The award-winning Vista De Sirena is located in a quiet and secluded fishing village 15 miles south of Jacó. The building sits on a hillside just 275 meters from the beach and offers one of the most amazing views of the ocean along the entire western coast of Costa Rica. Enjoy a short walk to the beach where you can put your feet in the sand, play in tide pools, snorkel, swim or surf. You can also charter a world-class fishing tour in nearby Quepos or Herradura, or join up with one of the local fishermen right here in Esterillos Oeste. The waters are teeming with Snapper, Jack and a variety of other delicious fish. A short scenic drive will lead you to Jacó for shopping, dining, and great night life. A 40-minute drive in the opposite direction will take you to Manuel Antonio, the most popular national park in Costa Rica, where you can enjoy hiking and swimming and experience a diversity of wildlife.
Each of the building's three air conditioned units has a spacious entry with plenty of room to leave your surfboards or anything else you need to store behind locked doors. On the right hand side of the walkway you'll find the entry to the main living area, kitchen and dining space. At the other end of the main living area you'll enjoy the panoramic view of the ocean through the wall of glass with large sliding doors that open up to private balconies. For added privacy, each unit resides on its own floor and has three bedroom suites. Two suites feature king beds; the third suite has a queen bed; One of the bedrooms has a full bed that pulls out from under the king bed for additional sleeping accommodations. Additionally, each bedroom features pillow-top beds with memory foam toppers.
The rooftop is an ideal place to enjoy the company of close friends and good food while sitting at the palapa bar, lounging on the deck, or swimming in the infinity pool.
The penthouse unit comes with a few added luxuries. The main living area is considerably larger with more windows to enhance the views and a gorgeous teak-paneled ceiling. If you want to the enjoy the cover of being indoors and still feel the ocean breeze, the entire ocean-facing wall slides open providing a spacious entry to the balcony.

The location, ocean view, nature and pool were fantastic. We had 18 family and friends stay a week. There was plenty of room.

Fantastic Stay! We had 3 families with adult kids and 2 16 year olds with a total of 16 people. Everybody had a great time. The house was very clean and the many bedrooms all had private bathrooms. The view from each floor and the rooftop pool area was excellent. We saw monkeys, birds, iguanas (lizards?). Each floor can be locked up individually. Javier was very helpful to us and easy to work with. The beach is a short walk. Easy driving to Jaco and Miguel Antonio park for activities. Big tip- close by is Restaurant Los Almendros, it is outstanding and less expensive than the patio which is closer. A hidden gem. It is up on a hill but i easily drove the gravel road eith a 12 person toyota van. No suv needed. Overall great stay- We had a blast!

This is a great house for a large group of people. Very roomy. Amazing view. Quick 5 minute walk to the beach. A/C and wifi worked well. Super Sol is a quick walk and has everything you need. Walk up the hill is steep and the house has lots of stairs but would recommend without hesitation. Great pizza place nearby. Los Alamandros has great food and if you're looking to surf, Brett's Boards is amazing.l

Our group had an amazing trip! The owner, Dave, was incredibly helpful. He lined up a chef, transportation, excursions and it allowed us to relax and enjoy the vacation. I highly recommend this house.

We really enjoyed our time here. We utilized the kitchen, rooftop pool, TV, and everything besides the laundry. We were so comfortable. Jahvi, the Property Manager, was always on standby which was a relief. We would all stay here again!

Our group of 10 adults had tonnes of space to spread out and lots of room to get together as a group. It was a short walk to an almost secluded beach. Javier was great! Super attentive and a short 5 minutes away. He arranged a ride for us into Jaco and recommended a restaurant that even delivered our dinner on the first night. We had a blast!

We had a large party so we were able to rent out the whole place, plenty of rooms and very spacious with all required amenities. One thing to keep in mind is anything can happen when traveling internationally and it’s best to have a open mindset. It makes the entire experience that much more enjoyable. I’d recommend this for anyone who’s looking to spend a few days in Jaco area.

We had an amazing time in Esterillos. The owner David was super helpful with tips before we arrived and Javier the property manager made everything easy for us once we arrived. The layout of the house made it easy to accommodate our big group. The big roof terrace had a nice pool and excellent views. Playa Esterillos is gorgeous. It goes on forever and the clientele was very family oriented.

I would not return to this house in my life, they stole our belongings from all of us. It was noticeable from the beginning that the person in charge of the house looked suspicious (OIJ report submitted) The administration of the house knows these points and takes advantage of this. Incidentally, the insurance does not cover anything.

