L'emplacement est bien situé, petit déjeuner de qualité et copieux, hôtel calme et agréable, ce n'est pas une usine à touriste.
Personnel à l'écoute et agréable

Comfy bed
Good air conditioning
Boring basic breakfast
It has no lift, for a 4 star property charging these rates this is unacceptable

the staff were so helpful, great location, shower pressure was the best and the beds were so comfy.
Ricardo was particularly helpful & so friendly, thanks Ricardo!
nothing, it was brilliant for the few days that we stayed.

Loved the pool area and the staff were great and very helpful!
Some of the rooms are quite dark with small window so found it a little difficult to do make up with the dark decor and soft lighting
Other than that it was lovely

Struttura molto accogliente

Petit-déjeuner extra, je me suis régalée.

The breakfast was ok. However, there could well have been some more toppings, possibly some salami. There was only one type of cheese and one type of ham, and when you consider that we were in Portugal, it would have been nice to have just one more cheese and ham, to choose from. Furthermore, the selection of tea was very limited/boring, especially compared to the fancy coffee machines that were there.
Regarding the rooms, there was a lack of light. We could hardly see anything in the room even if we turned on all the lights. A ceiling light would have been nice to have. We only had a small window, so even if we draw the curtains, it was still very dark in the room.
Furthermore, there was a lack of storage for our clothes. There was a cupboard with 5 hangers. No shelves or drawers. So we had to keep most of the clothes in our suitcase. It can of course work if you only have a single night, but we had 6 nights, so it was a bit of a hassle when we had to get hold of our clothes.
The bathroom was fine, there was plenty of space for our toiletry bags/articles. However, it was somewhat difficult to switch between the ceiling shower and the hand-held one (the holder for the small shower was broken).
An absolutely fantastic and beautiful pool, which we used several times during our stay. The only downside was that there wasn't really a drying facility for our swimwear and towels in the room, but it worked.
Please see above

This hotel is not of a four star standard.
The communal areas of the hotel are very dark.
The light in the room and bathroom are minimal and I could not apply my makeup in the bathroom and my husband couldn’t shave.
Our towels were not changed on the second day.
The pillow were very uncomfortable.
Not much space in the room.
The room was boiling hot on our arrival.
The breakfast lacked fresh fruit (mainly canned fruits) no fresh vegetables. Every day there was the same food which was was not used by guests!
The hot buffet had a lot of processed foods.
The management should consider healthier foods such as natural yogurt, dry fruits, nuts, fresh fruit, natural cereals, fresh vegetables, etc.
The service in the restaurant for the evening meal was very slow and food was of very poor quality.
Royal Village Porto Gays is a joke! The hotel is far from everything!
I do not recommend this hotel because is very lacking!

Breakfast was very delicious, go early so it is still warm. Closer to closing some items got cold. Great selection. Property is beautiful and very clean. E stayed in a suite that over looked the city and water which was fantastic! However if you have any physical limitation to stairs or walking probably not the best place to accommodate those needs.
A staff member who worked at reception desk was fantastic in recommending excursions and restaurants and such for us to enjoy! Unfortunately I forgot her name but she has long black curly hair, glasses and not tall and always smiling! She was a great help! Staff on the first day were very accommodating and helpful with luggage and recommendations, and we appreciated that very much!
As written above- one reception desk woman with long curly hair and wore glasses, was extremely helpful to guide us on things to do while we stayed in Porto. Great recommendations on we’re to walk to, restaurants and excursions. One excursion she had provided a map and details of what it entailed and because of weather it was suggested that we would wait until the next morning to determine if we would take a 10:30am tour or a 4:30pm tour, involving an electric car and a train and then the boat to see all of Porto.
The next morning we called down yo book the 10:30am tour and the staff was not very helpful. The woman who was so knowledgeable was not working and the staff at the reception desk seemed disinterested and dismissive of help outside the hotel grounds. Being we had limited time in Porto, it was frustrating that they had reported that the train was not running, when it was, the excursion was not available when it was and when inquiries of what would they suggest was very confusing and we asked for a visual as they seemed discombobulated on options , we were told they had no maps and were busy checking in a group and we were left to our own to try to figure what to do that day. At one point after being told they had no maps, the gentleman offered a map of how we could do it ourselves and little guidance. There was a staff of a tall woman with long straight black hair, a man with straight short hair cut and both were not very helpful nor informative. We were told the train is not running and then told we missed the train? Very confusing but we made the best of it on our own.
Great property and just an advisement- not a place to stay if you are limited in walking up stairs or steps and the pool was very slippery getting as we witnessed two separate people slip on the steps getting in and out of the pool. One woman fell getting out and bashed herself and her leg and was bleeding.

