This a quiet and secluded location, away from traffic and city noises. Perfect place to wind down and relax. The main room and the bathroom were clean and well maintained, though the interior decor was dated.

We have been here 3 times over the last 6 years and love it every time. But do notice it is a little less taken care of each time we return. There are some items that would be good to stock up on, like utensils and some paper or plastic plates. I assume most people just go out and eat so usually it is no big deal. We could not get the Jacuzzi tub to turn on but still was able to relax in there, not sure if it does not work or we missed a switch somewhere. A curtain on the big window in the bathroom would be nice so it is not wide open. Doesn't seam like people can see you, but just in case. The room itself was clean and in great shape, the bay window is a huge plus. Would be nice if the TV was closer to the ground, having it up high kind of makes your neck hurt after a while. The wildlife is really cool and the property still very relaxing. We hope the ranch is around for a while longer. Would be great to see this place back to it's old glory, seams like it could be a great place to do weddings and other events. We realize this is an older place and may not have all the bells and whistles of other places have, but nothing was a deal breaker for us and it is very worth the price. We hope to be back again as long as you guys are still around. Thanks

The people we dealt with were pleasant and helpful. The room was fine, except for a few cobwebs around the window. The grounds could have used a little work including cleaning up the outdoor area next our room. And we pulled weeds off the seats in a different outdoor seating area. But it was very peaceful and beautiful setting.

We love staying here. This was our second time at shadow mountain ranch, first time in the enchanted cottage. We just love staying here it’s so peaceful and lovely. The rooms are so cozy and there are some great views and it’s so close to town. It so easy to be here and feel tucked away but still enjoy all the things Julian offers. Any time we’re in Julian we will be staying here.

This is the second time staying at the Enchanted Cottage. Nothing has changed in 4 years....which is a good thing, smiles. The cottage is inviting, comfortable and a wonderful place to rest and relax. The property is beautiful and has a nice seating area under a canopy of trees. Close to both Main Street, Julian and Wynola- both having good restaurants and antique/specialty shops. Looking forward to the next time we can return to the Enchanted Cottage.

We have stayed at SMR several times and it is always a good experience. The host, Julie, was excellent and extremely responsive. We happened to go on the week of the largest snowstorm in Julian in over 10 years. The windchill was 17 degrees. The only minor problem we encountered was the amount of time it took to heat the cabin. When I contacted Julie she had a portable heater brought to us 10 minutes and that took care of the problem. You will be hard pressed to find a more serene and quiet setting.

Our visit was ok. The view was excellent. The rooms were ok except they were old and worn out and needing cleaning. There was only one small basket in bathroom to dispose of garbage and there was no garbage bin anywhere outside. There was no soap and tissues were just left over from a previous occupant.

We enjoyed getting to see the dear in the meadow each morning. Concerned over the mosquitos. Were not able to be outside much because of them.

Beautiful property and cabin location was perfect for a trip to Idyllic ild.We lacked nothing. The beds were so comfortable living room cozy and comfortable master bedroom amazing balcony to see the stars. Awesome stereo speakers. We could almost live on the front porch. And Jacuzzi under the stars

We did talk to Julie Chapman before coming, and asked if our car would be parked next to cabin, she said no, there is a path to cabin. Told her we were 82, she said it just a short walk and few step into cabin. It was a short walk from parking lot to cabin, but no lights at night, and very dark, glad we had a flashlight in the car, dangerous walking in the dark, when we got to the cabin, there was no hand rails on the steps for support. Not good for seniors. The cabin inside was very nice, it was clean and plenty of room. There was no TV reception , called Julie and she said the cable was out, if we had known ahead of time, i would of brought a radio. The night we got there we went into Julian for dinner. Ate at the Julian Grill, but 3am I came down with food poisoning . Not the weekend we were looking for. So over all Vrbo was excellent handling our reservations, Julie was helpful, but the property was not senior friendly.. Would I go back, No, would I recommend it to our friends? only if they were not seniors. .

I have stayed here many times. Delynn and her team are very caring and kind and I am so blessed to have ths ranch to Come to . My body battery and mind are recharged! Mama turkey had 6 new babies and comes right up to my front window! Deer everywhere!

Our visit to to the cottage was exactly what we needed. So warm, cozy and exceptionally peaceful. We woke up to families of deer 🦌 grazing in the snowy area right outside our window. The cottage is very clean and well kept. Nice HOT water for showers. Having a Keurig for coffee in the morning was a treat. Great WiFi connection. Truly a hidden treasure.

As always my stay was comfortable, cozy, The jacuzzi tub was awesome after hiking all day. Customer service always outstanding. I will come back again and again! There were two buck deer and 5 doe right on the property. The night sky is magical. Highly reccomenend the ranch!! Terry

Overall, we had a very good experience at the Enchanted Cottage. Good location near Julian. We saw deer and turkeys roaming through the property. Our only complaints was that the hot water pilot light had blown out, but the staff on site took care of it right away. The pathway to the cottage, through the complex was a bit rough and the microwave and refrigerator were in the very large bathroom. The sleeping room / living room, was big, but the TV was small.

Lovely guesthouse with the jacuzzi bathtub, a luxurious bed. Comfy window seat to read in or color I was visited by squirrels, chipmunks, deer families, turkey family and many kinds of birds. Very peaceful and quiet. The microwave is wonderful for breakfast and the keurig coffee maker is a joy to those who need coffee before being up right!

Spacious cozy Enchanted Cottage surrounded by wildlife including families of Turkeys, Deer, different kinds of birds, Chipmunks and squirrels. The jacuzzi tub is a main attraction . Sitting at the window seat sipping a beverage of your choice as you read and watch the deer frolic. I liked it so well I booked two more nights and stayed 5 days 4 nights! Truly delightful! I stay at shadow mountain about once a month. This time I stayed in the Enchanted cottage. Very comfortable, cozy, quiet! I always have the best time there and the staff and owner are so attentive. I highly recommend any of the cottages!

Really cute! Super comfortable bed and the room was very warm (cold outside!)...we could watch deer from the front and watch the stars outside at night and listen to the frogs...it was great!

Cute property just outside of Julian. The cottage is very simple so keep your expectations in check, but we enjoyed the quiet somewhat remote aspect to unplug and relax. We are planning on checking out the Gnome home and Manzanita cottage and think they have a bit more room to sit. The Enchanted cottage does not offer much sitting room inside- there is a small patio outside and room on the property to be outside.
