Staff were helpful, breakfast was convenient and tasty but a bit pricey for what it was. Could rent motorbikes through the hostel and they booked our tuk tuk to the ferry port.
Went to rent a motorbike and they had none, had to wait a while for a different company bike rental. We were told by the hosts the tuk tuk would be 200 pesos and ended up being charged 300. Location is okay but you do need to rent a scooter to see things and get food. Bed is just a mattress on the floor which was quite uncomfortable. We kept getting tree falling through our closed window which were falling on our bed sheets and were very hard to get rid of. Overall wouldn’t stay here again as we paid more than nicer hostels to stay here.

I loved the owner! She was so nice and friendly and made the best pancakes. The pancakes were for a good price as well. The beds were comfy and you can rent a scooter right away at the hostel and they arrange a tricycle for you.
Our private hut was very noisy. You heard every sound outside around it and even walking inside made a lot of noise.

The owner is really kind and friendly. The kitchen has many items to use and is clean. The bathroom was clean. The location was perfect. The whole stay was a pleasure, I loved it!

The staff was excellent and friendly. The space is so cute, the common areas are kept really clean. The huts are very comfortable, with a net and a fan. The breakfast was good and cheap. We felt really welcomed there.
Nothing to dislike, but although Lazy Lizard is close to the main road, it’s a bit of a hill to walk.

Ruhige Lage und sehr nettes Personal
Kein Stauraum bzw. Ablagefläche im Dorm

The two women who handle breakfast and reception are so sweet and helpful! We thought they were great.
We rented the two single cottages for the two of us and were glad we had our own rooms because the space is small.
The location is really good and relatively quiet as it is off the main road.
Staying here definitely feels like a bit like camping (we did not mind), but if semi-outdoor living is not your thing, maybe look elsewhere!
The bathroom situation could be improved. It is a shared wet room and you either have to take your shoes off (icky with a shared damp bathroom) or wear your shoes in and then use the bucket to try to wash the dirt off the floor.
Would be better if it was a shoes-on bathroom. Maybe with a shoe/foot wash outside the door and/or a floor squeegee of some kind could be left in the bathroom for quick cleanup.

La cabaña, respetuosa con el entorno.
El camino lleno de barro. Se puede solucionar sin poner mucho gasto o intervención.

I love the vibe and the people running the hostel. They were very nice people and very accommodating! The facilities are basic, but that is the point. They're sustainable and I wouldn't want to change a thing

Lovely hosts, close to JJ’s. Wouldn’t recommend for solo travellers as not very sociable but for a most authentic experience it was great. Breakfast cheap and tasty

The staff is very friendly, i try to approach the owner, but he did not respond

Lovely hostel in a quiet spot up the hill from the road going through San Juan. Still within walking distance from some nice restaurants and bars but a scooter is kind of necessary on the island anyway… doesn’t matter where you stay.
The staff are really nice and over my 6 nights there I had plenty of time to talk with them. The food and drinks are also fairly priced. The dogs at the hostel are super friendly and there is plenty of space for parking. The Wi-Fi works well!
I think one or two more fans for the bottom bunks would have been nice on the hottest night we had but the room is well ventilated so the warmth wasn’t usually an issue.

Good location and great staff. Room was basic but had everything we needed and we really liked the patio area with chairs and hammocks. Breakfast was good, the banana pancakes were lovely and a big portion. Shared bathroom was regularly cleaned . Free drinking water and motorbike parking
2 pillows each in the bed would be good

Really quiet and nice location.
Curtains on the bed would have been nice and included towels. But it’s still a nice hostel:)

I love how simple it is yet all the necessity you need is there.

There were water refill stations, bikes available to hire, a kitchen to use and a nice common area.
We stayed in the shared dormitory, which consisted of 4 bunk beds in an incredibly tight space with no room to store belongs or move around. It was already fairly claustrophobic, and it only got worse at night due to poor ventilation with little to no air coming through. The beds were also some of the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced, with paper thin pillows and rock hard mattresses. All other travellers we spoke to in our room were equally as dissatisfied and multiple were actively searching for other accommodation as we tried to too. I honestly don’t think I had a single restful nights sleep my entire stay. Some staff were friendly and helpful, however on the whole staff lacked any information on the island and things to do, leaving us to do a lot of guess work and research. There was maintenance work going on early in the morning meaning we woke up to loud drilling sounds which was obviously very unpleasant. It was also up a very steep and dark hill, meaning if you want to experience the nightlife, walking home at night felt very unsafe and tuktuk drivers charged significantly more to drop us off.

-Nice ambiance
-Homey vibes
-Has a chill receiving area and an open for all kitchen
-Good location
And the ate chriszel and ate marlyn are very accomodating. You can have a conversation with them for hours. (Because I can speak the dialect) . Haha
-i even learned their different cebuano accent. HAHAHA

Good hostel in a decent enough location
No air conditioning so the rooms get a little too warm on a night

Friendly staff
-Good doggos
-Close to JJs
It gets very hot in the dorm, despite the 3 fans blasting in full effect.
-Beds are not the most comfortable
-No lockers/security
-Cold showers only
-Breakfast available but not lunch or dinner, not even snacks. Problematic as the hostel is situated on a steep hill and restaurants in the area close quite early.
-Not a social place as there's only one dorm room (which is also packed and too small for the amount of people in there)

I forgot my towel and reception confirmed with me and allowed my friend to pick it up.
There was a small lockbox for you to use.
The breakfast pancakes are very large and good. Water refills.
The hostel is up a large hill so best if you rent a bike. Can feel quite isolated without one.
I didn't feel it was the cleanest/very rustic with a lot of bugs everywhere, especially in the bathrooms.
I feel like reception didn't know the answers to a lot of my questions/weren't very helpful. I often felt quite frustrated that they didn't offer more assistance.

Very nice atmosphere out in the green (even more so in the bungalows, compared to the dorm)
Staff was very helpful (i.e. scooter rental even after we switched hostels because they were booked out)

Lazy Lizard is one of the best accommodation you can find on the island especially if you're on budget. It's near from stores, beach and restaurants around Siquijor. The owners are very sweet and accommodating and I highly recommend Lazy Lizard especially if you're looking to experience the island life.

We love the place. My hubby and I already went here pre-pandemic. Super cozy, friendly and accommodating staff and owner. A couple of minute walk to the beach to enjoy the sunset. Place is great if you like nature. Really enjoyed our stay here... We can't wait to go back. God speed and more power! Thank you Lazy Lizard PH! ♥️

Nice staff, good price.
No air con, old wooden bunk beds with no curtain. It’s off the main road and completely dark - didn’t feel comfortable walking back alone at night.
4.0 / 5.0
The place has a great vibe surrounded by nature, there’s a kitchen you can use but they also have breakfast options, staff is super nice, if you rent a scooter is close by to a lot of things and good food options are walking distance.
Room was a bit small for 8 people
