About this cottage rental
Truly a beachgoer, fisherman, boater and sportsman haven. Everything nearby to enjoy during your vacation!1 bedroom cottage w/ queen; sunroom w/ trundle daybed ( 2 twins, recommended for children); fully-equipped, eat-in kitchen, washer & dryer, heat, AC units & ceiling fans. Bathroom with shower, toilet & sink. In addition, cozy & private detached guest bunk room has a full-size bed, AC unit and electricity. Large deck with propane grill overlooks oversized lot in quaint community of Snug Harbor. Outdoor enclosed hot water shower, lawn games, beach chairs & umbrellas, boogie boards & fire pit. Walking distance to marina, yacht club, marina food & fishing shop and grill, neighborhood food and fresh fish market, right-of-way boat launch, deep-sea fishing charter boats; tennis courts & ball field. 1.5 mile car ride or 1.33 mile walk or easy bike ride to East Matunuck State Beach. Also nearby are Narragansett, Charlestown and Westerly beaches and renowned restaurants, clamming beach, salt water marshland as well as historic Wakefield, Theatre-By-the-Sea, Narragansett, Block Island Ferry, Newport, Adventure Land, deep-sea fishing charters, kayak and bicycle rental, Ninigret Park, Watch Hill, Misquamicut Beach and paved bike paths. Connecticut casinos and Mystic attractions 45 minutes away. Cottage is clean, updated and well maintained with coastal decor. Pillows, bed cover, bathmats and blankets are provided. Renter must bring own towels, bed sheets & pillowcases. Inquire about linen & towel rental by contacting the cottage keeper @(401) 255-3418. Jess will assist you in customizing your towel and linen order. There is a separate charge for towel and linen rental. Basic cleaning products are supplied. Renters responsible for supplying own paper products (bath tissue, paper towels, tissues, etc.), laundry cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products & firewood. Propane is provided by owner for grill. Rental season opens May 17. Check-in time is 3:00 pm; departure time is 11:00 am. Academic-year rentals considered, limited to 2 tenants; contact owner for rates.

We enjoyed our stay in the lovely neighborhood of Snug Harbor! We had amazing weather, and the breezes effectively cooled the little cottage (a heat wave might have been an issue). Thekitchen was well-stocked, and basic cleaning supplies were provided. The check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the house had a thoroughly written welcome book. There were no urgent needs for us to contact the host during our stay, and the house was adequately cleaned. The neighborhood felt quiet and safe, and our kids enjoyed playing in the yard in the evenings. We enjoyed the walk to the marina, and we drove the short 5 minutes to East Matunuck Beach (just more convenient and a little safer with small kids). Although we did not need to contact the host about anything, future improvements might be replacing the one bedroom door, as it cannot shut all the way. The front door also could be a bit finicky with the security lock (not sure if an issue with the security lock or door itself). We were able to lock it, but it needed to be double checked and sometimes took several tries. The outside shower worked excellently, although we did need to use the inside shower on occasions due to weather and it seems that the heating element may need replacing. The separate room/shed combination was not needed by us, but we appreciated the beach chairs and boogie boards that were available inside. Great beach location and quick trips to towns like South Kingstown, Narragansett, and Wickford!

We stayed here for a couple of nights and overall it was a 3.5* experience. The cottage is very small and charming. The location is stellar, the beach was just a five minute drive and there were plenty of restaurants within 15 minutes.
We missed the part on renting sheets or bringing them which is why I won't ding them on that point, but the top comforters hadn't been washed since the last visit as we found hairs and could tell by their fragrance they didn't smell of laundry soap. There is a Walmart and TJ Maxx within 20 minutes so we made it happen for a small investment and a trip to town.
The place would be perfect for two adults and two kids, the third bedroom is actually out in a standalone building which one side is a shed and the second side is a bedroom. There is a window with an AC unit, but it is just a room with a bed, you have to go into the main house to use the bathroom. I wasn't too keen on allowing the kids to stay out there by themselves nor would I have had their grandma stay out there either.
Overall, it was good. Gas grill, fully stocked kitchen, I think if we were staying for a week, we could have been cozy and enjoyed the outdoor space, cooked a meal or two, and used the outside deck more. The area was very quiet after 8pm.
We loved Skips coffee shop, the desserts at Capt'n Jacks are outrageously good, and we drove to the town beach one day and east beach the other. We preferred Easter which had a lovely surf and a fantastic pavilion.

