About this villa rental
Casa Anita is a luxurious and inviting villa, with very comfortable furnishings, beautiful arches and columns that accent the main floor and surround a nice central pool and fountain. It is unique in the heart of Granada within 3 blocks of Central Park with all that it has to offer, such as Dining, Night Life, Shopping and Museums, just to mention a few.
There are two luxurious bedrooms upstairs that have ample space, very comfortable queen size beds, TV's with cable, air-conditioning and each have on-suite baths.
Mild temperatures, blue skies spotted with white clouds, the sound of dove and Kiskadee, and an occasional glimpse of parrots just off the upstairs balcony. The sound of horse hooves on the cobble stone streets, the aroma of breakfast cooking at one of the local restaurants around the corner....all while enjoying a cup of locally grown coffee. This is just one morning in the real everyday world at Casa Anita.
No trip to Nicaragua is complete without a trip to Granada to experience the warmth and hospitalility of it's people, and culture. It is a relaxed and easy pace where schedules and agendas are almost non-existant. You can leave your watch at home. A horse drawn carriage is just the right pace for taking in all of the historic sites, some of which date back to 1524, when Granada was founded.
Just a few blocks past Central Park and you will find Lake Nicaragua (7th largest lake in the world) where boat tours are available to explore some of the 365 islands and habitats formed by the Mombacho Volcanic eruption from over 20,000 years ago. Now dormant, Mombacho reserve is mostly covered by a mystical cloud forest. Tours are available for the adventurous at heart.
The villa comes equipped with soap, toilet paper, house-keeper 6 days per week and hot water on demand, which means you never run out!

Casa Anita is a beautiful little house, ideal for couples or small families. The housekeeper, Martina, is wonderful and keeps the house lovingly clean and maintained. Elizabeth at GPS is so easy to deal with and took very good care of us.
The only drawback to the house is that it is on a busy street with lots of car, motorcycle and horse drawn cart traffic, from about 6:30am to 5:30pm, though we got used to it fairly quickly.
Granada was interesting with lots of good restaurants, nice buildings and a large central park, though it is hot during the day, so the pool at the house was glorious to come home to.

Casa Anita is an incredible place, an oasis in the middle of a busy but beautiful city, totally private and secure. The spanish colonial charm is all there, with columns, indoor plunge pool, fountain, plantings, open sky above the pool and atrium, decorative tiles, all held together with appropriate period furnishings. We were greeted by the maid (who is wonderful) and GPS property agent, who explained everything and were very helpfull. There was a problem with the fridge which was repaired immediately. The location is central and near all the best restaurants, markets and sights the city has to offer. Don't drive here – traffic is terrible and the signage is practically non existent - you can park your car in several nearby garages very cheaply – we were here for 5 days and never needed to use ours.
Booked Danny's Tours through Elizabeth at GPS. Excellent tour guide. Great trip. Would highly recommend staying here.

Our little family of three rented this house for a month and had the most wonderful time. Nice location, walkable to central Granada. Comfortable accommodations. Our 5yo swam at least twice a day in the pool. The kitchen was well stocked, the property management company very helpful. So glad we had the opportunity to unwind.

If considering a hotel, and this property is available, you are crazy not to book it. It is far superior, and less expensive, than the nicest suite you will find anywhere. But if spaciousness is a priority, or if you think your gatherings of friends may get a bit rowdy, you probably should consider a large and more insulated colonial home. Regardless, the architecture is really cool as is the pool, management and the owner are attentive and responsive, it has a fine location, so subject to the above caveats, I definitely recommend it.

Casa Anita
This is a great home away from home. It had everything we needed and more. We loved having the pool to cool off in the afternoons and evening upon returning from our outings. It was also just a short walk to the Calzada where we went to eat most nights. We hope to come back next year.

In Love With Casa Anita
This fairytale colonial home was perfect for our 5 night visit to Granada. The casa looks just like its photos. It is beautifully furnished, clean, and comfortable. we found the neighborhood to be perfect for walking everywhere in Granada. In fact, one of our favorite restaurants was only 2 blocks away. We also felt very safe at all times. Elizabeth, the property manager, provided excellent communication and the housekeeper was very friendly. We were simply thrilled with this enchanting casa and especially enjoyed the dipping pool, on hot nights We hope to return one day to this friendly city and the first place we'd want to book is the jewel of the city, Casa Anita.

Oasis in Grenada
I can't imagine anyone entering this hidden gem of a home, and not having their jaw hit the ground in amazement. The home is stunning! Dramatic archways, tiling, fountain and pool in an open atrium, with wrought iron railings and 'Juliette' balconies. Gorgeous home! Central, secure and conveniently located near the central park. Property manager was super helpful, check in and out were flawless.
Highly recommend staying in this magical place.

