This bungalo / craftsman style house is the cutest! Inside is an eclectic decor with a mix of mid century modern and West Texas flair. We enjoyed our time gathered in the living area while a few of us cooked and prepared home meals. The dining area is large enough for a group to have dinner or breakfast together and play a game of cards in evening. The kitchen provided a large cast iron skillet which we loved.
We loved the outdoor water feature and seating area for morning coffee and conversation.
The location is great a distance from the main part of town (2-3 block if walking). The neighborhood felt safe as we had runners in our group that left before dawn early in the morning.
The owner was responsive when we had an issue.

Great space for us grand grandkids. Lots of room.

Good. One bathroom has been updated, but the other bathroom is circa 1940 or so. Other than that, no complaints.

We enjoyed staying at this property, especially enjoyed the backyard. The check-in info said the property had a dishwasher and printer. It has neither. We made other arrangements for the item we needed to print. The lack of a dishwasher was no big deal for us but might have been if we had a bigger group.

House was clean and an easy walk to restaurants/shops. Marfa is quiet and this home with its relaxing backyard was so relaxing.

The house was very comfortable and as advertised. We visited local attractions for hiking/exploring including Big Bend National park (about 2 hour drive) and Davis Mountain State Park about a 1/2 hour outside of Marfa. Restaurants are limited if you’re planning to eat out with most closed in Marfa on Mondays and Tuesdays. We used the gas grill at the house to make do. Internet was limited in the area but just fine at the house. Marfa provided a quiet, friendly and slowed down environment to remind us all what’s really important. We did go to the Marfa lights viewing station about 9 miles outside town on the last night and though we didn’t witness anything unusual, viewing the night sky full of stars and constellations in this whole area (including the station) is absolutely gorgeous. The Marfa lights viewing station had a pretty good size crowd and does provide restroom facilities as part of the structure if you’re planning to go. The Marfa Presidio county museum is another great stop for history buffs. Marfa is hard to explain- on the surface it’s a simple place loaded with history and very friendly people. All I know is I felt re-charged after experiencing it for a few days and would recommend it.

Thank you for sharing your home. Proximity to nearby attractions was great, and the neighborhood was very nice. Covered parking was a plus. But for review purposes I must say the home is very worn. Kitchen cabinet and drawer knobs were all very loose and kitchen drawers were ill-fitting. Generally, finishes are worn. Furniture and kitchenware seemed like a large collection of hand-me downs from folks that didn't want the items in their own home. Most of the window blinds would not raise or stay raised. Outdoor furniture was an odd assortment of ornamental iron chairs with no pads (small pillows were provided on the front porch). Door locks barely catch, and a door in the kids room (behind a shelf unit) was found to be unlocked and the chain lock ripped from the door trim. Grills (propane and a very small charcoal grill provided) were not clean and ready to go - fortunately I brought my own. I understand it's hard to keep things maintained in a small, distant town - but this home needs a lot of TLC.

The house was in walking distance to the Courthouse for Marfa Festival. Communication with property manager was excellent. We enjoyed are stay and the house was very clean and had everything we needed.

The house was easy to find and the parking space was very nice. The landscaping and outdoor tables were very inviting. There was 4 in our party and we enjoyed the spacious bedrooms and common living and dining areas. There was plenty of hot water for us all to shower.
My one an only complaint is the door lock. It took us multiple, multiple attempts to get it open and had to call the property manager for assistance.
Detailed instructions would be good.
Thank you, to the owners. We had a great time. Jan Wilson

Wonderful home in a fantastic location.

We have been to Marfa several times and love staying in houses. With grandparents, daughter/spouse and grandson (12) it's nice to have our own space. This house had 2 baths, 3 bedrooms and sleeping for 10. Kitchen was well equiped for us to have breakfasts. Lots of outdoor sitting. Covered car parking. Quiet neighborhood. Easy to get to observatory and Ft. Davis. Temp in house was very comfortable. No complaints.

We traveled with my elderly mother and this home was a perfect fit. She can walk, but steps are difficult. The home had a walk in shower and only one step at the entrance door! Perfect!
The home is large enough that nobody was crowded and the living spaces are roomy. The kitchen was fully equipped for all of our needs. In addition, the location is walking distance (for those who are NOT limited mobility!) to the courthouse and several restaurants. Very convenient location.

