About this house rental
The base rate is for the MAIN HOUSE ONLY (4 bedrooms). Guest house (2 bedrooms) is an additional fee. Our stunning glass house, featured on House Hunters International, was designed by an award winning architect and sets a standard of quality in beautiful Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Located in an extremely private area, yet close to the beach and all amenities, and with 6,000 square feet of overall indoor and outdoor living space, this sophisticated and spacious retreat is “one of a kind”.
Our concierge will be at the villa to greet you on arrival and will gladly arrange your airport transfers, the first chef meal, pre-stocking the house with groceries and booking any of your excursions and tours prior to your trip. Our concierge will also stay in contact with you throughout the week to make sure that you have everything that you need for an amazing vacation.
Our housekeepers (Flor and Eliza) will be on the property from 8am to 4pm daily (except Sundays) to tidy up the house. Our groundskeepers on property (Mauricio and Helberth) will be on property each day to maintain the property, but they can help you with everything from luggage to spotting monkeys, sloths or toucans. They will be on the property each day as needed and will gladly open and close up the house for you each morning or when you go out. If more privacy is needed, contact the concierge and your request will be accommodated.
Chef Ana will be available for up to two meals per day for up to six days of a seven day stay (or all days of a five or six night stay). Cost of food is extra. A chef's assistant fee of $300 will be added to all groups of 10 or more guests.
The house sits on over two (2) acres of lush, tropical scenery - basically, a glass house in the jungle, yet close to the beach. The tiny titi monkeys are daily visitors on the patios and you'll see plenty of macaws, toucans and sloths on the property. The main road (618) in Quepos/Manuel Antonio is located just 200 meters from the front gate. The closest restaurant is just outside of the front gate and to the right. This makes it very easy to pick up some local Costa Rican food very quickly. There is a private beach called Playa La Macha that is situated directly behind the property that guests can walk/hike to (which can also become a great workout) for beautiful scenery.
Our private concierge will meet you upon arrival with gate remote controls and keys to the house.
The base rate is for the main house only, which accommodates up to 11 guests in 4 bedrooms. The main house is very comfortable with 8 couples if they do not want to share any bedroom space. For those wanting to share space, the master bedroom has a king bed and a twin daybed in the room. There is also a bedroom that includes 2 queen beds that can sleep 4 guests if sharing space.
For an additional nightly rate of $400 + tax, a separate 2-bedroom, 3-bathroom guest house can be rented, allowing up to 16 total guests on property. This house is on property and steps away from the main house, but is completely private and includes a kitchen, living room, swimming pool and expansive outdoor deck. The guest house is never rented separately to another guest. It is only used for overflow for the group that is renting the main house.
The houses sit on 2 acres of beautiful jungle and lushly planted gardens surrounding the compound. The completely gated grounds, with an electronic gated entrance and parking for up to 3 vehicles, are spectacularly illuminated at night providing a magnificent nighttime ambiance.
From the main house, you can meander down a beautiful garden pathway to the separate casita with it's own eat-in kitchen, living area, large outdoor deck and infinity pool – The ultimate in privacy!
With three points of entry, there is a man-made walking trail throughout the property with a beautiful yoga deck where guests can enjoy some "zen" time and to get even closer to all of the amazing wildlife.
There is space for up to 3 cars on the fully gated property. Within 5-10 minutes, guests can drive or take a taxi from the house to Manuel Antonio National Park, any of the beaches, Marina Pez Vela and many shops/restaurants. Many of our guests choose to walk to the marina or into downtown Quepos because it is so close; although the house is centrally located between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Our concierge can assist guests in contacting local taxis for pickup. Almost all excursions that are booked will also include transportation. Rental cars can be delivered to the house and picked up from the house as well.
Once your booking is accepted, please e-sign our contract. A 13% Costa Rica VAT tax is added to all bookings.
The base rate is for the main house only for up to 11 guests (if sharing bedrooms), which includes 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms with a total of 1 twin bed, 3 king beds and 2 queen beds. No more than 11 guests are permitted in the main house. The separate guest house can be rented for an additional fee per night (to either spread out OR to allow up to 16 guests total to share space). The guest house includes 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a living room that can be converted to a bedroom with a twin bed, upon request. Advance notice will need to be given so that the twin bed can be assembled and placed in the guest house living room prior to arrival.

We had a great family vacation, enjoyed by all ages from 14-75. Eco tours, zip lining, deep sea fishing arranged by Lenin were delightful. The staff kept the property in great condition. Chef Ana(and her staff ) is worth every cent- she introduced us to the local cuisine, cooking her favorite dishes and enthusiastically prepared the yellowfin tuna that was caught on the fishing trip. Anything we requested was prepared without hesitation.