Fantastic!
We had a fantastic 4 day stay at Casa Anita during our fifth visit to Granada. Casa Anita is very beautiful oasis of tranquility, just a 5-minute walk from the central square. During the mornings we enjoyed breakfast at nearby Garden Café, and had great adventures walking around the city, taking a horse carriage ride, touring Las Isletas and exploring the nearby markets. Be sure to visit Mansion de Chocolate Spa during your visit to Granada.
Set around a small dipping pool, with 2 air-conditioned bedrooms upstairs, Casa Anita offers sanctuary form the humid afternoon heat. Loved to take a plunge in the pool when we came home tired and hot.
The living area and kitchen are open concept and provide a beautiful backdrop for
cooking in the fully stocked kitchen.
Just keep an eye on the electricity if you are there for a longer stay as it can get expensive.
The best thing about visiting Nicaragua is the people and the culture.
We enjoyed our stay Casa Anita; the owner Anita was very helpful and easily accessible at all times. We are very grateful to her. We’ll be sure to come back to Casa Anita, and we recommend it! Te gustara mucho.

Casa Anita is perfectly located, about a 5 minute walk from the main square. The house itself offers a welcome respite from the hectic streets, and the pool is perfect for cooling down in the stifling heat. The house is exactly as the photos portray, set around a small dipping pool, with 2 air conditioned bedrooms upstairs. Both rooms are on suite, but they only have queen beds which for a 6’4” guy are incredibly small for 2people. The living area is perfect, surrounding the pool, with overhead fans but also open air above the pool. The kitchen is fully stocked, including fresh local coffee and coffee maker. A grocery store is close by(turn left out front door and it is 400m down the road on the left). This is an ideal place for a couple, maybe plus a child. The only negatives are the small beds and the road noise. The master is against the street so I highly recommend ear plugs. Granada wakes early so be prepared!Great place. Well situated and well looked after. Beautiful!

Casa Anita Jan.2018
Our family of 4 stayed at Casa Anita for a full week and simply LOVE it! The house is stunning and our girls 12 and 9 had an awesome time swimming every day! The staff was professional, detailed, kind and very helpful. Amy came everyday to clean and did an excellent job. We felt safe and comfortable at ALL times. Definitely made our time in Nicaragua that much enjoyable. Would most definitely go there again! Great for a single family or 2 couples. Very affordable and great location!

Wonderful, clean, convenient
Loved this property - beautifully furnished and maintained. An easy walk to restaurants and many interesting sites. Would definitely stay here again, couldn't think of anything that was lacking. Anna the housekeeper was wonderful.

Beautiful and unique!
We stayed 5 days in July 2017. The house was beautiful. Open roof above the pool. Very clean, two great bedrooms and bathrooms. Very close to everything in downtown Granada. Francisco picked us up from the airport and remained our amazing tour guide the entire time we were there! GPS staff were extremely helpful and accommodating and their office is 5 min walk from the house. Best vacation ever! ❤️

Very comfortable house
Great two bedroom house fully functional and equipped. Really wonderful with tons of towels, washer and dryer. Slightly smaller than it appears in the photos but still super nice. It's about 3.5 blocks from the main square/park and one-two more from the recommended restaurants. It's an easy walk though and you couldn't get this house in the middle of the nightlife area for this price. If I could change anything it would be upgrading the sound system to accept Bluetooth or at least an AUX in cable (to play your favorite music off your gadgets) and a main bathroom shower head that helps with the weak water pressure but both of these are petty comments and wouldn't change my decision to stay in this great little house! Always felt safe in the area despite it having a local feel and the management team was always available for us. Wifi worked fine and was particularly good upstairs and running AC in the bedrooms during the night didn't put our electric bill over the limit included in the rent. You can't beat this deal!

Beautiful and cozy home! We had an incredible experience. Do not hesitate to book this property for your vacation in Nicaragua. GPS and Mrs. Anita Worrell have been very helpful and more importantly welcoming. Thank you, for everything!

Casa Anita
The home was amazing, the pool was the perfect size for a quick swim to cool off. The inside was beautiful, and the home was perfectly situated in the town so you could walk to everything but it was still quiet at night. I definitely recommend staying here.

Home Away from Home in Granada
This was my first experience with booking through VRBO, and I could not have been happier. I arranged an airport pickup through the property management company, GPS, and my friend and I were picked up by Francisco, who also had our house keys and gave us a quick tour on arrival. The house is absolutely beautiful. We loved the pool, which was great for cooling off after a day of wandering around Granada. There is a water cooler of purified water for drinking. The house is perfectly located just a couple of blocks from Merced church, and then a quick shot down to the main park and the tourist zone. The first night, the air conditioner was not working in one of the bedrooms (but a fan was available). The next day, we stopped at the GPS office, and that afternoon, someone came to the house and fixed it. This house was absolutely perfect for a couple of friends traveling together, and a very economical option as opposed to a hotel. I was very sorry to leave this house and I would definitely book it again!!! Helpful hint: The power goes out quite often in Granada, so bring a small flashlight. In the evening, if the power went out, we would stand a flashlight up in a glass - instant lantern!

