About this apartment hotel
El Balcon is a one bedroom/one bath studio apartment suitable for one or two persons located on the second floor of the Marfa House, an historic structure originally built as a railroad hotel in 1890 and lovingly restored over a 14-year period to preserve its old west charm and equip it with modern amenities. El Balcon has a private entrance from the second floor balcony of Marfa House and features premium bedding (which can be configured as a king-sized bed or two twin beds, at the guests' option), an en suite bathroom with shower, a seating nook with reading light, and a coffee station; and a second chair. Comfortable seating is also available right outside on the Marfa House balcony, where you can relax and peruse the goings on in central Marfa while sipping your favorite beverage. El Balcon guests also have access to the other Marfa House common areas open to all guests: the gallery sitting area, and the atrium at the rear, which features a fire pit and large screen television.

Marfa House was perfect for our needs. We walked to all of the downtown Marfa spots. We enjoyed the balcony, and the security of our access to the property. Clean and well appointed! Would recommend to anyone.

Great location, interesting building, and pleasant room, but missing some essentials (coffee filters and stable wi-fi).

Need a simpler way to communicate when you need items ie toilet paper, towels etc

Great location for walkability. Clean, comfortable, nice balcony, clear instructions. Only drawback might be the sound of the nearby train (but true of anywhere in the vicinity as the train runs through the town). I would recommend!

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Property managers are not present. We were the only people in the building.
A few squawks be nice to have sugar, sweetener and creamer for coffee, a box of facial tissues. TV was useless for live or local TV.
Otherwise had a nice stay was quiet and relaxing to sit on the balcony.

Easy check in and out with the multiple (good security) door codes. The room is bright, with a bit of light at night (didn’t bother me) and a train now and then going by… but all the town center hotels would have that… those are the only two things that I want to mention that might be a problem for some folks. Otherwise, wow!, incredible location, really lovely place with a balcony & blankets to sit outside and soak in the Marfa evening light. A small gallery downstairs with a reading area and the room itself was bright and comfortable with coffee at the ready. Bathroom was clean and the soap/shampoo/etc… was really nice! I would book again next time I’m visiting.

Wonderful stay
We absolutely loved the Marfa House. Convenient location, affordable and cozy. We will definitely be back.

Right in the middle of everything, clean, quiet, comfortable, and easy. Coffee maker and fridge made it easy to do breakfast myself. (Bring your own coffee, the provided coffee was oxidized and didn't taste great.) Punch-code locks mean no key to keep track of. Linens, hair dryer, and soap are provided and good. USB charger on bedside table is a great touch.

Perfect room to just catch some sleep. Bed was comfortable and the room was nice and cold. Only 2 small issues, the shower felt small to me and the building is close to train tracks. I would stay again

Marfa is Amazing!
First time traveling to West Texas, and what an amazing experience it was! Marfa House was hands down the best experience we’ve ever had when traveling. The location was cozy and central to everything in Marfa! What an awesome room filled with art and history, and walk-in distance to lots of food places/stores! Thank you so much for the lasting impression as an amazing host!

It’s in a great location.
Property was super clean. The ceiling fan and vents were dusty and bathroom door dirty on the inside.
My biggest drawdown was the train hat runs several times during day and night.

Stairs noooo
It was nice could have used a small fridge and microwave. Stairs hurt my knees. Will try to look into booking a room downstairs. Thank we enjoyed it!

Perfect location, El Balcon is small but a cute room. As for me the only thing I had an issue with was the bed. It was really hard.

Super sweet
We loved staying at the marfa house. Clean and Anne was so sweet to work with the crazy weather storm schedule that delayed our stay twice! If you need a cute quiet clean room, it's perfect!

Loved it!
We had a great stay. The rooms and property were very clean, the common areas cozy and inviting, and the check in/out process is zero contact and much appreciated these days :)

We had a very nice stay here. Our concern regarding cleaning was immediately forgotten when we walked in. You could tell it everything had been cleaned very well. The room is small if you are 6'4 like my husband but we didn't spend much time in the room since there was a very nice balcony to sit on when not sleeping. There is a train that could go past the Marfa House in the middle of the night but it didn't bother us. The bed is comfortable and there is a wide selection of pillows. Nice towels, hair dryer, coffee supplies and shampoo. The only thing missing is a small fridge since it is hot there in the summer. We had a cooler so we could have hauled it up the stairs and left it on the balcony but chose to leave it in the car. Overall, a nice place.