One of the top 3 trips I've ever taken! I have traveled extensively worldwide and stayed in some great hotels, but Villa M takes the cake. I had been looking all over Costa Rica for a house to rent for my birthday with my childhood friends. I have been to Manuel Antonio before and enjoyed it. I must have looked at over 40 homes online for months and kept going back to this fantastic property. The pics do not do it justice. It's well-kept, beautiful, and has such a special vibe. Rocky, the owner, made it seamless and easy to plan and went the extra mile to ensure my and guests were taken care of. She even provided a cake for my birthday, which was a very thoughtful touch. She makes you feel at home in her home! The whole staff is wonderful, and you can tell they enjoy what they do. Starting with Lenin, the house manager who we were in contact with weeks prior. He was beyond thorough and, again, like Rocky, made everything easy. He helped us plan food, transpo, and zipping. While at the house, if we needed a taxi, reservation anything at all, he always picked up and made things happen. He's incredible. Chef Ana was super friendly, and her food was great. She has a great vibe, and we loved having her around. Same with Flora and Mauricio, the other amazing staff. Tons of monkeys came to visit, and we had the spa come to us at the house and got massages. Though the house is not on the water - it's a short drive to local beaches and the main beach or a hike down to Playa La Macha. Warning it's a HIKE, and it was a lot in the heat. I would not advise older people to do it. It was a dream trip. If you're on the fence just book this property, you won't regret it.

The Villa Mariana is simply wonderful. We traveled with 3 families totaling 16 guests. There was plenty of room for us to gather and to have private space when desired. The setting is amazing- the fauna incredible and the monkeys were very entertaining.
The staff was amazing, especially Chef Ana and her assistant- they made traveling with a group of 16 soooo much better!! Not having to prepare meals OR do dishes/ cleanup- that was a true blessing to us!
We had 5 adults and 11 ‘children’ of various ages from 9-20. Everyone was happy- our 10 year old has already asked when we will go back- he said that ‘our of all the places he has been, this is the best’.
We greatly enjoyed the hike to the beach- it was a good hike, not for sedentary folks, but very worth it to experience more private beaches.
We did quite a few excursions, but still had plenty of time to relax at the house.
Cannot recommend it highly enough!

This was a perfect home base for our two families with active teenagers. 9 of us and booking the guest house allowed everyone their own room and space to relax when we weren't out rafting, ziplining, surfing or exploring. Hiring the private chef was a luxury. The cleaning staff in particular kept the place in great shape, which is no small task with lots of teenagers - surrounded by monkeys - in the tropics.

Two families with 2 children, we spent a week in April 2022 at the Villa, and had a wonderful time. The house is as described. The staff are wonderful. We were so delighted to see so many animals as we relaxed by the pool. We saw squirrel monkeys as well as capuchin monkeys, macaws, toucans, and even an ant eater. One of the morning routines was looking to see which tree around the home the sloth had moved to overnight. The beds were comfortable, and the AC in each bedroom kept the temperature comfortable for sleeping. The concierge, Lenin, made everything easy. It was a wonderful vacation and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this home.

We had a great time. The staff is truly incredible. The house could use a small face lift, the kitchen is pretty old and they need more silverware, fresh utensils, both for cooking and eating, etc. Bathrooms are up to date and so is rest of house. The water feature can be a bit dangerous if you aren't paying attention. Two of the 4 adults slipped and fell right outside the house on entrance to the pool. If you had smaller kids, I think you would worry. Ours are ages 9 and 12. The beach is definitely a hike (a bit treacherous at times for small kids) to get to, but so worth it, since there are very few other people going to it. The waves were just right for our kids to not be too scared. We played in the ocean for hours. Chef Christoper was amazing. We had such good meals. Hazel, the concierge, couldn't have been better. Flor, the housekeeper was a godsend. I can't believe what a difference a vacation makes when you don't have to think about cooking and cleaning. What a luxury, for a week, to splurge on. It was awesome. Thank you!!

Such a wonderful week at the villa Mariana! We enjoyed watching sloths & monkeys poolside, loved walking the trail behind the home, appreciated the proximity to everything we did (beaches, excursions, shopping), & the staff were lovely. Already looking at dates to return!

This really was just as beautiful as the pictures. The pool is great and the staff were very helpful. It’s about 2 and half hours from the airport, but it’s worth the ride. Hazel was great and did a great job booking our excursions. Definitely worth the price.

Villa Mariana is an extraordinary property! The home itself is stunning, and the staff is incredible, keeping the house immaculate, the property well kept and the pool clean and warm. Christoph, along with his team, made the most amazing meals. From omelettes for breakfast to huge buffet dinners, we felt like we were dining in a 5* private restaurant. Hazel, the concierge, worked tirelessly to book cars, tours and a very special project we participated in. We didn't have to think or worry about a thing! The squirrel monkeys and sloth that visited the property just added to the magical ambiance. Please note that the main living areas don't have air conditioning and can be uncomfortably hot. Other than that one issue, we had a perfect week! Our advice: experience the Pura Vida of Mariana and JUST GO!

Incredible family vacation

The house is in a beautiful setting surrounded by wildlife. It has all the modern conveniences and a great staff. A bit of a drive from San Jose Airport but well worth it.

This was a dream vacation! The location was not only peaceful and relaxing but also breathtakingly beautiful. Staying at The Villa Mariana was like staying at a luxury hotel without all the other guests. We enjoyed a private pool, chef, and concierge services. The staff went above and beyond to make our experience better than we could have imagined. There are many excursion options available as well. So whether you are looking to spend a lazy day by the pool or zip lining through the jungle, this destination has it all! Needless to say, we will be back!

