Come and relax with a glass of wine as you sit on your patio in your charming cottage. Located less than 5 minutes from Route 6, you are in a central location with easy access to Hyannis and the beautiful towns and beaches of the Mid Cape area, yet also close in either direction to the Outer Cape, the Lower Cape or the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Your cottage getaway is tucked away at the rear of our property lot in West Barnstable, Massachusetts in a lush garden setting. Love at first sight!
Oh my, I really don’t want to tell the truth in this review as we want this as our very own special spot in the Cape, and we don’t want to share! That said we must be fair to the wonderful couple who own this sweet little Cottage on the Cape, as they deserve nothing but the best.
Simply stated you are unlikely to find something nicer on the Cape at this sensible price point that feels so authentically Cape Cod. Yes it is small, but it feels grand, with lots of room for a couple or a small family and every touch feels just right. So much wonderful stuffed into a small space with a private back patio overlooking the woodland to BBQ and relax on after a day at the beach.
You will without a doubt love your stay, but please don’t book this property as we want it for ourselves… only kidding folks, don’t let this one get away, book today!!
A very Special thanks to Susan & Ned for the special treats and the wonderful hospitality.

ideal Cape Cod Cottage
Apple Tree Cottage in West Barnstable is the ideal place for two adults to stay when you want to explore all of the amazing sites anywhere on TheCape. Susan is a delightful host and has everything prepared - plus treats - in true Cape Cod style for her guest. We are so happy we decided to stay at this amazing little cottage! It is perfectly situated in the mid-Cape area making it the ideal starting point to anywhere on the Cape and Historic Route 1a (which is a must travel route). The cottage is just perfect! No detail has been missed, and the owner, Susan has not missed any detail to make your stay enjoyable. It is peaceful and quiet, there is a wonderful back patio where you can sit and enjoy bird watching with your morning coffee. We will definitely save this VRBO listing for our future trips to The Cape! Thank you Susan for providing such a lovely cottage on The Cape to rest and relax.

Great base camp for Cape exploration
Perfect for one or two people. Gracious hosts and peaceful site. Bedroom upstairs has steep steps up--fine for me but worth noting. Good restaurants nearby!

Perfection!
This cottage is like something out of a story book abd Susan was such an amazing host! She thought of every little detail. My mom and I look back at our week long stay in Barnstable as one of the highlights of our year. Even though we had inclement weather, we still enjoyed thrift shopping, finding treasures at the flea market in Sandwich, walking through the charming towns all along the Cape, a history/ghost tour, great seafood and a fire on the beach. Thank you, Susan, for being part of our memories.

Adorable cottage, great location
Everything about this cottage—including the owners—is completely charming. It is well equipped and packed with information about restaurants, ferries, buying fresh eggs—much too much to list. The icing on the cake was the hoot of the great horned owl at bedtime.

The cottage is really sweet, well cared for and comfortable. The back patio was idealic and the kitchen had everything we needed for relaxing evenings after long days out. Perfect Cape Cod experience
My husband and I spent a week in Susan’s cottage and loved every minute of it! The cottage is located in a great spot on the Cape - its off beautiful 6A, as well as a quick drive to Sandy Neck beach (we enjoyed watching the sunrise there a few mornings), and in a central location making it easy to get to other towns on the Cape. The cottage itself was stocked with all the necessities and was charming both inside and out. We were very cozy and comfortable. Thank you Susan for such a wonderful spot and great recommendations - we hope to return in the future! :)

Perfect cottage for a Cape Cod visit!
The cottage is perfect for a single or couple with a quiet location, tucked at the back of the host's property, in a wooded surrounding. Being right on charming and scenic highway 6A, the location provides easy access to everything there is to do on the Cape. The cottage has complete Cape Cod charm and is perfectly appointed with all the essentials. The staircase up to the very comfortable bedroom is a bit steep and tight, but easy to navigate -- just take your time! :) Susan was a wonderful host with great suggestions for restaurants and things to do. When we return, (...and we WILL return!!!), we will definitely stay at the cottage again!

Lovely little house in a pretty location
We really enjoyed our 4 night stay in this gorgeous little house. Susan made the booking, arrival and departure very easy. The house is well equipped and comfortable. We loved sitting on the patio having our breakfast and listening to the birds. We went on a great whale watching trip from Barnstable and caught the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Also had some good meals in Hyannis (Black Cat Tavern), a Mexican in Falmouth and an Italian close by in Sandwich. Cape Cod is a beautiful area and we would love to return.

A beautiful home away from home
This lovely little cottage was our home for 2 weeks, last September. A perfect cozy nook for 2, just a few minutes from Sandwich, Barnstable and Hyannis. From this spot we visit all of Cape Cod, picnicking on the beaches, visits the towns and markets, before stopping at a great grocery store in Barnstable to pick up a dinner to be prepared ont he BBQ and enjoyed on the terrasse. Susan, our host, was welcoming and caring, steering us to the best sites. We highly recommend this cottage.

So Charming You fall in Love Immediately
A fairy tale cottage. Exactly my style and I loved it from the moment I stepped in . The host is extremely nice and accommodating. It is furnished in a perfect style for the Cape. Charming...absolutely charming. All the amenities you could possibly ask for including bikes and beach towels and the best pillow I have every had. Tracking it down as we speak :>) Adorable little patio which I used for coffee every morning. The privacy is unusual at the Cape and I just adored this place. Absolutely will come back someday. A sanctuary for those of us who want our time in a quiet place with lovely surroundings. Could not have been a better choice for me.

My fiancee and I spent a week recently at this beautiful cottage. Susan made us feel very comfortable right from the beginning. She was always available to help us and answer our questions. The cottage is very clean and has everything you need. The location is perfect if you want to go anywhere in the Cape, in Boston or even to take the ferries to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. The surroundings of the cottage have everything to make you relax and live the Cape Cod atmosphere. We would definitely recommend this place and think of going back in the future!

Lovely cottage
My sister and I rented this perfect little cottage for two beautiful weeks in july 2015. It was lovely, exactly our style and just as nice as in the pictures. We spend two weeks of relaxation and exploration of Cape Cod. Susan welcomed us to the cottage with wine, cheese and crackers and made us feel right at home. She was very helpful pointing out various sights that might interest us and also left a basket full of flyers and booklets with all kinds of activities for us to do. We can definitely recommend this cottage if you are looking for a restful place to stay, surrounded by a beautiful garden in bloom.

This cottage made my vacation so relaxing and comfortable! It is in a very convenient location to the beach and to Hyannis, and also a central location in Cape Cod. The owner, Susan, was the best hostess and could not have been more sweet and accommodating. I would highly recommend this cottage, and I will definitely stay here again to my next trip to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

The cottage is really lovely, and everything is prepared here for you to stay, to cook and to have a rest.
The location is really great : not far from the beaches, just on the charming road 6A and close to the highway to Boston ; it's very easy also to get to Hyannis (and the boat to paradise of Nantucket).
But above all, Susan's hospitality is beyond all expectations. We really enjoyed speaking with her so long. About what to do in the area, she gave us all the guides, advices and tips we needed.

This cottage is full of charm and character. Susan has thought of everything to make a stay here the best it can be. A great place for two people, it is convenient to off-Cape activities also. Cozy, clean, and comfortable.
