About this house rental
Our location and property is a dream come true for any visitor to our beautiful Caribbean Island. Snorkel the reefs that are only a few steps from your front door (once the weather permitting), or soak up the sun while overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The spacious master suite on the upper floor is everything you could possibly want, beautiful views, air conditioning, en-suite open plan bathroom, and a cooling sea breeze.
The guest bedroom has to be the cosiest room in the house. This is the only part of the existing beach cottage that remains after major renovations three years ago. This room also has an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and flat screen t.v with cable.
If you are someone that likes to spend time in the kitchen, our kitchen is a real treat. From Italian cabinetry, stainless steel appliances (including a wine cooler) to the small Nespresso coffee maker, I believe we have it all covered.
Our large deck is wonderful for dining outdoors and viewing romantic moonlight evenings!
The front lawn/deck speaks for itself in the pictures. This is were you will be spending most of your time, it's everything you would expect from the Caribbean. From amazing views to the multi-species ocean life, fish, turtles, crabs, there is always something to see.
AUA Med School In Antigua - The American University Of Antigua is only a 7-minute walk. We are great for traveling doctors, nurses, and parents attending graduations.

We loved it here. Kitchen had what we needed. AC. Lots of room. Location was amazing. We will be back.

Lovely house, sea view and location. Owner very responsive and accommodating (we travelled with young kids). Be aware the air conditioning is only in the bedrooms so it can get pretty warm in the living areas.

We came to kitesurf and loved this house! It’s in a very quiet neighborhood and had everything we needed. Deck and yard were awesome and so were the two master suites. We will definitely be back.

Twigg Cottage is in a lovely, quiet area of the island. The kitchen is well-equipped. The beds were comfortable. The deck overlooking the ocean is a wonderful place to relax. We had an issue with the water one day, which Daniel was quick to resolve. We had a very nice stay.

Great place for relaxation. Accommodations, view and set up just as described. Plenty of room to spread out. Outside areas to be in the sun, out of the sun or half and half. Right on the water; but no real beach for swimming. Dogs barking intermittently on both side neighbors property.
Kitchen is very well equipped. Bathrooms/showers are very large with plenty of water. Location is north shore, with a constant NE breeze. No need for AC.
10 minutes to airport. You can drive to the south shore in 45 minutes.
Overall, very nice place. Thank you to our hosts. Would stay there again.

Beautiful home, on the water, beautiful views, comfortable beds, ocean breezes, well supplied and ideal for visiting students at AUA.
Daniel is more than accommodating and the house is beautiful and comfortable all around. I have not stated many places where I can take a shower and look at the ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay snd Daniel was quick to respond with any questions or needs we had. Thoroughly happy with our 2 week stay! Thank you Daniel!

The cottage was near perfect for two couples and Daniel was responsive about house concerns. We did love the steady wind that made a/c unnecessary. We chose this vrbo because of the snorkeling option as stated in the description. We were very disappointed that was impossible due to winds and high surf. Walking anywhere was treacherous. The roads are very narrow with no shoulder making it very unsafe. There was no outdoor grill and the cooktop is inefficient at best. Some basic kitchen gear as a large baking pan/ broiler would have been helpful. Really wanted to love our stay but it did not work out well for us. Driving in Antigua is very stressful as the roads are crazy narrow. We visited many sites and beaches and were relieved every time we got back to the cottage in one piece. Not a relaxing vacation for us.

Sleep to the sound of the ocean
We had a great stay at Daniel's property. Everything was as pictured, if not better. There was plenty of space for our family of four to spread out. The outdoor area was incredible. Going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean was definitely a highlight.

Paradise within a Paradise
It was most difficult to leave the tranquility of this VRBO property to venture on the Island which is a paradise. The ocean waves against the deck with the fresh Caribbean breeze in an amazing serene and safe environment made it most difficult to want to leave the property.

