The cabin was perfect for our family of 5. We enjoyed being out of the busy area of downtown. We were slightly concerned arriving at night because it is back behind some businesses and we were sure we were lost but there are signs to assure you are on the right path. The bunk beds could use a little tightening but it wasn’t terrible. (Squeaky) overall we were pleased with our stay!!

I think we are 'one and done' on staying in Helen and next time we'd do a day trip, while staying somewhere else.
That said, here are some thoughts on the cabin!
Positives:
Convenient location - walking distance to the Betty's market (grocery store) and really walking distance to everything.
Back deck is awesome. Multi level decks, various seating options, creek.*bring bugspray!*
Having 2 bedrooms is a nice setup for families.
Laundry room.
Kitchen well stocked with coffee pot and filters, pots and pans, utensils.
The queen mattresses were comfortable.
Quaint decor.
Room for improvement -
So many cobwebs, in room corners and on lamps.. seems they'd be easy to knock down.
Very musty smell even in the cabinets and clinging on the dishes. ( they had air fresheners going in multiple rooms but the strong artificial smell didn't cancel the other smell)
Mildew issues in bathroom with visible black spots.
Bunk beds are so squeaky they can be heard from the other room. Any amount of rolling over, movement, or even just coughing causes them to start squeaking. (I see a review from 2021 that they've been like that for quite a while.)
We dealt with a rodent roaming loudly at night which affected my sleeping for the first couple of nights, but as soon as I reported it they sent out pest control who trapped it immediately. Great communication & responsiveness from the management.
Favorite activities were tubing, the mountain coaster, panning at the outpost, & Anna Ruby Falls.

What a great place to stay!! Everything was great, the cabin, outdoor areas. The stream running next to the cabin was perfect! Highly recommended and look forward to coming back!

My family and I truly enjoyed our time at this cabin and will be back!!!!
4.8
I highly recommend staying at Bear Creek Cabin! The stream by the cabin made for such a peaceful environment and the cabin itself is very quaint and cute. My family loved it!
4.8
The cabin was clean and cozy. The location was great as it's within walking distance to the main street in Helen, but felt very private since it's set back in the woods.

We had a wonderful time in Helen GA and this cute little cabin was the cherry on top! Great accommodations and perfect location to walk downtown. We loved having coffee by the creek in the backyard each morning! We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay but was disappointed they took out the hot tub.
4.8
The cabin is nestled so perfectly in the woods that it’s dreamy the sounds of the creek and the picturesque atmosphere is perfect from the moment you pull in it was breathtaking the cabin has everything you need even the plastic wine glasses was perfect the outside was decorated with every need you could ever want it was the perfect girl’s weekend get away
4.8
Cute cabin. Loved the back deck and the hammock. Definitely in walking distance to pretty much all the Helen activities.
Only complaint was the queen mattress in the share room with the bunk beds has a very significant dip in the center, uncomfortable for 2 people to sleep on.
4.8
Cabin was rustic and cute. Setting was a little weird being behind the fun center and not what we were expecting. It was not as close to the busy parts of town and definitely wouldn’t walk to get to the shops and restaurants. But it was very quiet and the sound of the creek was peaceful. Would be great to take a nap in the hammock in the warmer seasons! Loved the fireplace. Comfortable stay.
4.8
It was perfect
4.8
This cabin was wonderful! Absolutely lovely. Close to everything.
4.8
Some reviews state that the road back to the cabin is a little creepy at night… is a cabin so is better if located away from the town… still a very small walk , still a very safe location… enjoy it very much
4.8
Coming up from the Hot South Florida weather, we enjoyed the cold weather and fireplace/pit nestled in a woodsy environment. Perfect little cabin for a short “not-so-far away from home” getaway. Helen is an adorable little town.
4.8
Quick walk to town which was super nice, it is very private. If you’re walking back at night from town it’s kinda spooky walking behind the go kart place bring a flashlight.
4.8
The cabin was lovely, cozy, and tucked into the woods just as advertised!
Comfortable, clean, well-stocked kitchen, linens and the check-in check-processes we easy and clear to follow.
It was close to Main St/central Helen downtown as was advertised but was not easily walkable as we'd hoped given how close it was, and described to be down a long gravel road behind the FunFactory Center.
We had an older man in our group that has limited walking/mobility, would have done well if it were flat/paved and with some lighting, so we had to drive to downtown spots and pay for parking anyway during busy festival weekend.
But weather was great and a good time was had by all!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The view was beautiful with the fall colors and leaves falling. The grill was brand new and worked beautifully. Bed was comfy. Kitchen was clean and adequate - only suggestion would be a few more pots/pans options and cooking utensils, and a salt shaker. The swing, hammock, and light bulb lights outside were so enjoyable. And the stream! So peaceful. Loved the fireplace as well. We would definitely come back!