Everything was great. Our kids loved it. Staff was great. The concierge was super helpful when planning and Lara also helped us when we were there. Chef Christopher was amazing and was awesome with our kids! We saw three different types of monkeys, sloths, toucans, and macaws, all from the pool. A nice walk to Quepos and the marina. 5 minute taxi to Manuel Antonio and beaches.

We’ve stayed at the Villa Mariana multiple times and it’s by far our favorite vacation. The house is tucked away in the middle of the rainforest with beautiful tropical plants and tons of wildlife! Villa Mariana won’t disappoint! The house is beautiful and pictures don’t even do it justice. It’s a must see!

Villa Mariana is the perfect place to use as a "home base" from which to see everything Costa Rica has to offer. It's convenient - in the hills just above the Quepos marina and just down the road from the National Park - and it's also the perfect place to relax. The staff and food was incredible too! A big thumbs up to everyone who made our stay an enjoyable and memorable one! KC

Will definitely be coming back! Great house with the best staff ever. They could not do enough for us!

We had a great stay with two other couples in this one of a kind home in Quepos. Check out the pics of the house online - as good as they are, the actual home was even better.
The property itself is gorgeous. It's in a secluded area so you do not see your neighbors only rainforest. We had monkeys visit on several days, as well as a sloth in a tree for two days, a big iguana in a tree, macaws, toucans, a giant grasshopper or two and other very cool Costa Rica critters.
Our stay was made much easier by the top notch staff. Chef Over did a truly wonderful job with our meals. My personal faves were the lobster night, coconut crusted fish, and seafood paella. The daily housekeeping and yard man or "Juan of all trades" were a huge plus. The staff was attentive and kind and we found them to be great ambassadors of Costa Rica.
We utilized the property concierge to help with a number of questions before arrival and also to book two excursions. The excursions - 10-in-1 ADR and River Tubing- are highly recommended by our group and be sure use the concierge to book! We also booked inhouse massages for our entire group and we enjoyed it so much we booked a second massage.
We had a couple of meals out and found each restaurant to be very good. We also enjoyed the local bar/restaurant that's a very short walk from the front of the Villa - Restaurante el Arado is nice spot for a cerveza or two!
My wife and I walked every morning into the town of Quepos. We walked into the downtown district as well as into the neighborhoods surrounding it (especially the neighborhoods). I'd highly recommend getting out to do this. This allowed us to interact with real Costa Ricans (we do not speak Spanish and most of them did not speak English) and we found them to be very kind and helpful. We also attended Sunday mass at the Catholic Church (yes, in Spanish) and found the church and service to be wonderful.
All in all, we weren't sure what to expect with this journey to Costa Rica, our first time in Central America. We ended up loving the experience and look forward to making it back very soon to The Villa Mariana!

We had a group of 10 staying at Villa Mariana for our wedding. It was the most amazing experience ever. Chef Over made the most incredible meals. Flor cleaned and did our laundry so we could return with a suitcase full of clean clothes. Juan was so helpful around the house. He aired up the floats for the pool and helped out with anything we needed. The house is gorgeous. We had monkeys visit every morning. Rocky and Kyle, owners, are so involved in the entire experience. Hazel, concierge, was extremely helpful in organizing transportation. We couldn't have asked for a better trip. We are looking forward to coming back to Costa Rica! You won't be disappointed... book your trip immediately! PURA VIDA!

Gorgeous property with everything you need! I can't say enough good things. There is a view from virtually every spot in this house! The staff was wonderful as well. Pair this house with all that Manuel Antonio has to offer and your have a dream vacation. We will absolutely be back, but not soon enough!

This has to be hands down the perfect spot for a couples get away or family trip. The Villa Mariana is in the perfect location to take advantage of what this area has to offer. Hazel was the perfect concierge, helping us to plan all of our expeditions and making the most of our time in this beautiful house. Juan and Flor took care of our every need at the house. Our trip would absolutely not have been the same without them and the AMAZING food and service from Chef Over. We will be definitely go back to the Villa Mariana.

A lovely home for a relaxed week with friends. We spent everyday in the pool, played games on the patio, did a few excursions (rafting, zip lining, catamaran) and enjoyed the fabulous food prepared by Christopher and Elias. Juan and Flore the groundskeeper and housekeeper were exceptional. They all took such good care of us. I would definitely NOT recommend for children. As you can see in the photos, there is open channels where the water flows through the house. We got used to it, but it would not work with small children. I also am glad we didn't know about the scorpions before we went. We did have one in one of the upstairs bedrooms on our last night. The monkeys were an added form of entertainment. The sounds of the howler monkeys was fascinating and the sugar monkeys that came up to the deck were so funny. Lots to enjoy in this jungle environment. I wish there was a view of the ocean, but we did find a great view at the Mariposa hotel. A fun place to go for drinks at sunset.

Everything about this place is pure relaxation and absolute heaven. As long as your children are over the age of 6, and can swim, this place is ideal. Toddlers won't survive, but our family had a fantastic time swimming, relaxing, viewing the wildlife and getting treated like royalty by our personal chef.