The pictures don't do this place justice!
Our daughter is a student in Antigua so we chose Twigg Cottage because of its proximity to her apartment. The pictures do not show how wonderful the home is. The kitchen is large and spacious (which came in handy for making our daughter's favorite - banana bread!).
We had to fulfill a few work obligations and the wifi worked perfectly. There is plenty of space to relax with family. There's a convenience store that's a 5-6 minute walk down the road where you can get basic essentials including beverages (beer, wine, soda, etc.) The home is on the windy side of the island, perfect for enjoying the sun without getting uncomfortably hot. Both bedrooms have A/C. We slept upstairs and were comfortable at night with the ocean breeze.
If you want to go to St. John or explore the island you will need to hire transportation.
All in all, I highly recommend.

Stunning!
Our only regret with this property was that we were not staying longer. As soon as you walk through the entrance you are drawn to the beautiful view out the back of the property to the stunning north coast. A lovely house, tastefully decorated and with everything that you would need. Great kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, plenty of outside space and a fantastic deck right on the seafront.
The area is quieter than other parts of the island but still provides an excellent base for exploring. We stayed cosy, taking advantage of the villa and the immediate area. There is a little convenience store and takeaway close by (5 mins walk) and an excellent hotel: Hodges Bay Resort just around the corner. We used this twice for lunch and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, good food and lovely views. We finished off with cocktails in the beach bar. You also have the French restaurant on your doorstep, a little bit more formal but excellent food.
If we return to Antigua we will definitely be back - Thank you Daniel.

My husband and I got away right before the virus escalated! How lucky! Daniel our host was there to meet us, and was terrific helping us with a rental car, making arrangements for our Covid testing the day before leaving , and responsive to anything we asked! Thank you so much Daniel. The house was as pictured roomy, spacious, a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable master suite bedroom with a comfy bed and pillows, towels and sheets. It was private and a real escape from the worlds problems. The deck overlooked the ocean and the wind was always blowing to keep you nice and cool. The bedrooms have an air-conditioner but we never needed to use it. There is a little store within walking distance which helped us for the first night there for milk and a few basic supplies. Attached to the tiny store is a place for take out or eat in. Not much atmosphere , but we did take out and the food was well prepared and we enjoyed it on our first night without a car. Daniel had a lovely sweet bread for us our first morning , ample ice and bottled water to get started. There is a shopping market about 10 minutes away by car. Daniel has a list of places to have dinner and lunch and every place was scrumptous. I highly recommend our favorite Cecilias !!!!! Do not miss this restaurant . Go for a lunch or early dinner so you can take in the view and beautiful decor! There is a French restaurant right up the block within walking distance and we dined there twice, again excellent food. If you rent a car just be careful of speed bumps and pot holes and interesting driving without many road signs! It was always an adventure! But we enjoyed going places and seeing the sites. The people are lovely all over the island, and we felt safe . Daniel also has a person who can drive you places his name is Craig and we used him for some day trips and to the airport. He is a charming young man, responsible, on time and so helpful! Because driving was a challenge during the day we tried to dine before the sun went down to be sure we got back! This worked out so well! Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and watching the sun set was pure heaven. We would go back in a heart beat, this was a perfect vacation and the 2 weeks flew by so fast. This home would be ideal for 2 couples or a family. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor space.

We can't thank Daniel & his family enough for sharing their beautiful home with us. You can't beat the location. With a rental car, you we explored every part of this beautiful island & then return to this warm & lovely home with beautiful, tranquil views. There is no doubt we will be back to this paradise.

Perfect Location
Twigg Cottage is in a nice neighborhood at the top of the island. Literally 7 minutes and you will be "home" for your vacation from the airport. You can't beat the views, the house is very comfortable with A/C in the bedrooms, fully stocked modern kitchen. Daniel, the host is very hospitable. He met us at the airport, brought us to the house, showed us the lay of the land and left us the keys. Answered any questions we had regarding beaches and restaurants. We loved Le Bistro, Stella's and the lobster pizza at La Bussola. We ended up eating more dinners at home because you cannot find a better view than the backyard.