Trip of a lifetime
We took all our children and grandchildren on this trip because my husband has stage 4 cancer and we wanted to make memories. And we made some incredible memories. The place was gorgeous. The property manager could not have been more helpful and fun. The people, the climate, the food were all so wonderful. The views were breathtaking.

Excellent host with a beautiful home
Dave went over and above to help our four families fully enjoy our time in Costa Rica! His home is beautiful, the views were amazing, and the sound of the crashing waves with the local wildlife were magical! We all fell in love with Esterillos Oeste - more authentic feel than other areas we were considering. Nicely positioned to take advantage of some adventure activities! This will not be our only visit to Dave’s beautiful place!

Slice of paradise
We stayed at this property Mar 18-21 2021 for a long weekend getaway to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. Our group consisted of 13 adults anywhere from the age of 29 to 50. The house was more than enough room with three separate levels and a full kitchen on each level you can’t go wrong! David the homeowner was extremely pleasant and easy to communicate with. Javier, property manager, was beyond helpful. Javi helped us coordinate hiring ladies to come in to cook breakfast and dinner for us one of the mornings and evenings. He also helped arrange a few excursions including ATV tours for our entire group, massages on the rooftop, hiking to see the waterfall and a river boat tour to view the monkeys (which I highly recommend)! The house is just a short walking distance to the beach, was very clean and met all our needs. Would absolutely not hesitate staying here again if we have another large group vacation to Costa! Pura Vida!

Spring Break 2020
House was perfect for us! (and our group is a little picky!) This was a senior trip for 4 HS seniors and their families. 17 ppl, 5 families and we had lots of space to spread out! House is beautiful, just as pictured, pool on roof is an absolutely an amazing space to hang out! Restaurants in town were great and we ate in several nights as well! Karaoke at the local bar was a hit for us! Beach is beautiful and good surf! Pablito the house iguana, loves bananas and doritos if you go! :)

Spacious but has plumbing issues
We were a large family staying to celebrate our 25th anniversary. For that, the organization of this house was fantastic. There are three floors allowing for separation of personal dynamics with plenty of elbow room. However, it should be noted that the lay out of beds on the site is not accurate. There are large trundle beds under most of the rooms accommodating extra persons - not the master bedroom on each floor.
The location was wonderful. It on top of a hill in a small town with ocean views but note that this is NOT beachfront. The climb up to the house is strenuous but well worth the views. The added rooftop amenities - pool, BBQ, bar and hammocks were used by everyone.
All three kitchens were well equipped with a full kitchen including US sized appliances and dishwashers. There were plenty of dishes and cups provided for. However, please not that there are no beach towels provided and in the rental agreement it noted that you may not use the house towels for the beach. We brought our own but that took a lot of space in our luggage. It would have been nice to have the available considering how close the house is to the beach.
Javier who locate contact was easy to communicate with on WhatsApp. He helped to facilitate cooks for our party and was a nice stress relief. However, contact with David - one of the owners in the US proved to be more challenging. He was not as good at getting back with me and failed to give Javier the down payment made to the cooks. He also did not pass along our request for the first meal which lead the cooks to have to grab a taxi to get supplies at the last minute and I had to pay for that. These ladies are great but not chefs, but are nice cooks and helpful if you want reduced stress while on vacation.
The plumbing issue started the first night we arrived. The Master bathroom in the penthouse flooded and leaked into the Master bedroom. Javier arrived promptly to clamp the leak and fix it the next day so for 1.5 days Master bedroom did not have hot water. The weather was helpful in that it was super warm and we found it tolerable not to have hot water. However, the on the third day of our one week stay. The there were more leaks in the ground floor Master bathroom and another bathroom in the penthouse. Javier did have come several times to fix everything and did so in a timely manner, but still I was a disappointed that with such a lovely home the up keep was not better.

Had a great stay over Christmas with our entire family. Great property! Javi was really responsive and took great care of us. Dave gave us some great information and tips as well! Loved our stay and would definitely return!

