SACRED MOUNTAIN RANCH is located in the historic town ofJulian, CA. Our retreat includes three well-appointed residences for up to 18 individuals to enjoy; The Main House, Carriage House, and Barn. All accommodations provide cozy comfort and privacy year-round.
365 degree views of lush unspoiled nature can be enjoyed from every point of our countryside retreat. Relax by the pool, take a dip one of our two private jacuzzis, or experience unparalleled stargazing on the lawn.
THE IVY HOUSE
The charming, ivy covered main cottage is comprised of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are hardwood floors and French windows throughout. The cottage has a sunny, fully equipped Viking kitchen with solid cherry counter tops and a large European farm sink. The living area offers ample seating and a wood burning stove. The master suite has a California King bed, separate sitting area and a private spa tub. All natural materials and white, crisp Egyptian cotton sheets ensure a peaceful nights rest. The bright and airy secondary bedroom has two full beds and ample closet space. The third bedroom has a queen bed and French doors that open out onto the enchanting, secret garden.
THE CARRIAGE HOUSE
Steps away from the main cottage is a vine covered, two-story carriage house. The individual suites are fully equipped with refrigerators, coffee makers and half baths. The downstairs unit has two fantastic queen beds, farmhouse table, and private patio. The Zen inspired upstairs unit boasts a King bed, twin bed, and private sitting area.
THE GROUNDS
A long, private driveway, is your access to the gated property. There is a large Brazilian, rosewood deck in front of the main cottage with expansive vistas across the meadows to Volcan Mountain, encouraging guests to relax and enjoy the serenity and endless sunsets. This private residence also provides a 40 foot saline pool and spa, Smith & Hawken teak furniture and a secluded entertainment area with barbeque. Half way up the stairs to the main deck there is a pool house, which has a stainless steel refrigerator/freezer, farmhouse sink, serving area and bathroom. Outside the pool house is an incredible outdoor rain head shower. The middle tier is home to the pool and an expansive, sweeping lawn area, flanked on one side by a grape and wisteria covered pergola. A custom-made iron & rustic wood dining table underneath seats 14 guests. The seasonal organic vegetable garden is in front of the sweet playhouse and wild French lavender bed. Abundant wildlife such as deer and wild turkey share these pathways with you.

Loved this property. Owners were so welcoming. Fresh flowers and fruit. We felt appreciated. Check in and out process was easy. Internet was bad. However we understand that was secondary to weather. Everything else was perfect.

Great isolated stay in Julian
Great property for larger group - lots of space to spread out, with great amenities and meeting spaces. The barn was perfect for dinners - wish it had been warmer to take advantage of the awesome outdoor dining facilities!

Amazing stay and it SNOWED!
Property was amazing. We overpacked because they had EVERYTHING we could possibly need. We especially loved the set up of the various bedrooms which gave us all some privacy while still being close by. It would be great to have the hot tubs heated upon arrival, but beyond that, it was perfect. We hope to come back soon!

We spent six glorious days at Sacred Mountain. The location, the views were spectacular, and the place carefully designed to encourage gathering, as well as offering plenty of quiet spaces to spread out. We were welcomed with a giant bowl of fruit and wine, and snacks in the pantry. It was fun to have different outdoor spaces to enjoy at different times, heavenly to swim under the canopy of trees, fun to visit the horses down the road and taste-test Julian apple pies. The manager was very helpful and prompt in responding to requests. All three generations of us loved every minute.

The location, the views were spectacular, and the place carefully designed to encourage gathering, as well as offering plenty of quiet spaces to spread out. We were welcomed with a giant bowl of fruit and wine, and snacks in the pantry. Absolutely Amazing
We rented out Sacred Mountain Retreat for our recent wedding and we could not be any happier that we did. Marti and her staff were incredible and made sure we felt so taken care of throughout the whole planning process and during the event itself!
Our guests were absolutely blown away by how beautiful the property was and enjoyed being able to stay at the retreat. The houses and accommodations are beautiful and everyone felt like they were staying at a five-star resort. The property was perfect for families and couples looking to enjoy a weekend away. We had several children staying with us for the weekend and they thoroughly enjoyed getting to go visit the horses, play in the playhouse and run around and explore the property. Their parents enjoyed getting to experience a mountain retreat, while also having the adorable town of Julian close by.
As for the wedding itself, Marti, Megan and Melanie all made sure that the planning process went smoothly for us. They had contacts for vendors we needed and had recommendations on-hand and ready when we asked. Gabe and Daniel made sure all of our furniture was delivered to the correct areas around the property and were available for us if we needed anything over the weekend.
Weddings are great, but they are also incredibly stressful and having the staff at Sacred Mountain there to help was something I will forever be grateful for. My friends and family have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience at the retreat and anyone who books here is in for a treat!

