Welcome to our air conditioned and spacious condo at Kuilima Estates East, located right at the entrance of Turtle Bay, Ritz Carlton North Shore. Our 1 bedroom condo with loft sleeps 6. Come for rest and relaxation, hit the beach with all of our beach toys (snorkel gear, foam surf board, boogie boards, chairs), enjoy some golf or even pickle ball (paddles & balls provided)!
Our two-story condo begins on the second floor of a quiet corner unit facing the golf course. The main floor features a primary bedroom with king size bed, bathroom with tub, in-unit laundry, full size kitchen, living room with high ceilings, and screened in lanai/porch. Upstairs you will find two queen beds and a second bathroom with shower. It has all of the comforts of home with air conditioning in every room, great WIFI and three TV's.
One parking space is included, right in front of the unit. A second guest parking space is available - just let us know if you will need parking for another vehicle. There is also a bus stop in walking distance.

The place is very cute. Beds are very confortable and it is very close to the beach. I also liked that it was pretty spacious for a family of four. On the other hand, the condo itself wasn’t very clean. Both bathrooms needed to actually be cleaned. I even found adults hairs, and three dead cockroaches in the tub. This place definitely needs some TLC. It could be the perfect place if it was well maintained.

Great spot to vacation, we will be back. I love that its in Turtle Bay, within walking distance of the beach and food. We had an absolute blast!

We literally killed about 100 during our week long stay (mostly in the kitchen and bathrooms, but they were everywhere). We contacted the property manager about it the first night and pest control came to put traps/bait, but it wasn't enough to deal with the problem. The place also seemed like it hadn't been deep-cleaned in a long time (built up dust and dirt on wall hangings, fans, baseboards, etc.). Also, the check-in requires you to retrieve keys from the property manager's mailbox a few miles away; kind of a hassle. For the positives: the beds are comfortable and the condo is decently equipped with kitchen items/beach gear. We've stayed at other rentals in Kuilima Estates many times before and this was our worst experience.

The property is in a great location short walk to a beautiful beach. If you are coming to do a lot of hiking you will spend some time in the car going back to the other side of the island.

The place was great! A/C works well. Was stocked with plenty of beach gear, boogie boards, snorkel gear, etc. Very awesome location on the North Shore. It was nice to have a pool to swim in as well. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Keep in mind I traveled with my husband and our 4 kids (ages 11-19) as you read this:
Location: This was our first time going to Hawaii, and from past experiences we prefer a calmer place to stay in rather than the hotel-feel you get by staying in a high rise condo/resort. Staying on the North Shore can be a drive if you are constantly going back to the south side, but we loved the slow ride around in the mornings. Having the ocean in view as the day begins is just awesome. The beaches in the area have much stronger waves than they do on the south side of the island, but easy to pull off the side of the road to visit.
Food in the area: There is Ted’s Bakery a couple miles away in one direction (excellent pies and breakfast + lunch options), and a community of food trucks a few miles in the other direction (recommend Seven Brothers for burgers and salads, and Giovanni’s for shrimp) so there are good options are nearby.
Condo: this condo was just the right size for our group of 6. I was very happy with in-house laundry available. It was stocked with plenty of beach towels and bath towels. She had a supply of boogie boards and snorkeling gear. I’d wished there was a better skillet/frying pan to use for making breakfast - the ones there had most the non stick coating scratched/worn off. There were a couple roaches hanging around, but I understand that’s everywhere there so oh well.

Many cockroaches in kitchen including the dishwasher; greasy, unclean, and chipped dishes in cupboards; front security door is very difficult to shut close; had to drive out of the way to pickup and drop off the keys at someone's personal home. We've stayed in far nicker places for less in the same complex and we would definitely not stay here again.

We sure do like staying at Turtle Bay! Cathy’s place was certainly familiar to us and it helped make our trip great! I’m house laundry is sooo convenient! Check in was easy. The main toilet had trouble with refilling the tank and the smoke detector battery was low which resulted in chirping. We informed her about it and she was fixing to take care of it. The bed was plenty comfy. Windows and sliders open for a nice cross breeze. The place stayed plenty cool for us to sleep at night. Kitchen could have been better stocked with spices. Sift through some of the beach amenities to make sure they function well- both umbrellas we tried to bring with us were broken. But this is all very small stuff and we had a great time regardless! Love the North Shore!

Great place to stay on the North Shore. Condo was clean and comfortable for all 4 adults. Appreciated the fans and AC units in each sleeping space. Close to the pool and to Turtle Bay Resort and beach. It was about a 5 minute walk for us. Went down to the resort almost every day for the beach and drinks/food in the evening. We had a car but chose to walk as it was so close and a beautiful walk. Walking on the golf course path also leads to a beach!
A five to ten minute drive in either direction leads to food trucks, Ted’s bakery, etc.
Cathy was great to work with. Check in process and communication was made easy.
Will definitely stay here again!

The checkin email was appreciated. However the keys that were supposed to be in an envelope with my name per the email were not there. The keys that were turned out to be maintenance keys. In the listing it has an address, however the address is not the address listed when booked.
When I contacted Cathy she asked if I was at her home to pick up the keys she forgot to leave in the mailbox per her email instructions. I let her know I got keys from the mailbox which is when I found out they were maintenance keys. When I asked for confirmation on the address she got an attitude and referred me to the email she had sent. I eventually found the correct unit per the email only to be greeted with cockroaches on the counter and walls of the kitchen.
I messaged Cathy regarding the cockroaches and she told me she was made aware of them on Friday, and had the condo sprayed on Friday and Monday (day of arrival). I let her know I understood she had someone spray but the cockroaches were still in the condo and very much alive.
Instead of sending maintenance to spray again or offer a can of spray she immediately offered a refund so we could move somewhere else. It was clear I was not going to get any help with the issue from her and after looking for anywhere else to move the cost was 3x what was already paid due to short notice. So we bought our own can of raid and sprayed all week as the cockroaches never left.
After looking under the sink I discovered multiple cockroaches sticky bait traps full of cockroaches with dust covering them. This problem clearly didn’t start on Friday as I was told. I would not be renting from her again. A simple attempt to help with the problem would have sufficed however she showed no interest in guaranteeing our stay was pleasant and cockroach free.
The layout was cute and having pool toys and a couple life jackets available was one of the reasons we booked here.

