About this house rental
The Bahamas Beach House is situated on the best part of the beautiful pink powder sand beach of Spanish Wells, Bahamas with stunning waterfront views of inviting turquoise waters. Stroll one of the most scenic 2 1/2 mile stretches of beach in the Bahamas while enjoying a variety of beach activities. The house comes fully furnished. There are two bedrooms upstairs and a queen sofa bed in the downstairs den (Please note the two bedrooms are separated by two heavy canvas draw curtains which may not offer adequate privacy for two couples but works well for families). The backyard of the house offers a safe grassed area and sits right on the beach. There is a gas barbecue and patio furniture if you would like to grill your fresh catch and dine outdoors. We provide a double sea kayak for exploring the waters outfront. There are three well-stocked grocery stores within walking distance. You may also buy lobster locally. Boats are available to rent. You may rent a golf cart to tour the island and visit native quilt makers and straw vendors.
Spanish Wells is a charming and peaceful island where you will escape the throngs of tourists and commercialism. It is not unusual to have miles of stretches of beach to yourself. The locals take pride in their island, whose economy is based on a thriving lobster industry. While you may just want to relax with a book and look out over the stunning view from your beach front, there are many things to do. The Bahamas Beach House is located near great bone fishing flats. You can fly fish or enjoy swimming or shelling on the beach. You will also find terrific reef fishing and snorkeling on the world famous Devil's Backbone Barrier Reef located just a 1/4 mile offshore. There are local fishing and snorkeling guides available or you may rent your own boat for fishing, kayaking and snorkeling excursions. You can explore local uninhabited beaches or try your luck at spear fishing for lobster. A short walk will take you to restaurants serving local delights such as lobster, grouper, etc.

Nice place to stay, close to everything. Perfect beach spot

Overall experience was great! The owner made sure we were met at the dock by the property manager and our golf cart was waiting for us as well. Mr Mitchell (property manager) got us settled in, let us know he was a phone call away.
The house is directly on the beach. Steps away. Perfect breeze the entire time. It was so nice having our coffee on the back patio every morning watching the tide roll in and out. This truly is an amazing property.
The kitchen is fully equipped, we cooked several meals and never needed for anything. The living room and dining area are great and fit our family of five without any problems. Great for relaxing inside after a day on the beach. There is also a washer and dryer so no need to over pack. Plenty of beach towels also. The sleeping area upstairs is divided into two sides. It’s an open concept with heavy canvas curtains that divide the two sides. The curtains provide plenty of privacy for changing and sleeping.
We spent a week here and seen a handful of people on the beach the entire time. The beach is shallow, perfect for sunbathing and simply relaxing.
The house is conveniently located. Close to almost everything. The grocery store is down the street. Budda’s (fun little bar and diner) is within walking distance and also a couple little stores.
I would absolutely recommend staying here and look forward to our next trip!

We had another great vacation at Bahamas Beach House. The house has everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
We enjoyed more of the activities taking place on the island this time. Took in opening day softball game at the local ballpark and attended the Commonwealth Day celebration put on by the kids at the school.
As usual, the residents of Spanish Wells were friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

A friend & I were at the beach and looking at the water every day. The house was “spiffy clean”, the beds were comfy & the kitchen had everything we needed. The manager & owner were very responsive.
We loved the house & location.

The home was perfect again. We had another delightful stay, and you can’t be the location on the north shore.

A charming, comfortable home away from home. It has everything you could possibly need to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay! So many little baskets and boxes kept our smaller belongings organized yet handy. Amazing view of the ocean and beach from the dining room made every meal a special occasion.
We fell asleep to the sound of waves every night. Would highly recommend the Bahamas Beach house for an unforgettable vacation!

It was the perfect spot on the north shore. Centrally located and quick to everything on SW. Home was well stocked with all that we needed. Up stairs is one big space divided by curtains, so make sure no one is a loud snorer. Great home all around. Many thx

Nice house in the middle of Spanish Wells. Owner had detailed information on check-in and the island that was really helpful. With our family of four staying there I thought the one bathroom might be an issue but it never was. Really cute little house in a perfect place on the island.

Great little spot
Very sweet little house on the beach, ideal for families with young kids as the upstairs is one large room with many beds. Worked perfectly for us!

Another outstanding visit!
I could not be happier with our time in Spanish Wells. This was our 2nd visit to the beach house and it feels like home. Everything was comfortable, clean and working. Nothing but good things to say about the entire process and stay!

lovely week
This was our second visit to this sweet house. The wind and high water kept us from some of our usual long beach walks, but we were cozy inside and walked all around the island. Also had a great morning of bone fishing with guide BentleyPinder.