Beds were extremely comfortable, felt like we were sleeping on a cloud. Had some technical difficulties with both hot tubs, but the on site ranch hand was very kind and came right away to assist. Marti and Melanie were always very professional and helpful from the moment we spoke. Hope to one day Book the ranch again!

We often ate each meal in a different location (all the beautiful outdoor areas to dine). We were astounded at the details that were in this property. Everything you could need (in the kitchen or the bedrooms/bathrooms) was already there for us. It was hot during our stay in July but the pool was a perfect temperature and there was great air conditioning in all rooms/locations. We saw tons of wildlife as well as birds, squirrels, etc. Top notch in all facets of our stay! We will definitely be back.

The house is fabulous. We were a family of 10 with teenagers and a grandmother and the house was spacious and comfortable with enough space for everyone to have their own space plus great commons areas. The owner is very attentive and the house is very well stocked. It worked for everyone and that's not always easy to do. It was a perfect for for our family's needs and one of the "best Christmases ever". We would love to return in the summer sometime.

We Love This Place!
The photos do not do it justice... truly. It's a sanctuary. This was my 4th retreat that I lead on this property, and we just can't get enough of this place. The grounds are so tranquil and healing.

Gorgeous serene setting with upscale charm and natural beauty at every turn.
Sacred Mountain provided the perfect setting for a fall celebration where we hosted dinner parties and breakfast for 25 friends and family during our stay. To a person, they were "blown away" with the beauty of the property and how much it added to our whole event. Many people traveled a long way to be there and without question, the amenities and setting made it incredibly special and worthwhile. We enjoyed using all the levels (decks, lawn area, barn) for music, dining, dancing, stargazing and relaxing at breakfast. Marti and her staff were outstanding with every detail, going out of their way to ensure we had the best possible experience all along the way. Those who stayed on the property with us loved their accommodations, whether in the carriage house, the cottage or the barn. We looked at a lot of properties to hold this event, but when we saw this, we knew immediately it was "us", all confirmed by everyone who spent time there. And we all love the cute town of Julian, a stone's throw away.
If you want to be able to rave about where you stayed, this is the place. We recommend Sacred Mountain for almost any occasion when you want to "take it up a notch", and enjoy country, casual, elegant. We hope to go back again for another stay!

Sacred mountain was our first big decision and it was a magical experience from the beginning. Not only is Sacred Mountain the most beautiful, dream home, property I have ever lodged in, but Marti is a pleasure to be around. Responses were always prompt and a bride can be very grateful for that when questions are coming from all angles.
The property is a dream for creating a beautiful outdoor event. The scenery was the main focus and I did not want to compete with it so we went very minimal with decor (greenery, white flowers, amber jars and candles) and the Trivoli lights that are hung above are the perfect ambiance for celebrating under the stars.
Everyone was blown away by the property and I headed a lot of "I did lot expect to find this here" from the guests. We were fortunate enough to spend the next 2 nights there on the property with our families in an effort to bond them and become 1 large family gang. Kids enjoyed the playhouse and the pool and I can say that the adults also enjoyed the two!
It was so nice being able to relax the next day and not feel rushed out of a venue. It was very laid back and everything I wanted and more!
We hope Marti is still renting it out when we have kids! I'm already thinking we could stay 1 week out of the year because my heart already aches for a piece of Sacred Mountain.