A 2019 Summer to Remember...thank you!!
Our family stayed at David’s home in Esterillos Oeste in July 2019. We were very happy with the courteous and helpful advice we received from David prior to traveling to Costa Rica. The gracious hospitality continued once we arrived at the beautiful home and met with Javier, the property manager. The house was perfect for our large group with several families that traveled to celebrate graduations! Everyone had their own suite…and were so happy! Plenty of bathrooms and space to move around. The rooftop was a favorite place to gather and enjoy the beautiful ocean view, hangout with the iguanas, see the macaws fly by every day and visit the resident juvenile sloth on the back hill. I think we even saw lemurs in the tree one afternoon on the hillside! The pool was a perfect way to cool down each day after being in the ocean.
Some of our family’s highlights included fishing with William where our ‘fisherman’ caught 15 mackerels…enough fish to feed all of us for 3 nights plus giving fish to William and Javi! Our ceviche was the best. :) Javier traveled with us on a (must do!) monkey boat ride through the river ways and we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Manuel Antonio. The was just a short walk from the condos and nice for boogie boarding, surfing and family soccer games. David recommended surfboard rentals from Brett, who had everything we needed and was super nice to work with.
At the home, a huge pantry and kitchen with all necessities for cooking (on every floor), a nice gas grill as well as a couple of trips to Masxmenos grocery store in Jaco enabled a full week of in-house meals, saving a lot of money for our large group.
It was also very helpful to have washers/dryers on every floor of the home, as we were able to pack less clothes and return home with suitcases full of clean ones!
We would highly recommend this home to families traveling. We felt safe and cared for by Javier. If we needed anything, he was just a quick text away and super helpful. Thank you David and Javier for making our Summer 2019 one to remember! Pura Vida!!

Esterillos Oeste was wonderful!
We had a wonderful time on our family vacation to Esterillos! This was our first time in Costa Rica, so we were not sure what to expect, but it was great! We have a large family, 17 of us from ages 3-50 and the home was perfect for us. Everything was as advertised, and the views are amazing!

A piece of heaven!
Wow, where do I start? This house is incredible! We rented the whole home for our group of 15 and it was perfect. All rooms and bathrooms are so spacious. We were pleasantly surprised with how big the showers are. They're huge! We had hot water the whole time and zero issues with the wifi. The beds were extremely comfortable and eveyone raved about how well they slept. Every bedroom and living area has A/C which was really nice when coming in from a warm day. The rooftop penthouse was out of this world and the pool was a perfect place to spend time with our family and friends. Another plus of this home is the security. You truly feel safe and we were so grateful for that. Javier was awesome. He constantly checked on us and assured if there were any issues, he would gladly handle right away. The area around the home was beautiful. We felt we were with locals instead of a busy tourist city which was so nice because that's how we wanted to experience Costa Rica. We liked how local we were but also close it was to get to Jaco (15 min) or Manuel Antonio (45 min). This home was the center of our trip, the place we spent the most time, and we are ao grateful we chose this home because it was truly perfect. It felt like waking up to a piece of heaven every morning. Thank you Dave, Josie, and Javier for the incredible hospitality, all the informarion you constantly provided, and the recommendations you gave. We had a trip of a lifetime!

Had a GREAT time!
Even prior to our arrival, the owner, Dave, was very helpful and informative. Upon our arrival, Javier, the property manager, was attentive and accommodating. Onsite keypads made room access convenient and keyed wrought-iron gates secured all exterior access points. The home was tastefully decorated, very clean, comfortable and contained all the modern convenience of home. The hilltop views were stunning. We were traveling with 7 other couples (16 people total) for 7 days. Our large group was BEYOND accomodated. There was plenty of room to spread out and the layout made it possible to congregate as a group or have private time, if preferred. The pool area on the top floor was a group favorite. We opted for chef service for breakfast and dinner for most of our stay. It was very convenient and affordable and the ladies went above and beyond to make our Valentine's vacay special and memorable! The home is walking distance to the beach and about 30 minutes away from Jaco which was a nice day trip. We are definitely hard to please clients and I must say I am very impressed! I highly recommend this property, particularly for large groups.

