About this cottage rental
16 Live Oak is a charming and well-appointed beach cottage that is perfect for family and friends. Live Oak cottages are 5 beach bungalows located right off of Ocean Blvd. and within walking distance to the beach and village! 16 Live Oak offers wide plank pine flooring with an open and spacious floor plan to suit all! The cottage has four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. The master bedroom is located on the main floor with a king size bed, custom designed linens, Sterns & Foster mattress, sitting area with chaise lounge overlooking the pool and hot tub and master bath with double sink area, tub and shower. There are two bedrooms upstairs, both with queen size beds and a large bathroom with double sinks, tub and shower to share. The guesthouse is nestled in the treetops and may be accessed from the main home or from a private stairway off of the pool area. The guesthouse has twin beds, a bathroom and a galley kitchen. The front porch with its rocking chairs at the entrance provides a comfortable, quiet area to drink that morning cup of coffee or evening cooler as you watch the sunrise and set. The dining area is separated from the kitchen by a breakfast bar with stools, keeping you engaged in conversation as you prepare meals. The oversized pine dining table is a perfect place for any meal or game time with family and friends! The kitchen is fully furnished and equipped with updated appliances, which includes gas range and stove, large stainless refrigerator with icemaker, above counter, built-in microwave with countertop night lighting. The beautiful custom cabinetry above the bar area displays the abundant 'coastal style' porcelain and glass serving pieces with inset lighting. The spacious family room is the central area of the cottage for relaxation with your family and friends. The family room is beautifully appointed with vaulted ceilings, gas fireplace and LCD television with DVD, cable and secure Wi-Fi. The goose-down sofa, club chairs and artwork are a luxury for all to enjoy! The abundant floor to ceiling windows allows as much natural light as you desire and/or for privacy, all windows have custom plantation shutters.

We so enjoyed staying at this lovely home. The pool and hot tub were fantastic. We loved that there was a shaded table out back. Our dog got to come along. The house is comfortable and relaxing with a well thought out floor plan. We look forward to returning!

For an older property it was just OK. We noticed a cracked window on front porch before we entered. Also one porch window was open about 4 inches at the top. We closed it but could not get the window to lock. The closet where the air condition/heating blower are located on the 1st floor hall is filthy.
The doors for the closets upstairs were off the rails so we just left them alone and lived out of suitcases. There was a lot of damage to paint on the doors. The air conditioner worked and the hot water for bathes was OK. So all in all for 5 nights we managed OK. The house is farther to the each access than we thought.

We have been coming to SSI for the last 7 years! This was our favorite property so far! Enough room for two families and room to spare. We loved the outdoor area for late evenings. Our teens took over the guest house and we all enjoyed the trip! Jennifer was amazing and stayed in touch prior to our arrival and during our stay!

The house was very comfortable with plenty of parking, even for my trailer and golf cart. It was nice to have the separate guest house, the kids stayed there. The pool and hot tub were great, and the house was well stocked with everything.

We absolutely loved this house, the pool and the spa! It was spacious, clean, cozy, and helped us create beautiful beach memories. It was close to the beach and downtown….yes you can walk to both easily! The owner was easy to communicate with and was very helpful and responsive! We will definitely be back!!

Every year we spend the week after Christmas on vacation in a rental house. This year was awesome. The house was exactly as stated, but better. It was in perfect condition and the heated spa was wonderful. We had plenty of room and a fenced in yard for our 2 dachshunds. Everything from sitting in the den to sleeping was comfortable and welcoming. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, but very close to excellent restaurants, shops, and the pier. We were able to go fishing from the pier and playing on the beach which is right down the road. After a hard day of play and eating great food, a quick dip in the spa and a great sleep to end the perfect day. We are looking forward to next year if everything works out. My 6 year did not want to leave which tells it all.

Our extended family stayed at the St. Simons house over Thanksgiving week & it was great! The house was a good size for 6 of us. The kitchen was well-equipped for holiday cooking & nice meals together. We spent much of our time visiting on the front porch & most of our time was spent at the house. We had plenty of comfortable space for 2 singles & 2 couples. Everything was as pictured.

Overall a great week with my family. Main perk was having our dogs with us. The house was in a great location. Easy walk to the beach and village. My brother in law stayed in the attached guest house and could not use the shower ( too small )..other than that the house was perfect for us to hang out, read on the front porch and play games in the den. ( 7 adults ) looking forward to next year!!

Perfect
The home was perfect for 6 adults an infant and 11 year old! Pool was bigger than pictured, home was well furnished, clean and beautiful. Jennifer was very responsive and wonderful to work with! Great family vacation!

Perfect vacation house
This house was perfect for our group. It was me and my wife, our two adult kids and their friends as well as another couple. The outside pool area was perfect for hanging out in the evening. Beach was walkable but we rented a golf cart. Highly recommended when visiting the island. We stayed for a week and we never actually had to get in a car. The downtown area was also just a short walk (real quick golf cart ride) from the house. Property contact was incredibly responsive and house was very clean and everything was in working order. Would highly recommend this property.