Wedding Fairytale
Words cannot express the beauty of this place. It is truly magical! When my husband and I first started looking for a wedding venue, we knew we wanted something unique and intimate, surrounded by nature, but had no idea where to find that. I stumbled upon this gem and never looked back! Meeting Marti sealed the deal for us. She assured us everything would be taken care of and let us use their beautiful rustic chairs, lights, heaters, lanterns and so much more! The house was perfectly cozy, clean and ready for our big day and the staff was amazing! I have so many great memories of our wedding weekend because of this ranch. Thank you so much for sharing this slice of heaven with us, Marti! We cannot wait to visit again! If you are looking for a unique wedding venues, you MUST check this place out. It's unlike any other place and will completely WOW you.

Best family get-a-way
Close to San Diego, just outside of Old Julian lies this amazing retreat. The place was immaculate, with every conceivable amenity available to us. We had 12 people in our party and yet we never felt crowded and everyone had something to do. There are so many hidden garden spots or quiet corners to curl up and read a book and just relax.
Our favorite spots were the pool area and the main dining deck. Between those two areas we had a blast with a lot of fun in the pool and great meals on this deck. The main house has surround sound with speakers outdoors, so listening to your favorite music is as simple as plugging in your phone and listening to your playlist.
Every bedroom has amazing bedding, the kind you want to sink into and not come out. Everyone had wonderful restful sleeps the entire weekend. The kitchens have everything you could need, all you need to do is bring your food and your appetite. I even found French Press to make my favorite coffee. The owner is so kind, she had filled bowls with fruit for our enjoyment, she had also supplied potatoes, onions, garlic and a host of condiments and extras. I have never been so pampered by a hostess. The towels for our showers and for around the pool were thick and luxurious and wonderful. She had provided robes in each guest room so that you really feel like you are a spa or luxury resort.
There are 3 buildings, the main house which has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and a jacuzzi tub. There is the 2 story guest house, that has 2 bedrooms and 2 half baths. Then there is the barn house, which has a HUGE entertaining area, a mini kitchen, a loft bedroom (with multiple beds) and one bathroom. The views from this house are amazing, I kept waiting for bison to come walking across the plains, that didn’t happen, but I did see Wild Turkeys with their chicks, rabbits, squirrels, wood peckers and a host of other birds. A few things you should be aware of if you choose to come here, you WILL be driving on dirt roads, you WILL be in the country, you WILL have animals and insects (bring some bug spray and if you are an arachnophobe like me, be ready) to deal with and you WILL be using well water. It is safe, it is sweet tasting and it looks off color. I was excited to find out that the reason it can be cloudy and slightly colored is that it has gold residue in it. The area used to be big gold mining town and some of that gold powder still finds its way into the water

This is an exceptional property. The owner, Marti, is extemely thoughful, and provides everything you could possibly need. She had turkey platters, roasting pans, spices, and flowers in every room. The property is beautiful. The is lined with gorgeous trees, and wild deer and turkey flow thru and around the property. It is just out of the town of Julian, and easy to find. We will come again, and highly recommend this location.

A group of friends and neighbors from Laguna Beach - 13 of us - stayed at Sacred Mountain Retreat for the weekend. What a residence - what a blast. Marty has thought of everything at this wonderful residence. It is a perfect venue. We dined at Jeremy's On-The-Hill one night and cooked the other night. Each evening we took a short walk to the plateau to see an incredible vista and spectacular sunsets. Can't wait to return. I am so excited to have discovered this beautiful and well appointed retreat venue. My team flew in from across the country and the moment we walked through the door we noticed that peace was present.
Marti honored us with flowers and fruit and every bed was fresh and fluffy with luxury linens. The kitchen was well appointed with all of the serving pieces we needed, table linens, and centerpiece options, not to mention onions and potatoes! Not a detail missed. It felt like home!
The entire property, especially the overlook where we hosted our Healing Art part of the retreat was stunningly beautiful. This is a "must return" to visit place on my list. Thank you Marti for being part of inviting excellence to our event.

Outstanding
A group of friends and neighbors from Laguna Beach - 13 of us - stayed at Sacred Mountain Retreat for the weekend. What a residence - what a blast. Marty has thought of everything at this wonderful residence. It is a perfect venue. We dined at Jeremy's On-The-Hill one night and cooked the other night. Each evening we took a short walk to the plateau to see an incredible vista and spectacular sunsets. Can't wait to return. Thank you, Marty, for this wonderful venue and for making it available to the public.