Beautiful home with stunning views in a quiet llocation close to a very inviting beach.
We’ve been home less than a week from Costa Rica and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. My husband and I, along with our three sons and their families, 16 of us from the ages of 4 to 70, found that this house really contributed to making this vacation a dream. The house is very spacious with plentiful bathrooms that made getting out of the house with teenage girls easy. The beds and linens made for really comfortable sleeps. The pool area was a favorite of everyone. When we first arrived Javier took everyone up to see a sloth and monkeys watched us in the pool from another tree. Iguanas visited several times too. Javier was helpful with suggestions of activities, kept the pool swim-ready and answered tons of questions. He really is an excellent manager. The beach was close with very few people, the boogie boards were fun for everybody and the water was warm. We didn’t really cook at the house but all three kitchens were well-equipped if we had wanted to. We all had dinner at Los Almendros three of the nights, everyone including vegetarians had plenty of delicious choices and the brownies were a big hit with everyone. Thank you for sharing your house with us David, it provided us with comfort after long days of activities not to mention the absolutely stunning views! We were concerned about coming in the rainy season but it only rained briefly a few times and it never interfered with plans. We did have considerable rain at the house I La Fortuna where we stayed prior to this house. If you’re looking for a house for a large group that’s close enough to do tons of activities from Tarcoles to Manuel Antonio but still give you a quiet village location, this house is perfect.

Amazing!!!!
It's been just over a week since we left the beautiful country of Costa Rica and this incredible property. It certainly was the perfect place to accommodate our large party of 20+.
This trip was planned well in advance and throughout the process, both Josie and Javi were extremely patient and helpful with all of our questions and believe me, we had a lot of them. Javi, who comes to the property to check in on everyone several times a day was exceptionally helpful and very accommodating. Hope you had a good trip to Boston with your family Javi.
As others have mentioned, the property is located a short walking distance from the beach, which was perfect. There are definitely a great deal of bugs to be seen so if that's not your thing, you can help minimize the experience by making sure you keep the doors closed as much as possible.
The views from the property are incredible. The house is very spacious, highly recommended if planning a trip for a large party.

Me and 16 of my closest friends traveled to Costa Rica for what we thought was going to be a luxurious vacation. We arrived onsite to find the outside conditions of the home difficult to navigate and in poor condition. In addition, the home was not cleaned to standards, mold in the lower areas, bathrooms not properly kept up, bugs found in two of the beds and a broken air conditioner system in one of the rooms. After speaking with Javi he informed us the owner had not kept proper upkeep and this was not the first complaint. In addition, we spoke with the homeowner who promised a refund that we never received. I would not recommend this property. I have pictures and videos as proof! I hope others have a better experience.

Great Time in Esterillos Oeste
We had a full house for our wedding party between Feb. 25 and March 2 this year and it was fantastic. The home is absolutely beautiful with amazing views and secure gates in case you want to feel that extra security. The kitchens had everything we needed to cook full meals and the Super Sol down the hill had pretty much anything you would need to do some grocery shopping. If you needed more there was a Maxi Pali (grocery store) about 15 minutes south of Esterillos Oeste. Javier was very helpful and available when we needed him which helped to make everything less stressful during our stay. The pool and roof top 'deck' area was awesome and the kids loved being able to swim until they dropped. There were washer and dryers available which was helpful so we didn't have to over pack. I did have a couple of marks left on some of my clothing from the upstairs washing machine, but nothing that I couldn't try to get out later or live with. Everyone felt like they could be together but also feel separate if they needed their own space. If there were to be a down fall I would say the water pressure wasn't that great. But the shower upstairs was huge with a beautiful view of the ocean. There are several places to try eat at in this little community, 2 surf shops to get boards from with very helpful people that are always willing to answer questions. There is also a local baker at The Village Bakery, just down the hill, that can set you up with breads, rolls, and smoked meats which were delicious. And if you need a photographer for your wedding or any other event I would look up Beau Maisel Photography because he is amazing. Overall my experience working with David the home owner was very good and he was able to keep in touch with me for my many questions. Javier the house manager is kind and helpful. I highly recommend staying here any time during the year for the house, the community, and the beach. - M