Enjoyable vacation
We enjoyed our stay at 16 Live Oak Place. We were there on family vacation with 3 generations and dogs. The house was very comfortable and we absolutely loved the pool and shady spot! The dogs were able to stay in the shade with the fans and supervise while we swam. The owner is very sweet and quick to respond to any questions or issues. We will definitely be back.

Perfect location between village and beach!
This property is exactly as advertised. The pool and spa are a treat at the end of a day at the beach, shopping or exploring and other activities. Living space and beds are perfectly comfortable. Everything you need to relax and enjoy your St. Simons vacation is here! As traffic can get hectic at peak summer times this house is perfectly located walking distance (for those in reasonable shape!) from the village (shopping and restaurants) and the beach.

Most Relaxing Vacation
We are so happy we went back to St Simons Island and that we lucked into booking this property. The worst part about our vacation was having to leave. Our kids enjoyed the pool all hours of the day that we weren't riding our golf cart to the beach. We can't wait to go back

Great property, lots of room to spread out and relax. Loved the seashell decor throughout the house. The pool and spa were enjoyed by all! Some issues with the spa were immediately fixed, owner was very involved getting the repairs scheduled and helped keep our vacation on track. Loved SSI & Jekyll!!

Amazing vacation
This house is perfect! You will enjoy your stay! Very comfortable beds and pillows. Kitchen well stocked. Pool is larger than it looks. There is also a place to sit with ceiling fans beside the pool! Hot tub is great. You won’t find a better location. We rented golf carts and didn’t have to move our cars. Top notch experience! Thank you so much for sharing your home! We will be back!

Quiet, Relaxing and Stress Free
We absolutely loved the cottage and the cute little neighborhood. The pool is actually much bigger than it appears in pictures. It was our favorite space. We also loved sitting on the front porch in the morning. The house was very spacious. There were 5 of us so we did not even use the additional living space (which we called The Treehouse). We enjoyed the short walk to the beach. I would recommend renting a golf cart to explore the island. Jennifer is amazing to work with and answered every question along the way! We would definitely return to 16 Live Oaks Place ❤️

Homey and Relaxing Stay
My friends and I had the best relaxing getaway at this location! Walkable distance to the beach, the perfect area to go for a run in the morning! Well kept and had everything we need in terms of extra blankets, pillows, etc. The kitchen was fully stocked. Everything felt like home.

We loved St Simon's and our home for a week!
It was a wonderful stay! Location was awesome... a short walking distance to the beach, and loved that St Simon's is so dog friendly. The vacation was a definite 10 , and the rental was too. The pool was a welcomed oasis on hot summer days! Definitely reccommend, owner very prompt in responding to questions.

Heaven for kids & dogs!
We LOVED our time at 16 Live Oak.
I don’t think we could have found a more perfect home to stay in with our 3 kids & dog. The house is in a great location, with the beach & village being walkable or a short bike ride (we did choose to drive to both since we have a newborn). The little neighborhood feels so safe, which is a major consideration for us while traveling with small kids.
Having a pool right in the backyard is such a dream. The kids loved it. We did had one issue with the hot tub on our first night, but the owner had someone out to completely replace the heater immediately & we were able to enjoy it the rest of our stay. This owner is a dream to work with and will resolve any issues that comes up as quickly as possible.
One of our favorite parts of the property (you’re unable to see it in the photos) is under the guest house the doors slide open and there is an open space that gives you tons of shade with a large table that made our time by the pool even better. We were able to have dinner outside and set up a baby swing with fans for our smallest baby! The outdoor shower was also great with the kids when coming back from the beach.
You don’t need to worry about not having any essentials here. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you’d need to cook dinner. There are kitchen towels, paper towels, dish soap, TP, & TONS of extra bath towels!
Overall the house made for the most relaxing vacation I could have hoped for and we’ve fallen in love with SSI.
We plan to return to 16 Live Oak with our family year after year!

The house was great. We expect there to be toilet paper, trash bags and other necessities. The hot tub was a little bit troublesome to operate but the owner helped. The house could have been cleaner upon arrival also. But the experience was fabulous. The town and people were very welcoming.

This is where you want to be on SSI
Jennifer was a conscientious home owner, communicated quickly with me, and provided a warm, welcoming home to my extended family. The pool and spa were impeccably clean, as was the rest of the house. The short walk to the beach lent itself to hours of family fun. The outdoor shower out back made rinsing off sand SO easy for us and the kiddos! Parking was plentiful, and the court the home is in was quiet and felt safe. The full kitchen and huge dining room table meant we could fit all 8 adults and 2 high chairs for meals. The walk downtown was a little longer than to the beach, we really enjoy walking so it was a great way to see the island and the downtown area. We would highly recommend this home if you need a place to stay on St Simons! We came prepared with fans for the upstairs rooms (there is AC but when it’s 95 outside it’s hard to keep it cold), I would recommend bringing some for yourselves.