Everything we expected and more!
It could not have been more perfect! The house has everything needed for 2 couples to have a perfect vacation - and large enough so we could find our own space. The owners were on hand to answer any questions and were also very helpful with info about shopping, restaurants etc. The outdoor space was where we spent most of our time. The deck is right next to the sea! What more could you want? We are already talking about a return visit. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Excellent Base for Our First Visit
This was our first visit to Antigua and I must say we loved it.
Renting from Daniel is very easy. He responded to questions I asked prior to our trip promptly with solid information. The house is very nice. Exactly as advertised. The deck is a great place to relax. We spent two days on the deck taking it easy.
The rest of the cottage is neat and comfortable. It has many windows which, when opened, keep the temperature very cool. We used the air conditioner in the bedroom at night.
Daniel has a good list of restaurants and activities. Every one we tried was as good as he said. We only communicated with him once or twice during our stay and he responded promptly with good information.
We will definitely return to Antigua and when we do we will stay at Twigg Cottage.

Back for more!
My family (husband, 2 college age daughters) returned to Antigua after a lovely stay last year and had another wonderful week in Twigg Cottage! There is nothing better than waking up in that master bedroom, hearing the surf and the rustling palms. The house is wonderfully situated, well equipped, and very attractive. We particularly enjoyed mornings and evenings on the gorgeous deck. During the day we generally headed off on excursions to various beaches, all of which are easily reached. Daniel is a responsive, helpful host. We hope to come back in the future.

Fantastic location near the water
We absolutely loved the home and enjoyed spending time there. The home was very spacious and provided an amazing view of the Carribean. Everything we needed was right there and we felt safe. Certainly a beautiful place away from home.

A little piece of heaven on earth
The house, the location, the amenities, The View - this place was perfect! Us five sisters/girlfriends gathered the week of Nov. 10-18 from all points of the U.S. and Canada and wanted something special to celebrate a milestone birthday (no need to go into age details ☺️) and Daniel’s home in Hodges Bay lived up to our expectations. The house, endearingly referred to as Twigg Cottage, is very close to the airport and sits right on the water’s edge, just down the road from Hodges Bay Resort and Spa (what’s not to love about having a convenient spa). Spacious, extremely comfortable, well appointed, awesome kitchen with high end appliances and everything we needed for an incredible week long vacation. The large deck accommodated us all, and was a great place for morning coffee, with steady breezes to help keep us cool. Daniel was a truly amazing host - met us at the airport and guided us back to the house. All of his recommendations were spot on and he was always available to provide assistance or answer any questions. The house was extremely convenient to a lot of awesome restaurants (Le Bistro, The Bayhouse), the grocery store (would recommend going to Epicurean which has the best and most complete selection) and some fabulous beaches/points of interest. Although the property sits right on the water at the north end of the island, and is a mere 3 steps down through a gate so you can swim anytime, it is worth taking a 10 minute drive to Dickenson Bay for that spectacular Caribbean beach experience. Would recommend going to Ana’s which is next to the Sandals Resort (Sandals does offer day passes depending on their occupancy), renting a cabana and chaisse lounges and then kicking back and enjoying the food/drink service and beautiful beach/water. Duty free shopping and nightlife on the other side of the island (about 45 minutes away) and you have to get to Shirley Heights for the view (if you’re so inclined, they have a sunset music event on Sundays starting at 4:00). I would recommend hiring a taxi for nighttime excursions as it can be a bit of a challenge skirting all the potholes and manueving on the dark, narrow roads. We rented a car which was so convenient for getting around and once you get the hang of putting your seatbelt on from right to left and figure out the right lever for the turn signal instead of the wipers, and of course remembering to stay left, it was easy to master. Will definitely return - this time for an extended stay!