Great house, great location, great vacation!
Booking was smooth, property owner David was quick to answer questions we had leading up to our trip, and property manager Johnny was welcoming and very helpful during our stay. The house was clean, comfortably furnished, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, and even oversized pots if you wanted to attempt to make some conch chowder. Loads of towels and extra linens. Washer, dryer, and clothes line.
Bahama Beach House is in a perfect location along a beautiful stretch of beach. The house is situated in such away that you forget there are properties on either side. Direct beach access was wonderful. Close enough to wake and fall asleep to the ocean waves. Set back just far enough that you had privacy from anyone walking along the beach.
The people on the island are welcoming and very friendly. We had one of the best vacations ever and our beachfront accommodations played a huge part in our wonderful Bahamas experience!

Quiet, beautiful beach, clean and well equipped, simple but comfortable home.
Overall great experience, but expect real quiet....really, really quiet! Often the only people on the beach or in the restaurant. The beach in front of the house is great for wading, wished our grandkids were with us, such an amazing, safe waters for the younger ones! (not to mention a great daily workout for the not so young) you can walk out to the sand dune about a mile out....and further at low tide. Sitting on beach we watched as fish jumped out of water and saw some Rays flirting with the shore. Stressed me out, worrying they would beach themselves! Would love to come back. Villagers, super nice....

Charming, perfectly located beach house
This house is everything you need a beach house to be, and is perfect for a couple or a small family who don't mind sharing the large upstairs bedroom. The house is well equipped for cooking, including a grill for the fresh lobster picked up at the docks. There is air conditioning, but we never turned it on given the cool breezes. We will be back!

Perfect stretch of beach!
The size of the house & the loft were a bit worrisome. I was pleasantly surprised with the loft-the beds, sheets & pillows were all nice & there was WAY more room than the pictures seemed to show, it felt like we all had our own space. The living room is small, but we spent no time there. The bathroom was also small & cabin-like. The kitchen has everything you could think of for cooking; measuring cups, muffin, cake, pizza pans, etc. There were a lot of sand toys, noodles & floats too! Being on the beach, I would recommend bringing ant poison (at grocery store if needed), we put some out and they disappeared. There was a ton of spices, condiments, coffee, etc left behind in the house, I'd see what's at the house before running to the grocery store-which carries everything you could want. We had a boat for the week, for us a must, and found it pretty easy to navigate the area. Not much to see snorkeling-wise on the beautiful beach, but we did see stingrays, sharks, bonefish & barracuda occasionally. We did all of our snorkeling & fishing off of the boat, would recommend something bigger than the 17' Whaler, although it got the job done. The house is conveniently located within walking distance to liquor & grocery stores and many restaurants, including Papa Scoops-we opted for a golf cart, Johnny Underwood is delightful! One last note, we booked our flight thru United, operated by Silver Airways. We had a horrific experience with Silver, missed 1 1/2 days of our vacation. From everyone we spoke with, it's unfortunately typical to have flights canceled or delayed. We are currently waiting for a lost suitcase to show up! While I would think long & hard about gambling on Silver Airways, booking the Bahamas Beach House is a no-brainer. We would definitely return!

Perfect Island Charm
We had a fantastic two-week stay at the Bahamas Beach House. It is everything you need, and nothing you don't. The location on the island is near perfect and located on a great beach. It is in a cluster of houses but we rarely saw anyone else. The house had a very comfortable king-size bed; so much so that I didn't miss my own bed at all. Another small but great detail was the Weber gas grill. It may seem trivial but it's important to me that we have a nice grill to cook all the fresh fish we caught. The house was clean and cozy, and absolutely perfect for one family. I wouldn't hesitate to rent the Bahamas Beach House again.

Rustic charm, fantastic beachside location
This was our second year staying at the Bahamas Beach House and we enjoyed it as much as we had the first time. The house is not fancy, but is very comfortable, and has a well-equipped kitchen, and a new gas grill-crucial for grilling lobster tails! Wth a wide-open second floor, it is best for a couple, or a family that doesn't mind giving up some privacy. The outdoor shower is great for rinsing off or bathing in nature. It's so soothing to be lulled to sleep by the sound of waves, which are easily heard with the windows open. The house's kayak makes it easy to explore Spanish Wells, Russell Island and the tip of Eleuthera by water. The caretaker, Johnny Underwood, is a great help for things around the house, golf cart rentals, or for tips on what to do around the island. Spanish Wells is changing fast, with several new homes going up nearby, a new liquor store within walking distance, and a new waterfront dining option at Wreckers. Get there now before it changes too much, and enjoy the quiet and solitude at this house!