The hotel tries to sell themselves as luxury 4 stars hotel but the quality of things in the rooms is terrible. The bed keeps moving, the window has a handle broken, the toilet is very very small and the shower has also handles broken. When I talked with the reception about it they said they didnt have anyother rooms. Also the parking is only free if you find a spot, which is basically impossible considering the amount of guests.

Staff was very helpful and breakfast was great, when the items are available!
Car park its a nightmare!!
In front was never a space, at back the cameras was not working, so they are not aware that you are at back gate to go in ou out of the car park!! You have to go on reception tell them that they need to open the gate, and on Saturday and Sunday no space's at back for our car, its a NO!!
On Synday was too many people for breakfast, so most of the food was not available at that time.
And the room, could be bigger, i felt a bit clostrofóbic with suh a small room!

Staff all good, parking good, Breakfast good, free shuttle downtown
2 day stay, one day of which we had toilet issue and not fixed properly until next day, location of toilet paper roll wasn't the best.
We were in main building and no elevator to 2nd floor, luggage carried up by staff which was great but we carried down

The reception staff was nice and the area of the swimming pool is nice too although there are works around. Best part of it is to have a swimming pool in a hot day.
Breakfast was very bad in general, bad choice of products, instead of fresh fruit they give you fruit in siroup. Orange juice isn't fresh in a country where they produce very good oranges!!. Tables were not clean enough as the rest of the breakfast room. The room had stairs, bad choice when you have kids, but was the only one left, beds were ok but the Air Conditioned did not work very well and the room, which is under the roof was very hot. I clearly do not recommend this hotel if you have kids. Parking spots are very limited, difficult to park, you have the option to park it on the street or aparently in another parking for 20€ night.

Very comfortable room.
Lovely little bar!
Great breakfast.
The best receptionist out of 14 hotels on this trip….she should teach the other receptionists we came across!!
Access to pool was tricky and it was cold…not many seats….but new pool being built while we were there.

The breakfast was good. The bedding covers were comfortable. The staff came to the room to help us with the A/C.
There wasn’t enough lighting in the bathroom.
The room should have been cool once we got in.
The hotel didn’t have ample parking.

Cleanliness
The room / property is in desperate need of an update / refresh. We were also disappointed that the complimentary city shuttle that was promoted with signage out front wasn’t operating as “the driver was on vacation,” & no options given on how to get to Porto. We were basically on our own to figure it out.

lovely room comfortable bed great towels and toiletries
very very clean staff very helpful too
the last night there was a big group of schoolchildren there who were noisy and disruptive at midnight
that was NOT the hotels fault
3.0 / 10.0
Good buffet breakfast.
Our room was not available when we came to check in at 17.00 because the hotel had allowed a French tour group to book out late. We waited another 90 minutes before we were able to access our room. The free shuttle bus which had been extensively advertised and was the reason we booked this hotel had been withdrawn because the driver Ricardo had been re- allocated to work on the Reception. This left us with a tedious uphill walk of 20 minutes to access the nearest public transport. The swimming poll and garden area was closed and barricaded off due to long term building work. The lighting system on the stairwells and corridors was dangerous. Too late to turn on and too fast to turn off leaving us fumbling in the dark. No drawer space for clothes in the rooms. We were unable to use the room safe as it was locked and there were no instructions on how to use the safe. The senior management of this hotel were rude and arrogant when the above shortcomings were brought to their attention.
