Beautiful place, beautifully furnished, beautiful views, friendly staff, great food. Beyond expectations. The city itself was very disappointing and, frankly, not worth visiting.

gorgeous property with spectacular views right at the entrance to San Sebastián. rooms were very well decorated and cosy. staff (particularly Andres) were attentive. Food was very good….Definitely returning for a longer visit

The property and gardens are beautiful. The inn has an on site restaurant with a chef. However the restaurant is closed on Tuesday. We did not know this until after check in.
The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. They will prepare you basic food but no menu. I would also recommend bringing your favorite wine. There were stock issues. Also the breakfast is not included in your room fee. Room Internet and TV were not reliable. The common area internet was good.

I thought the breakfast could have had a bit more variety... expecially some fruit.
Initially our room did not have hot water, however the staff correct4ed it by the evening!

The decor, the view, the food
There was no towels in the bathrooms. For the rate they should have a kettle and tea complimentary. No phones in the room neither hallways, we were on the third floor (no elevator) and when we need something we need to go downstairs to ask for it.
The restaurant is amazing but the kitchen close at 8pm, super early.

Everything amazing. So delighted with our stay, one of the best all around.

The location is great and surroundings beautiful. The Parisian breakfast with the bread and specialty jams is delicious. I had a hot chocolate at dinner (it was so cold out on the patio) and it was very good and warmed me up.
This is my second time at the beautiful Villa Nogal. My first time was excellent, that is why I returned. I was disappointed to learn that my request to have two rooms together was not accommodated, even after receiving a message that it would be. I also learned on arrival that we needed reservations to eat dinner. It would have been good to know ahead of time. We waited a long time to be seated, then where seated outside (it was real cold). Blankets were offered to a group that came after us, but we were not extended that offer. It took a bit too long to receive food and drinks. The service was not the same as my first visit. Maybe because they have become more popular and are unable to keep up with demand at their restaurant, which is open to all and not just guests. Also, I was charged extra when I asked for more towels. There were three of us in a room and we only had two towels.

Love the location, they have the best staff ever. A 5 diamond quality no doubt. Super spacious rooms, the food in the restaurant is amazing.
I slip with the rug next to the bed because of wooden floors and i was a little tipsy.

The location is great, with beautiful views. Rooms are spacious and have great toiletries.
Service was poor, nobody at reception when we arrived an hour early and then told the hotel doesn’t open till 3pm. Nobody advised that restaurant hours were not as posted on the website and then had to argue to get service. Horrible smell of drainage from the bathroom all night and again in the morning. This is essentially a restaurant with six rooms and does not have the service mentality of a real hotel.

Beautiful views. Lovely restaurant and room. A great get away from the Vallarta heat.
Three days after we checked I received a WhatsApp message from Cynthia, the manager, accusing us of taking items from the room. When we replied that we had taken no such items that message was deleted and an apology followed saying they had sent the message to the wrong person. This is inexcusable.
Also, the safe in the room was locked and staff were unable to open.
While we there the stairs were not cleaned. Dozens of dead bugs piled up in the mornings.
The last couple things aren’t a big deal. But the accusing WhatsApp message!!!
Very unfortunate.

Garden, furnishings and views
No parking other then the street. If you have an expensive automobile, good luck leaving it outside, there is, if you find a place to park. With that in mind, it makes uncomfortable to walk in the property with your luggage and if it is raining… worse.
Their website needs work and updating. Had to use a third party to book instantly. No listing of their menu on the website and had no wine list. For the wines, the waiter shows a limited selection and odd enough, you have to ask for prices… make it easier on guests, print a list of your 5 or so wines available and present to your guests.

Comfortable, great location, great service, and delicious food.

A really beautiful property, incredible in every way.
On a personal level I found the bed to be too soft, not everyone will feel the same but with a compromised back I found it to be painful.
The restaurant, the views, the grounds, the staff, the access to SS.

The entire experience is wonderful, great attention to detail.

Everything else was PERFECT. The room was beautiful!! The food is amazing and the staff was wonderful. The views from the hotel are spectacular. If you don't stay at hotel atleast go eat here, you wont be disappointed.
My only suggestion, add a waste basket in the room. The only small waste basket was next to the toilet. I had to get a bag and make my own, I like to put trash in its place and not all over my room.