Just what we were looking for!
This little place was just amazing! The location was perfection for a family who didn't know much about the island. Everything was so accessible. The cottage itself is charming, clean and gave us that beach feel we were hoping for. It had everything you needed to enjoy a stay away from home. The beach chairs and kayak were a huge hit and the outdoor patio area was private and cozy....(shared with the small adorable anole lizards). The beach out front is a worldly phenomenon...... Stretching white sand beaches and being able to walk out hundreds of feet before it even passes your knees! We enjoyed Buddas and their wonderful staff. The Shipyard Restaurant was our favorite for the view and the food quality. We saw a white tip reef shark here on our last night. Also, The state park is a must visit!
Lastly, my husband had an amazing fishing adventure with Deeks Fishing tour! They caught 12 yellowfin Tuna, We had so much tune we had to give some to our neighbors! My 10 year old son and I went Snorkeling with Captain Ryan Neilly off of Devils backbone....it was a little intimidating but I was impressed with all of the live coral and fish life here. Captain Ryan was very attentive and a great person to show the kids the cool features of the island.
One factor to mention: The bedrooms are really one big one separated by curtains so if you have a snorer in the family...you might want ear plugs!
Our care taker Johnny was kind, attentive and made sure to arrange our travel to and from the island which was was seamless both ways. We loved our time here! We will definitely be back to this beach house!

Charming cottage, perfect location
My fiance and I stayed with another couple for a week. It was our second time to Spanish Wells, our friends' first--and they fell in love with it, as we had the year before. Though the island is becoming slightly more touristy (we counted 25 people all day on the beach!), it still retains its small-town feel. The house has a well-equipped kitchen and grill, which were great for cooking at home. You have to improvise some, based on what's in stock at the Food Fair, but the bounty of fish and lobster and conch helps balance out whatever else you might wish you had. The house is rustically charming, nicely decorated, and just steps from the beach, which can't be beat. It was soothing to go to sleep to the sound of crashing surf (in the spring, the winds are up and the windows were open). We knew in advance that it might not be the most private for two couples, but we worked it out. Having the kayak was great--we explored Eleuthera around Ridley's Head and also Russell Island. Property manager Johnny Underwood is a great resource, and you undoubtedly will meet other people on the island who will happily help you find a boat, go snorkeling, buy lobster or fish, figure out when fresh produce is coming in, or enthusiastically share their love of their unique place in Bahamian history and culture.

Would go back in a heartbeat.
My wife and I honeymooned for a week at Spanish Wells and stayed at this well cared for villa. The island is primarily made up of working people who make their living in commercial fishing and other non tourist related jobs. As a result, Wells has very few restaurants and tourist shops which makes for quieter beaches and very friendly people who aren't trying to sell you something. We rented a boat from Johnny, the property manager, and got away from the island for some sight seeing, swimming and fishing with NOBODY else around us. I highly recommend to those looking for a low key vacation.

Spring Break 2014
My wife and I spent our Spring Break in this wonderful house on the beach. Everything was perfect, clean and exactly what we needed for a restful and exciting week in the Bahamas. Johnny was the best host and a wonderful gentleman. We had such a great time in Spanish Wells we are going back next Spring and bringing our adult children and grandchildren.

the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen
My girlfriend and I rented this villa for 10 days and after the second day we both decided we were definitely coming back. The people are great, the island is small, the beaches beautiful, the weather fantastic.....all the amenities you need at the villa. I highly recommend this for people who want a relaxing quiet vacation. The island is a dry island but you can bring your liquor to the island it is just not sold there.....I give this a five star....

Return visitor
We spent 4 weeks here this visit and had a wonderful time again. Our daughters and their families each joined us for a week and can hardly wait to return. The kids rode bikes everywhere without adult accompaniment which was a treat for them. Johnny and Nancy were charming and helpful and we met lots more locals during our longer stay. We already have booked for next winter.

Our Dream Vacation
We just spent a week at the house over New Years and had such a wonderful time that we are already planning our return trip! We are 3 generations including two teens and an eight year old and found no shortage of ways to spend our days. The house was roomy and well set up. We like to bake and the kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils you'd need. We used the bikes for extensive explores of the town and harbour and the kayak for venturing out on the water. The house has a good selection of videos and games for relaxing after a busy day of beach walking, shell collecting, reading, and wondering how cold it was back home! We rented a golf cart from Johnny, the awesome caretaker of the house, and went exploring to Russell Island. We also used it for grocery shopping, although the stores do deliver. We decided that the house was on the prettiest section of the beautiful sand beach!

Perfect beach vacation
Very well equipped oceanfront house with a very nice bedroom. What you don't find there you don't really need. You feel as being a guest of friends. We loved the nice beach with very warm, clean and shallow water.
Johnny the house keeper picked us at the harbour and brought us back again.
Take your repellent with you. There are sand bucks and they like you.
We where there with our two boys (age of 10 and 13) and they liked fishing at the harbour.
Don't look for a good restaurant on the island. You will not find. You have your own barbeque in your beachhouse.