My son and his family joined me and it was wonderful. We played games with them outside on the grass, we never used the pool, but saw one was available. The bathroom as advertised is small, but the outside shower makes up for any issues there!
The only thing I may have misunderstood was the proximity to the beach. I thought I could ride the bike to the beach, that was not really possible as it was pretty far away and no sidewalks or bike lanes. But we had a wonderful time with the children. Thank you Barbara and family for allowing us to stay in your family's cottage.

We had a wonderful stay in Snug Harbor at Barbara's cottage. Our family (me and my husband and our 5 and 13 year old sons) and found the cottage was perfect for our needs. Easy access to the beach and nearby Matunuck neighborhood and we enjoyed outings to Newport and Narragansett. Barbara was easy to communicate with!

The cottage was pleasant but we were surprised and not prepared to find no towels, no sheets, pillowcases, bath soap, shampoo or conditioner. The beds were comfortable, the cottage nicely decorated and the location was really nice. Breakfast down at the marina was delicious and gave you a slice of the local life. Very nice!

We enjoyed a wonderful night at the cottage after spending the day sight seeing in Block Island. The location of this house is perfect for anyone wanting to travel to Block Island (about a 15-20 minute drive depending on traffic) or to the beach (about a 15-20 minute walk). We had dinner at Matunkuk Oyster Bar which is a must while visiting the area, again a very easy 10 minute walk (use the cut through on meadow street as suggested by the owners). I wish we had more time to enjoy the house but we REALLY enjoyed the outdoor shower. Set in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, the house pretty much has everything you need for a quiet getaway. Owners were very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay again (for longer). Thank you for a great parents night out/ anniversary celebration!

The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cook wear. However...
The shower head was AWFUL which made it difficult for kids bc the water spray was painful to them. There were no curtains in the bedrooms so our children were awakened by the sun at 530am. We would have liked to use the TV, but it was so small we did not even bother using it.

It was a great location with a lot to do
The cottage was adorable. I had two issues, the grill was filthy, under the grill was covered in grease and I cleaned it all because I didn’t want to be held accountable for it. Second, the separate room had lots and lots of outdoor insects. Overall it was a great place to stay.

Perfect Cottage for Vacation.
Perfectly located in Snug Harbor! Quaint and quiet neighborhood close to East Matunuck state park. The cottage is very nice with lots of room inside and out. So close to all the beaches, restaurants and charter boats without the crowds of tourists. . Only thing I would change would be to add another full bathroom to accommodate 6 people. Lovely little cottage. It was in a good location for easy access to the sights we were wanting to see. We stayed out and about; visiting many of the beaches, state parks, Newport and the Breakers. We found many fantastic restaurants and enjoyed our time in Rhode Island!

Snug Harbor Gem
This was perfect for me. Short walk to the Snug Harbor Marina store and breakfast/lunch restaurant. Open kitchen/living room. Two bedrooms (one a solarium and one in the shed--very comfortable). It has a nice deck and yard with picnic table and a fire pit.

A nice family spot
This cottage was great. It had a nice outdoor shower, yard, and fire pit. It was close to the beach and about 15 minutes from the block island ferry and Narragansett. It's not super modern, but we loved having a nice spot in a nice neighborhood. The host was really understanding and flexible about my arrangements - a very nice woman and great to deal with.

Great little cottage
Traveled to RI with my husband and 5 & 8 yr kids and we enjoyed the area and home very much. The home worked well for our small family. Kitchen is small but had the essentials coffee pot, toaster, a couple of pans, we made breakfast but ate out or had take out nightly to make life easier. The beach was great and everything was easy to get to. Thank you for hosting us!

Cute cottage in a great nook of southern RI
Cute, functional little cottage. Clean in all of the essential places, although I noticed a few less-than-clean areas as well. Comfy beds, responsive owner. If you are a serious cook, the kitchen may not meet your needs, but if you plan on simple meals it should serve your needs. LOVED the outdoor shower, loved riding our bikes down to the marina for greasy-spoon breakfast and penny candy, great to have access to beach chairs and boogie boards. Lots of trucks going to marina early in the day, but overall a quiet, lovely space that is a great value.