Aesthetically Beautiful; Mechanical Nightmare
Beautiful property. Javi is wonderful. He tries his best to accommodate needs. (If he gives you a ride anywhere, be sure to keep a ledger and receipts of payment) The listing says 24 people and there were not even 24 face towels on the property. Yet if you mess up any of their towels, its $25 per towel! Unrealistic expectations being next to a beach. One towel was used to clean up vomit, I understand. However, the other towels David claimed we reuined were used to dry off from beach. We then had to use those same towels to wash our faces. We were then accused of stealing pillows and bathroom mats! Not to mention the first night the power was out at their sister property whice we also booked. Dave took one day off the charges and offered an apology with things “we could have done differently.” (Yea rented a different property) Then after our wedding, which the venue was perfect for by the way, the power went out at the property. Javi got it to work but told us not to use the washer and dryer. So tell me again how we were supposed to wash the “soiled” towels? Every issue, the owner tried to turn back on us and we found that to be unprofessional and not worth the amount of money spent for this property. I personally walked through every single room upon arrival and at departure. The mats we were accused of stealing werent even there. They were eventually “found on the roof” with a hint of an accusatory tome as if we moved the mats up there. Why on earth would we do that? Prior to booking, I asked several times if holding my wedding there was fine and they insisted yes. There were barely 23 people in the house at once and only 16 actually stayed on property. So power outages should not have occurred. There should have been enough towels. I initially informed Dave I wouldn’t write this review, but after he nickel and dimed me on towels when there werent enough to begin with. Deducting it from my deposit and Javi lying and saying he wasnt paid $50 for a trip to Jaco, here you have it. We are currently about to book another trip to Costa Rica but will be staying at a resort with proper amenities and a tad bit more professionalism. The only reason this even gets 2 stars is because my wedding was beautiful on the roof top. So if you are looking to hold a small ceremony on the roof, this property is perfect! Josie is great! She is personable and always looking for ways to work things out. Communication slacked at times but shes a student so I get it.

Exceeded expectation!
The owner Dave response was fast and he made the booking process as easy as possible for me since this was my first time using HomeAway.
The property was better than the pictures. Each floor was equipped with everything you needed to cook and plenty of space to accommodate my group of 18 with room to spare. Just a little note the property is open to the outside you will experience insects you have never seen before and we had iguanas hanging with us everyday at the pool.
Javier, Property manager, he arranged all our travel pick up, excursions, and booked the cook for us ( which was amazing and they will customize their menu to fit your taste.) Eventhough Javier did a good job ensuring the group got around, I would recommend getting your own transportation it will be cheaper.
Surroundings: the beach is literally a 5 minute walk from the property. There is an amazing restaurant which is about a 12min walk from the property called Los Almendros-I ate there everyday we didn't have the cooks. A small grocery store is 5 minute walk from the house as well. I would suggest buying food in San Jose or fruit from the fruit stands on your way to the house.
Overall it was amazing and I would definitely stay here again.

Doesn't get any better
Came with 7 friends and had a fantastic time. The house sits on the private hill and looks out at the water. A short 5 minute walk down the hill takes you right out to the beach. Inside, each bedroom has a king size bed and easy access to a bathroom. Each floor has a master suite with its own balcony and hammock which open up to amazing views you can see right from bed. The house manager Javier is very accommodating and can help you with any questions about the house or the area. The rooftop pool is tucked away next to a hill so you have privacy as well as great views of the ocean. The rooftop also has a bar area for mingling and BBQ as well as a private cabana with a couple of hammocks to get a break from the sun.
If you are traveling with a large group of people, you will not find a better deal than this!

Costa Rica is beautiful!
This house is by far one of the nicest homes I've ever seen. Gorgeous scenery across the horizon, walking distance to the beach that was clean even after a night of pouring rain. The 4 stars are in reference to the house alone, construction was happening on the road to practically everything there is to do - we sat in traffic each way for over 40 minutes. That took away from a full experience in enjoying the beautiful country, I recommend having multiple options in terms of transportation. If you are familiar with Costa Rica then the best bet is to rent your vehicle and go about. Javier tried his best in maneuvering around that but no luck, we atleast got to experience the delicious local restaurants and the ATV tour which was super fun!

We all sincerely thank you so very much for the use of your beautiful home during the Christmas holiday period. We so enjoyed waking up every morning at 5:30 to watch the sunrise from all your balconies and listen to the surf. We loved your rooftop pool deck for watching the stars at nigh and everyone enjoyed the pool. The grandchildren's favourite place was for sure the pool. We enjoyed your incredibly designed spacious rooms and floors, with your private location on the hilltop with a stunning vista. We were even fortunate to see white faced monkeys and all sorts of birds. The younger ones thoroughly enjoyed surfing and the beach almost every day. Your home was absolutely perfect for our large family and the main floor was great for family gatherings. The proximity to the beach was excellent and we all enjoyed our walks and jogs everyday. Javi was wonderful and we thank him so very much for his help, support and positive personality. The holiday was very special in every way. We look forward to coming back to your amazing home sometime.

Javier is a priceless house manager!!! He made the stay 10 times better than it would have been. The house is beautiful and spacious. There were a few issues but not bad enough to totally kill the experience. Overall good vacation.
