water.
Now the “buts”. Do not depend on the half bath – it really should not be advertised as usable at this point. It’s located in the unfinished second level up a steep set of stairs. The bathroom itself is in rough shape. No AC up there. Light switch doesn’t work – turn on the light by screwing in the lightbulb. Weird pile of stained old mattresses in an upstairs unused bedroom. If you value cleanliness, you’re best to find somewhere else to stay. While neat and picked up at first glance…it really needs a deep clean – especially the corners, woodwork edges, area behind the door in the bathroom, and air vents.
This property is bare bones. It doesn’t have the usual charming “hotel-like” touches or décor of most VRBO rentals we’ve been in. While dishes and linens were brand new at the time of writing the property listing, everything is well-used at this point. It’s time for new towels, shower curtain, and bath mat. More shelves and hooks would be really helpful in the small bedrooms and bathroom so there’s a place to put your things. No dishwasher. (as expected from listing...but would be so nice.)
For this price, you could have a hotel room that gets cleaned daily.

Getting to and checking in was a breeze! Cabin is old but beds seemed new and we’re very comfortable. Bathroom had great water pressure and was clean. Plenty of towels are available and bedding is nice.
Living room is small but fine for 4 people. You def hear the buzz of being right on 42 but it’s not bad and we live in Chicago so we’re probably used to it.
The location can’t be beat. Walking distance to some great restaurants and pubs.
Downside: Quite a few ants were killed during our stay on the kitchen counters and floor. Kitchen is old but we ate out most of the time so didn’t really matter that there’s no dishwasher.
Overall, good for a few nights if you want to eat out and walk into town easily/aren’t looking for a remote quiet place.

The property isnt a fancy place but very homey and close to everything. The place was clean and the beds were excellent! There seems to be alot of construction going all around this tiny home but we never really saw anybody working. The best part of this home was the location because we were able to walk to dining in the evening and not worry about parking or who would have to drive. Do take note - it is not fancy but it worked great for three friends for a few days in Door.

Four friends enjoying a concert at DCA and a bonus day exploring beautiful Door County. Easy checking, loved the porch with view of historic church directly across the street. Beds were comfortable, would definitely return. A few things that could use “tweaking” would be to add wash clothes to the towels that were furnished, and to line the kitchen drawers and cabinets with some shelf paper. But overall, a nice place to spend a couple days with friends!

Great location for most Door County attractions, and worked perfectly for us. Plenty of room, especially if only 2-3 people staying. Really enjoyed the comfortable TV room for watching the Olympics in the evenings. Perhaps a little pricey for being a bit on the rustic side, but we do understand supply and demand. :)

The Larsen house was a perfect location for our stay for the Door County triathlon. Easy bike ride to Murphy park and walk to everything else in Egg Harbor.
Had to make an early morning run for toilet paper as there were no extra rolls available. Definitely not a deal breaker, but seems like this would be an essential that would be well stocked in any rental. Paul did drop some rolls by a few hours later as requested which was much appreciated.
The property does have new windows as noted, but most are large, single pane windows that don't open. I would have preferred open windows at night to feel those cool Door county breezes, but needed to use the air conditioning instead. A personal preference for sure.
As noted by others, the backyard pictures in the post have not been updated to reflect the new construction. The fire pit and grill are wonderful, just note that there is now a large, new house under construction that is a backdrop to that area.
Our group found random goldfish crackers scattered about on the floor, and a dried contact lens on the coffee table. Odd items to miss during the thorough cleaning process. But other than that, the house was very clean.
We loved the front sitting area, and loved the off street parking for stashing all of our stuff!
