I like the idea it belongs to the grounds in which the main house is, with nice walking trails around. Great people working there.
The fact it was misleading from offerings mentioned on Bookings. We booked a cottage as part of the Hotel. In reality, its an AirBNB in the hotel's grounds. The cottage felt unfortunately disconnected from the main house, the breakfast was not in the hotel but rather you cook your own from groceries supplied, we found out the pool (as unique selling point) is not part of the offering with extra charge of 40 pounds per adult, and for 3 nights we staid nobody comes to clean the house. The breakfast, the do it yourself concept and the pool extra charge - that is not what we booked based on description on Booking.com. The key note is, misleading.

Gorgeous hotel in stunning surroundings! The staff are great, helpful and knowledgeable. Our cottage was super clean and very comfortable.

The hotel & the spa area were lovely. Every member of staff we met was very welcoming. Food was fantastic
No spa treatments available to book full time of our stay which was disappointing

Enjoyed breakfast more than evening meal
Lighting in restaurant at night was poor & nit a great choice of menu

We loved everything. The stand out for us is the way the staff treat the guests and nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful food, stunning drinks, spotless bedrooms, gorgeous grounds and the pool and spa area is fantastic
This was our second visit to the hotel, and we will continue to return. Everything about this resort is outstanding. Special thankyou to both Nicola & Philip who went over and above. The spa is glorious and the food and drinks are second to none. The rooms are beautiful and so clean. We stayed in a king estate room. Icould rave on about the quality and value that is on offer as it realy is world class. We will be back over the winter this year. Thankyou ☺️

Location, facilities, friendly staff.
There was a ‘discretionary’ 5% added to the room fee at checkout.

treated like royalty, nothing was a problem, made to feel very special by the staff and the surroundings were very well kept and clean, standard room was beautiful and more than expected with beautiful decor and generous space, with lovely views of property, spa facilities were modern and well kept and felt very relaxing
would have liked to have been able to enjoy a glass of Prosecco in the spa facilities

Rooms are lovely and new. The restaurant (and breakfast) is superb. The spa excellent.
The hotel is split into a new wing, adjoining the old hotel. The old building is beautiful and full of character, the new beautifully finished.
Nothing.

The property was beautiful. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The golf course was amazing what a way to spend a sunny Monday afternoon.
We really enjoyed our stay but it was a little disappointing when we went for dinner having to clean our own place mats. A part from this little error we truly enjoy it and that’s why I only gave 8/10 otherwise It would have been a 10.

The property is beautiful and the facilities are first class!
The only negative was the time taken waiting for drinks to be served from the bar to the garden sitting area. There was a few couples we met that were all saying the same thing.

The property is in fantastic location, amazing feeling to live in an old castle vibes. The the area is full of site seeing, castles, family activities. Wow!!
The staff, front desk is is amazing.
No laundry.
No 24 room service. Limited menue.
No limousine service.
Challenging in logistics, rare taxi activities near the hotel, and rail station is 30 mints away! You have to rent a car to enjoy the vacation. Otherwise the logistics will be always a concern.
Breakstaf staff not used to tourists from middle east, some attitude is there. Easy the feel the attitude during the breakfast.

The breakfast in Charlie's restaurant was very good as was the dinner served in Charlie's in the evening.
The underfloor heating in the en-suite was on high the whole time and could not be turned down. The air conditioning in the room was patchy and inconsistent for the first two days of our stay until adjusted externally (turned on ?) by the maintenance team.

Clean room/bathroom
Under staffed, no atmosphere in bar, I was bitten badly, we could hear the guests in rooms next to us as if they were in our room

Restaurant food quality good but overpriced. Service very slow.