Beautiful and private!
A lovely home situated on the more quiet end of the island-yet close to many things, including wonderful restaurants and beautiful beaches! Daniel, our host, was more than accommodating to our every request, and was quick to reply with some excellent suggestions! The Villa was large enough to accommodate a second couple and still provide ample privacy & seating options. A real find! We hope to come back for our 25th anniversary!

Fantastic Beach Front!
We were stunned how close to the water this place was. It's your own private beach! You get endless views of beautiful water and a great deck to spend your day on. The place is wonderful, clean and full of everything you need. After a long flight it was great to be able to soak in a tub large enough for both of us, sleep in a super comfortable bed and listen to the sounds of the ocean all night long. The upstairs master bedroom provided great privacy from the other room below if you had others with you. Overall the home was much larger then the pictures depict. The kitchen was well stocked, even with condiments and coffee (Nespresso pods only). Although our visit had higher winds then normal, even on calmer days you'll get a nice breeze through the house that always keeps it cool. Most places on islands come with bugs, ants etc but this place had none in site! There is gated parking but it's on a corner of a main road and can be a challenge to pull in/out of but it didn't take us long to get it down. The area looks to be growing so I'm sure this place will only become more popular as everyone hears of this hidden gem!

Outstanding, modern, clean, beachfront, great host
Outstanding house, we really enjoyed our stay. The spacious patio right on the beach is stupendous. The house was bigger than expected, clean and well maintained. Daniel is a gracious host and met up with us at the airport and then spent time with us going over sights of interest in the island.
I highly recommend staying here and we are planning on staying here again in the future!

Great House, Great Location, Great Owners
Beautiful home and grounds situated directly on the ocean with a nice patio and a deck on the water and lots of comfy outdoor furniture to enjoy both. There is an island not too far offshore that has a lot of comings and goings, so there is a lot of action on the water. We ate two of our three meals a day at the house and the kitchen was very well stocked and there was even a good selection of condiments so make sure you check before going to the grocery store (and don't forget to take the reusable shopping bags in the pantry with you as there are no plastic bags on the island). The beds were super comfy and the pillows were awesome too! It was a great floor plan for two couples with the two bedrooms each with a private bath. We did not use all of them, but there is a TV with cable in each of the bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. There are also really nice beach towels, so no need to bring your own. The only thing we forgot to pack was a soft-sided cooler that we could use for cold drinks during our day trips around the island. There was always a nice breeze that kept the house cool throughout the day and night.
Corina met us at the airport and we followed her to the property and she gave us a great tour and pointed out everything we needed to know. Daniel was super easy to work with and answered all questions in a very timely manner both before we arrived and during our stay.
We rented a car so we explored the island to a great extent. Driving is a bit tricky and the roads are not marked well, but the island maps came in handy as well as the large green signs at many of the major intersections. Don't expect to get anywhere quickly as the roads are a bit rough and streets in St. John are very congested, but it is all part of the adventure! The Donkey Sanctuary, English Harbor, Betty's Hope Historic Plantation are all must sees and there are so many beautiful beaches to explore. Unfortunately is was windy during our week, so the snorkeling was not good on the island due to poor visibility.
We would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely, comfortable, convenient home
My family had a wonderful time in this fantastic home. We love to snorkel and agree with a past guest that the snorkeling right off the deck was the best we came across on the island. The house is beautiful, especially the master suite, airy (the home has AC, but we never turned it on), and conveniently located. We spent mornings and evenings out on the deck and enjoyed many excursions during the day--sometimes just down the road at Jabberwock Beach and other days across the island, all of which was easily managed. We cooked quite a bit, but the home is convenient to restaurants, too. We plan to return!

Relaxing
This is a beautiful home on the North Shores of Antigua. The deck outside, right on the water, is where you want to spend all your time relaxing and taking in the beautiful scenery while enjoying the lovely breeze.
The home has all that you need on your vacation, the kitchen is fully equipped if you decide to stay in and cook.
Highly recommend this rental property!