House is a bit dated (too many old doors), bedroom doors don’t lock/ glass windows on interior doors, small washer/dryer, but overall a nice place and great location. Enjoyed it.

The place really has a nice backyard and location. It has plenty of room and wonderful art. We had a comfortable stay. I would give it a 5 star review but I believe the amenities could use updating or better labeling/instructions. Would stay there again.

My husband and I brought our teenage grandson to Marfa as a homebase. We spent our long weekend exploring Big Bend, Bahlmorea State Park, and the little artsy oasis known as Marfa. The house is comfortable and clean, wifi strong and the kitchen well equipped. We especially enjoyed afternoons on the front porch and the grill in the backyard.
We all slept well and enjoyed the extra touches at this property. Will stay again.

Perfect home
We loved this house. The garden is so lovely with seats for viewing the night sky. The trees offer shade, the AC was cool and fresh. The kitchen well stocked. The beds and bedrooms offered flexible sleeping arrangements. I would just say that the bedroom doors were sometimes tricky to shut because they're old but that would be my only comment. We did our laundry, made our coffee, easily walked to town, and had good wifi although no one was doing much work while we were there. Host was responsive. Overall great stay!

Beautiful historic home with great yard
Covered parking space. Loved the huge backyard. Appliances and air conditioning all worked great. Kitchen is good size and well furnished with cookware, made for easy heating of food.
Keep in mind this home is almost 100 years old and is showing the typical historic home things that could use some attention, not surprising at all for a home this old and it only added to the charm.
Also it appears that it was built during an era when everyone had a piece of furniture known as a wardrobe to keep their clothes in. There are no closets at all, but the owner has made accommodations for that in each bedroom, which is really all you would need when traveling. Again, that is part of the historic era when this home was built.
If we have occasion to be in Marfa again we will definitely rent this home again.

So Cute and the location is Excellent
We loved the home and yard. The back yard is like a hidden garden. Really enjoyed sitting out there and reading. The house is so cute and very functional. Much nicer than the pictures. Kitchen has everything we needed to prepare nice meals. Location is just west of the courthouse. Easy to walk everywhere. We would definately go there again.

Enjoyed the home!
We enjoyed staying in the house that my mother actually grew up in back in the 50s! It brought back so many memories for her. Completely priceless. Thank you.

Comfortable place in Marfa
Unique and comfortable old house suited us perfectly. Beautiful backyard for morning coffee with a bubbling water feature. Beds are firm but clean and check in process was as easy as can be. Loved the art and the little features for comfort like throw blankets and coffee maker. Would stay there again happily.

Great house in Marfa. We really enjoyed the falling water on the back porch!
The location was good and the kitchen well stocked. Only complaint was the bedroom doors don’t close all the way leading to some privacy issues.

great home away from home
my friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. there are a few quirks to the house but overall it's a perfect place to spend time in Marfa. close to the town center while still quiet enough for focus. each of us was working remotely and found adequate space to spread out. excellent stay that I'll not soon forget.

My wife and I stayed a month during July/August of 2021PROs (no particular order)*ROOM TO SPREAD OUT*LOCATION It's in Marfa! You could stay in larger, cheaper Alpine, 25 minutes away, but Alpine is almost the opposite of Marfa - much more rural West Texas vs. Marfa's super-cosmopolitan vibe.*FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED. They live there. Something goes wrong, they fix it quick.BIKE FRIENDLY. Not in the sense that there are exciting mountain bike trails; Marfa is flat as a pancake. But you can get anywhere in the city limits on an old cruiser bicycle with one gear. It'll take you about 10 minutes, you won't raise a sweat, and cars won't run you over. Very little traffic, very few tourists passing through, and the locals must be the world's most conservative drivers. At four-way stop signs it's "you go." "No, you go." Plenty of room on the property to park your bike safely and out of the rain. And if you don't have a bicycle, you can easily walk to downtown. Marfa is a very, very small town. *AIR CONDITIONER WORKS GREAT. It gets hot in the summer (though never humid).*COMFORTABLE BEDS * BACKYARD IS GREAT. Big, green, with a lily pond. Very different from most of Marfa, which is, after all, located in a desert.CONS. It's an old house. The kitchen and bathrooms are not high end. Actually, nothing is really high end, but then neither are we. Your mileage may differ.