We have stayed at Turtle Bay condos numerous times with friends and family. We love the North Shore’s proximity to our favorite beaches away from busy Honolulu. This condo met our needs as far as beds and space. The beds were comfortable, the common areas were good for our group. The kitchen and bathrooms could have been cleaned a tad better. It’s an upstairs unit, so keep that in mind if you have older travelers. The pool was great, we used it almost every night after beach and before bed for the kids. They loved being able to swim there after long days at the beach. Kahuku is a great town with amazing food stops. It’s a must place to stay if you want to avoid the craziness of Honolulu, and has some of the best beaches within 5-25 minute drives. We think Turtle Bay is the best place to stay on Oahu. A condo lockbox would make key retrieval and drop off a little easier. Overall a great place to rent, and we loved our stay here.

We loved this home. It was a 10 minute walk to the beach. It is located on the north shore area and very close to many visitor hot spots. The place was spacious enough for the five of us, though we did have a minor issue with the downstairs bathroom, the owner was super responsive and informed us of how to address the matter. You do have to travel to another location pick-up/drop off the key that access the unit, but it is not far (though a slight inconvenience). First time in Hawaii and heard north shore is the best area to stay! It was a great location had some beautiful beaches only 13 minutes away. We enjoyed using the boogie boards that were there for us! Only downside is the carpet felt dirty and just the bugs. I read the reviews before so I did expect them! Other than that if I ever come back I’ll be staying here again!

It was nice to have a separate loft with a bathroom for the kids. My only suggestion to cater more to a family like ours that still has young kids would be to add some plastic plates and cups. Great location and Comfortable
We've stayed at Kuilima Estates condos many times for the past 32 years. This condo has that "Hawaiiana" feel. It felt like being at "home in the islands".
Back in the day, check in was much harder, this was not so bad. Yes, you have to go to the prop managers house to pick-up/drop-off keys but I really did not mind that at all, it was very easy to find and it was nice to pick up from a home instead of a business that may have limited hours.
The beds were very comfortable. The overall condo was clean. There was a slight issue. This is not uncommon for the islands in general. As mentioned in other reviews, there were a few cockroach sightings, especially in the loft upstairs and a couple in the kitchen. Our friends, who have never been to the islands, got the full "island" feel since they were staying in the loft :). I spoke to Cathy about this and she explained what was going on and it totally made sense and hopefully that issue, which is no fault of theirs, will be resolved very soon.
Otherwise, a very good stay.
There were lots of items you would need for the beach; chairs, sand toys, boogie board, snorkeling gear, towels ... etc. So nice to have readily available.
The washer/dryer is on the smaller side so when you wash the towels at the end of the stay, you may want to start the night before. :). We did and it was no problem at all.

Very clean and comfortable. Loved that it had everything we needed from boogie boards to everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. It definitely felt like a home away from home. We lived on the North Shore 18 years ago and this was so reminiscent of how life was back then, except this condo has air conditioning, and all we ever had (as well as the majority of people then) was a fan. We loved the Hawaiian theme decorating and everything is well stocked. There were plenty of bathroom towels, but only 6 beach towels, so I was glad I brought extra beach towels as to not destroy the fluffy bathroom towels provided. We had a great time swimming in the community pool and we REALLY appreciated the boogie boards, sand toys, life jackets, and snorkeling gear--these provided items really go above and beyond! Bonus that there was after sun(burn...oops) products. You could easily stay long term with the well stocked kitchen (plenty of plates, silverware, cookware, etc and we were even able to make smoothies with the blender!) The beds are comfortable. There are extra folding chairs to supplement the four chairs at the table. I did have to clean the dryer out as it was full of lint (fire hazard as well as reduced airflow increasing dry time) and also vacuumed a bunch of sand out of the lint exhaust, but this is likely due to previous tenants not shaking towels out (which is specifically requested in rental instructions). We did see geckos and cockroaches ( these we saw daily especially after returning in the evening) in the unit, but if you're familiar with island living, you know this IS part of island life especially in multi-family housing where you can't control the cleanliness of your neighbors. I was a little annoyed at having to pick up and drop off keys from the owner's home (it's a tiny detour on the way to the condo from the airport). However, Turtle Bay has key fob entry parking for the condo and with late arrival and early leaving this really is more convenient than any other option, and seriously, it's a tiny detour--not a big deal at all! I did feel like I lost a portion of my last day there to laundry as the owner requests all towels to be washed before you leave and our flight left super early our last day so everything needed to be done the day before. The washer and dryer is a small stackable unit, so it took a couple loads. Requiring this though, laundry detergent is provided and that's a nice bonus too. Cathy was very communicative and responsive--as stated before, we'd definitely stay again!

This trip has been in the making since before Covid hit and we finally made it. The residence was perfect for our family and away from all the crazy crowds. The unit was very spacious and clean and had everything we needed. We will absolutely be back again and highly recommend for families. Thanks Cathy!!!
