Really great property, well maintained and clean. Loved the dock and the lake. Kitchen and screened in porch were great for family time. The ceiling fans in all the bedrooms kept everyone nice and comfortable with the Maine air wafting in through the large screened windows. Location was an easy drive to everything the island has to offer.

We had a great trip that included dad (me) and daughter, my friends and their two kids plus a close friend of ours for several of the days. The weather outlook was mostly rain, but it ended up being sunny almost the entire trip which was amazing. The house is huge and beautiful; the pictures do not do it justice. It’s better than advertised even. We rented kayaks which are easy to put in/out at the house access. We got fishing licenses and caught fish constantly, including 3 bass each approaching 20 inches. (We threw them all back.) The house is the perfect combination of remote/private but also just short drives to the good hiking. If you are looking for water/coastal hikes that aren’t super crowded (or at least weren’t for us), I’d totally recommend the ship harbor trail and especially the schooner head overlook trail. The latter was just a random stop we made on our last day and wowza, what a view! It even includes a coastal cave you can get into. We hadn’t seen that talked about anywhere when planning our hikes, and it was awesome. We also really liked the food at MDI Lobster Pound. Anyway, the trip was awesome and the house was great. The only thing I might suggest (so that it doesn’t seem like I am friends with the owner or something haha) is that at least when we were there it got quite warm during day time (mid July) so you might want to bring an extra fan. The house is really really nice. Great trip!

Beautiful, modern home on the quiet side of Acadia National Park. There were four women with plenty of space. Could use more outdoor seating for larger parties. Extremely quiet, star filled sky, and loons! After climbing, it was wonderful to come back to a peaceful place.

Well situated on island, off the road, great living space, and en-suite baths for most bedrooms. Wonderful for adult group who wants both time together and apart. Lots of lake frontage but unfortunately not visible from deck due to overgrowth. Recommend bringing folding chairs for water views.

We loved the openness of this home and all the windows that provided great views of the outdoors to us as we were snuggled up inside. This home was spotless and fully equipped. It was perfect to come home to after a great day of hiking!

Thanks for letting us stay in your truly beautiful home. As other reviewers said, pictures do not do it justice. The house is the perfect combination of modern comfort. We loved visiting the busy park knowing we could return to our own private slice of nature. The red Adirondack chair by the pond is a really special spot. Thanks, Marsha for sharing your special home with us.

Marsha's home was great. As another reviewer said, the pictures don't do it justice! the layout was great for our two families - 4 adults and four kids total for two weeks. Plenty of space for everyone. Everyone loved hanging out by the lake during the day and on the screened porch at night.
If visiting Acadia, this is definitely the side of the island you want to be on. Bar Harbor gets busy - but this side of the island is just what the locals call it - the Quiet Side. Would definitely recommend this house.

The field in the front of the house reminded me of a Klimt painting. A grass covered path to Seal Cove where are Kayaks stayed, to kayak at a moments notice. Sightings: an Eagle catching a fish, a beaver swimming by the dock, Loons (not only their calls, but a Loon couple with two babies. The house itself - architecturally beautiful! What more could you ask, other than the perfect spot to spend with those you love.

We had a great time at the house. It is close to all activities in Acadia. The house was clean and had all amenities required for the stay. We will definitely be back !

This is an excellent place to stay. It was quiet and private, and a short drive to all the places we wanted to go. The house had everything we needed to cook in, plenty of space for everyone to eat together and relax in the house. The deck out back was large, and the ADK chairs (with footrests!) were perfect. There is a beautiful view of the lake and trees from the deck and the dock was just a short walk. The tree swing was a great find as we had kids with us. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the bathrooms were amazing. Everything is beautifully decorated but comfortable to live in. Marsha was quick to respond to all questions. We would definitely stay here again!

This place is a true gem! That honestly is all I need to say. It is even prettier and stylish than the pictures, and the grounds and the lake behind make it magical. Mine is a large family, hence we had parents, and kids aged 12, 10 and 2. We stayed here for 4 nights and everyone loved it. The amenities are A+, location perfect to get to Acadia in minutes, and it is secluded enough to enjoy the forest without any neighbors visible. My sons who are raised in the burbs of Philly saw the Milky Way for the first time and that alone was worth the price of admission. My father-in-law was beaming cheek to cheek after we walked to visit the car museum down the street. Wish we had brought/rented kayaks, but it would've been a tad chilly for kids on the water. If you go in warmer weather, definitely give that a try. All in all, a very happy and relaxing time with the family in impressive digs. What more can one ask for! Thank you, Marsha!!!

The 6 of us had an awesome time in this quiet, classy home on the shores of Seal Cove pond. Good location on the quiet side of Mt. Desert. Well stocked kitchen, working fireplace and beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms. Can be difficult to find in the dark as the house number is set off the road on a bent metal rectangle, but otherwise perfect!

The photos on this listing do NOT do it justice. Being unfamiliar with the area, we did miss the lane that leads to the residence, but once we found it and entered we could not have been more pleased. It accomplishes the tricky problem of blending edginess (mid century modern and a little warm industrial) with a sense of coziness. The fireplace, the lighting, the comfortable beds, the modern and plentiful appliances and utensils, and space to spread out, along with the magical setting close to a lake where we watched beavers ambitiously swim and take down a tree, and relaxed on a hammock at waters edge were perfect! It was hard for us to leave to explore the area given that all of us felt so at home. The abundance of large windows display an awe inspiring view of nature and the lake, even giving us a final day display of a snowy fairytale land! Marsha was very accommodating (and has EXEMPLARY taste). If we had any suggestions it would be for a more comfy sofa, less noisy dining chairs and storage in the two larger bedrooms. But if these tiny issues are a problem for you in the scope of this beauty, sorry, but you probably can't be made happy. (lol) We didn't want to leave (One of us dropped a couple tears and it wasn't a woman. lol) Thank you, Marsha! From all 4 of us! I hope you will reach out to me for numerous photos I took of the place, to better describe your beautiful home. You need to up your rates!

In the past, we visited Acadia in July and August. This year, we came after Labor Day and enjoyed the late summer weather without the crowds. We loved the cottage’s modern aesthetic, thoughtful layout, and easy access to the pond. I swam to a nearby island and back twice! Cyclists can also enjoy a ride down to the Bass Harbor light and Seawall. The restaurant scene was still vibrant, and we ate outside once a day. If you get good weather, everything you love about Acadia — Beehive Trail, biking the Carriage roads, lobster pounds — is easier and better in September!