This is a lovely cabin tucked away in the woods in Helen, Georgia. Although very private, it is within walking distance to town. We enjoyed each evening by the fire pit listening to the stream that runs under the deck! The cabin is very well decorated & has all the amenities needed for a great trip. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking if you like. The cabin was very clean when we arrived and even had some essential items, i.e. Paper towels, toilet paper, and even some coffee. Anything extra needed can be purchased at Bettys country store which is within walking distance & has everything you need for a meal. Also check out Hoffers bakery right up the road.
4.8
The setting was beautiful, but lots of cobwebs above master bed that could have easily been cleaned by house keeping. We couldn’t get the inside fireplace to work, maintenance came once to help but once it shut off, they did not reply to our request for help turning it back on again.
The back porch/yard area and ability to ride bikes into town made this property.
4.8
The cabin is located right near Betty’s Country Store and was great to be able to walk into town instead of driving. You get the feel of being in the mountains without the stressful drive up those hills. The cabin is spacious with a great dining and living room area. It has a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of food storage. Living room AC made it a bit warm and humid, not sure if there’s a setting on there we missed.
The master has a dresser and a good size closet. The AC in there made it humid (we traveled in September) and the mattress could use to be replaced (it dipped in the middle) but we made it work by adjusting how we slept and not using a blanket.
The second room has a queen and a set of bunk beds. Queen was comfortable! Bottom bunk has about 16” of height to get into, so it’s a tight squeeze. The AC worked great in this room.
The washer and dryer worked great! Super nice to have that in house.
The back porch was huge! Has a beautiful stream right though the property. We didn’t use it this time around because it’s still mosquito season and also the spiderwebs scared my mom 😆.
Hosts were super quick to answer my questions. Had a great time in Helen.
Thank you!!

Exactly what we needed for a quiet father/sons weekend in Helen.
4.8
Property is set back in a wooded area with a shallow creek running along the house. Very quiet and secluded, yet within walking distance of Helen (less than half a mile to downtown). The only downside was the internet buffering during movies (not a big deal, just frustrating). Air conditioning is via window units, but the house is cool and comfortable.
4.8
This little gem was quite a surprise. We weren’t sure as we make the turn onto the rental road, but as we turned in the driveway we saw a cute little rustic German cottage. The backyard deck and living area was quaint and so relaxing. It was very close to town as well. We found it quite walkable.
4.8
Great place close to Helen city center. The cabin sits in the forest and has a gurgling stream right next to it, which makes it feel as if you are staying in the wilderness. Nevertheless, you can reach Helen’s city center within a 10 minutes walk and therefore skip the parking lot fees. We really enjoyed this combination.
The bottom bunk is a bit narrow and more of a cubby, but the kids still had a great time. The cabin had everything we needed to stay comfortable. It’s a fun and rustic place to explore Helen and some of the surrounding attractions.
4.8
The location is great and very secluded even though it is within walking distance to some great food and Betty's Country Store.
4.8
The cabin was everything we needed for a brief getaway. The space was clean and well-supplied. We enjoy walking and too advantage of being able to stroll into the edges of Helen in about 5 minutes, which is particularly helpful once parking starts to be a premium in town on weekends. The little creek running under the back deck was incredibly relaxing.
4.8
My wife feel in love with is cabin and it is close to town. But the bed in the small bedroom is to hard.
4.8
Nice cabin
4.8
We had a wonderful experience with our private cabin getaway! We enjoyed the wonderful outside spaces that included several sitting areas and a hammock! The calming sounds from the creek were the best for an afternoon nap in the hammock!
Thank you!

Very cute cabin. The back area is SO peaceful and doesn’t feel like you’re as close to town as you are. It’s a half mile easy walk to Betty’s Country Store. We never drove into town except to drive to the Cool River outpost. It’s a super quick walk to the short ride drop off for Cool River as well. If we’d had our own tubes we could have just hopped in right there!
4.8
Good location. Walking distance to Helen. Clean. Relaxing environment
4.8
This cabin has everything you need for a relaxing and pleasant stay. It is the best of both worlds as it is within walking distance to the town and is very private. My family and I had a great time. We did not experience a single issue during our stay.
4.8
Loved the stream running through the back, and great location to town!
4.8
The cabin has all the essentials for a weekend/week stay. The backyard is amazing! We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the back porch while listening to the water stream.
4.8
Cozy little cabin tucked away from it all and yet so close to the town of Helen. The best thing was the deck with several seating areas and a creek running through.
4.8
Really enjoyed our first time in helen and also the cabin. Loved the creek in the back.
4.8
Great location- extremely close to the strip of Helen! Love how secluded it was. Amazing back porch!
4.8
We enjoyed the cabin. In particular the stream in the backyard. It was kind of close to what I think was a go kart track, but the noise ended by 9 PM usually.
4.8
The cabin has everything that you will need to enjoy your stay. It is within walking distance to downtown Helen. We love the creek running around the back porch. The sound is wonderful. although this cabin is nothing fancy and very basic it will be our choice of stay when we return to Helen.