The spa area
It didn’t feel like 5 star. I’m fussy with food and I’m also pregnant which makes me more fussy than usual so couldn’t really get any food that I liked apart from caesar salad (tweaked without anchovies)
Room service we asked for two chips and only got one, I asked for a ciabatta switching the halloumi for cheddar and they sent halloumi.
We went for lunch in the lounge where I got the salad and we were told to sit on the high table until a lower table was set for us (there was a few empty ones) I had to stand as I’m small and it was uncomfortable for me also being pregnant didn’t help. The table was never set and waited what felt like at least 15mins before we got a drink. I then asked if we could just go and sit on a low table and they said yes so we did. The girl in the bar wasn’t very friendly/looked stressed/uninterested/unapproachable/not helpful. The man who poured who drinks was polite and friendly. Also the room service £18 prawns were not worth £8 never mind £18.
The fact the outdoor pool closes at 7pm is pretty poor. It’s still light outside in Scotland until late. It should be open later for hotel guests. The pool lounge area was extremely busy and we struggled ro get a seat for all the seats being covered in towels with nobody at them.
We also turned up for the spa at 7am and there was no staff there. We signed ourself in and waited a few mins and then tried to attend the pool area but the door was locked. We waited a bit longer, checked out the gym then decided to go vis the changing area. We were also unaware that the sliding door to get outside from the inside of the pool had a button to open it so we had to wait until we saw someone else use it before we could. The previous day it had seen it was open and stayed open hence not checking this out when it was closed. We also had to wait for breakfast the next day because we went at the busy time because we wanted to enjoy the spa first.

Gorgeous property, surroundings were beautiful

Pool was very nice, rooms well designed and a good view over the estate. Whisky lounge was very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast very good
Kids were allowed access to the spa and pool which really took away from the relaxing experience. Kids were running over the grass and jumping directly into the pool. Dinner was very expensive considering the food was poor, food not the standard you would expect given tue quality of the hotel

Gorgeous hotel with a beautiful spa. Lovely staff who were always very friendly and helpful.

As always a great stay, the staff absolutely make this hotel and it’s the reason we keep going back. We had a baby with us this time and the staff could not have been more accommodating.
Nothing, it’s great.

My daughter and I wanted a couple of special days away together somewhere lovely. Friends of ours stay at the Roxburgh and recommended it to us. From start to finish our stay was fabulous. The surroundings, the staff, the food, the spa, the room and facilities were all excellent.
I don't have anything negative to say about our stay at the Roxburgh.

Beautiful property And surroundings.
Staff were very curtious and helpful.
Dogs are allowed in all areas including resturant area . The only area they were not allowed was a bar , which was shut .we had to eat out and breakfast in bed which was different from what we ordered . My partner is petrified of dogs which normally we can be seperated from in specific areas . Extendable leads that owners let the dogs extend inside the building

If you like relaxation and spas this is the place for you! Great Facilities, stunning food, staff were professional, friendly and engaging and the spa is so clean and super stylish! Big rate for this place!👌

The spa facilities are beautiful and kept wonderfully clean.
The room was spacious and nicely decorated.
Despite information both from the hotel and information available on booking.com, you cannot access the spa facilities until your room is ready at around 3pm.
I have visited the spa twice now and both times facilities have been out of use. The first time, the access door was broken for access to the pool and this time the hot tub was broken.
The cleanliness in the restaurant/rooms is not what I would expect, the bed linen had numerous holes and the towels were stained. The plate which my meal was served on had dried in sauce/gravy on the underside and the place mats at the table are stained at most tables I have sat at.
The service at check in and throughout our stay was slow and lacked warmth.

The rooms were of a very high quality making for a comfortable stay & we found all the staff were really welcoming and friendly.
The food in Charlie’s restaurant was excellent on the 3 evenings that we ate there.
The library bar was very welcoming and is worth a visit and has a great selection of whiskeys.
The open fires in the evening made the hotel warm & cosy especially as it was February.
Unfortunately the SPA was just to busy the time I visited on Saturday there were no loungers are chairs available (the SPA is gorgeous & worth visiting).
We could not get a table booking for dinner in the state room lounge (we tried booking a table 3 days before our arrival) as we would have liked a change of restaurant for one of our nights stay.
I think we got caught at a busy weekend as it was the weekend before Valentine’s day and there was a lot of young couples staying there.

Loved the manor of the staff and the facilities were second to none.
We went for some relaxing time, in particular the spa. My fiancé is heavily pregnant and was looking forward to jacuzzi which was unfortunately shut