Beautiful Home
We loved our stay at Casa Anita. It was located within walking distance to restaurants, stores, and the beautiful churches in Granada. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking, the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels everywhere. This home is so unique and beautiful. It was amazing to swim in the pool and look up into the sky. I would highly recommend this place.

Beautiful home with a great location
My husband and I recently traveled to Nicaragua and stayed in Granada for 5 days. We had booked Casa Anita without doing much research about the city. Luckily, Casa Anita did not disappoint. The location was perfect! Within a 5 minute walk of the Central Park, great restaurants and bars. The house had everything we needed, including a blender to enjoy the fresh fruit that is sold on every street corner and Flour de Cana. The pool was also extremely useful for the the humid weather. Definitely recommend!

Great space and location for two couples.
House is attractive, with nice artistic touches. Works well for two couples (each couple has private bath, comfortable bed, and enough space). Bed linens were in good shape, decent towels. WiFi worked well, nice big table, love seat and couch comfortable. Kitchen is small, but adequate for breakfasts, snacks and simple cooking. Lots of good restaurant options in Granada, so this was fine. Loved the plunge pool when we came home tired and hot. Location was good - close to groceries, market, restaurants, yoga... We would come back.

Lovely gem of a home in a great location!
We loved staying here! It's a beautiful home and we felt spoiled living here for two weeks! It's perfect for four people - you have plenty of room. The pool was just wonderful and there are plenty of fans to keep you cool, and the A/C in the bedrooms is so nice to have. Just keep an eye on the electricity if you are there for a longer stay as it can get expensive (although this is the case everywhere in Nicaragua). And you can walk everywhere - we had fun at the ChocoMuseo and walk to the top of Iglesia Merced which is right near the house and has a great view. We would come back here in a heartbeat and would highly recommend it!

Absolute Nightmare & Very Dishonest Management Co
Do not use this company that is employed by this Owner!
Our problems actually started upon securing the home through GPS. I was sent a contract for our reservation that had the incorrect dates and number of people. I sent an email asking them to correct it and was told they "accidentally sent this with the other persons dates". I now see that this just set the foundation of what followed: Our ordeal started when we could not get a Ferry off Ometepe Island and delayed our check in at Casa Anita at the 12:00 noon. It was a Sunday and I was given a contact person that was to meet us at the house that was an English speaking person by the name of (Ms. Blanca) and a phone number of 8995-5xxx. Immediately, I tried calling the number to inform them of our delay and had to leave a message on both her number as well as me calling the GPS office and leaving a message there as well. When we arrived in our rented 4x4 we were met by a young man that was in his mid 20's and spoke no English. Knowing we would have a Truck due to prior travels throughout Nicaragua, I had ask in previous emails about the parking of the truck. I was told it was not advisable to leave the truck in front of the house and to utilize the Parking Garage or you could get the security guy that is up the street to watch the truck for a few dollars. Upon checking in we tried to ask the guy that checked us in where to park our truck. He kept pointing at the curb and giving a thumbs up saying OK.. I ask 3 times knowing we were told not to leave our truck in front of the Casa Anita and after no avail we tried calling all 6 numbers in the instruction book in the house and in my check in instructions. None of the numbers worked not even the emergency ones as the English one had been disconnected that was listed in the book. The instruction book in the house ONLY references a Parking Garage, but gives no directions where or how to find it. We knew we had no choice but to try and walk to the GPS office as well as find the parking options.( Not advisable to drive in Granada especially when you just arrived and have no idea where you are going.) We locked up the house and left at 4:30pm (Still daylight) to find the parking options. We were only gone for 1.5 hours and upon arriving unsuccessfully reaching anyone at the GPS office or finding the parking options we see that the mirrors on the truck had both been stolen. magical, and absolutely perfect on all levels!!!
We decided to do a very last minute trip to Nicaragua and chose Casa Anita as a first base and then travel on to stay on the coast and other places.....instead we extended our stay....twice! and then we stays the whole time. Anita was a perfect host and the team at the managing company answered each and every one of our many questions with patience, joy and knowledge. The casa is spotless, perfectly organized and very well equipped.....and the small indoor pool was soooo perfect to wake up in and to soak after a day of excitement every evening - our 5yo couldn't be any happier. Kayme, the daily cleaning person, very much deserved our farewell hugs as well and now, only hours after arriving back home again we already miss our heavenly oasis in the beautiful town of Granada.

We stayed at Casa Anita early May for 3 nights. What a beautiful home right in the middle of Granada. Walking distance to all attractions and the pool provides a relief from the hot Afternoon sun. Anita and her husband happened to be there and they were so helpful and lovely. The only issue was the AC in the guest bedroom was broken what Anita thought it had been fixed (it happens) and my room was pretty hot. Just make sure the AC is fixed before you book. The gouse is gorgeous! And the town is charming and wonderful. The GPS staff was very helpful and friendly. Do not be alarmed by the dark street at night it is perfectly safe, only feels a bit unsafe when you first arrive as would anywhere in the town especially since it is on an alleyway. It is a wonderful home and I would stay again and reccomend to anyone!
