Step back into the charm of Old Hawaii in an authentic renovated plantation home of Hale Ohana which means Hawaiian for Family Home. Hale Ohana is unique because it retains "Old Hawaiian Style", but offers all the modern conveniences. This well-kept home is spacious with custom bamboo floors, tiled bathrooms with a large shower, upgraded appliances in a well-stocked kitchen. Sleep comfortably. in our new luxurious bamboo mattress for the queen bed and two twin beds.
Relax on the front deck while you enjoy an island sunset, or have a BBQ in the large back yard tropical retreat with fruit trees and a view of the lush mountains. From the home you can walk to Dole Square and browse through the quaint shops. Or swim free at our local heated pool surrounded by tropical grounds. Soak up the sun at Hulopo'e Beach which is a protected marine reserve...best spot for snorkeling and watching spinner dolphins. Rent a jeep and explore the unspoiled charm of Lanai. If you want simple living and to experience old Hawaii then come to Laid-back Lanai. Please no Hunters or Construction workers. Until confirmed rates are subject to change without notice. Hale Ohana's contract with the rules and regulations must be completed, signed and received with payment prior to arrival. Check in time 3:00 pm; Check out time 11:00 am

This is a beautiful home. We were greeted with a nice gift basket with coffee and chocolates. The home is great with lots of space perfect for a couple or small family. It is close to restaurants so we walked in the evenings to dinner.

My family enjoyed the home. It is well maintained and quite picturesque. The kitche. Is nicely appointed and the furniture is very accommodating. The location is great and plenty of parking. We’d love to come back to Lāna’i and stay ere again soon

Excellent location to walk to town for groceries, Fifth Friday, shopping. The home had all conveniences and was very comfortable. Decorations lovely. Light sleepers may have to rise early due to fire station and construction trucks on the road during a hotel remodel up the way but that leaves more time to enjoy Lanai. It was a wonderful visit.

Great little house!
Clean house, very comfortable, TWO toilets (1 shower), nice well-stocked kitchen. Good detailed instructions for everything. Ceiling fans made it comfortable even when the weather is on the warm side. It could easily sleep 6 in my opinion, the fold-out futon looked big enough for two. Property manager was friendly and easily accessible although we didn’t need her because everything was fine. Hose out back to rinse off sand, two vacuum cleaners in case you miss some (that sand gets in EVERYWHERE). Cute welcome basket with coffee and macadamia nuts, nice touch. Tap water tastes fine for drinking. Hard to find anything negative at all to say. The only remotely negative thing I can even think of is that the dining chairs were a little tall which makes them a little uncomfortable on the backs of your legs, but they’re very nice chairs, and the taller members of the group said they were fine. Great house, we would definitely stay there again. We had 5 people in our group, and once you figure out the per-person price it’s quite reasonable. We had a delightful stay! Thanks Donna!

wonderful Lanai
This was a super clean, well maintained home to base out of. Full of everything you need to make your stay comfortable. We were glad, however, that we had use of a jeep as it's on the edge of town. We would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant vacation
The house lives up to previous rave reviews. Nicely maintained and decorated. Television works perfectly, which seems unusual for rentals. Never turned on the one in the bedroom. Excellent new washer and dryer.
We liked having two toilets even just for the two of us!
Neighbors were noisy partying two of our 14 nights, but not over the top.
We'd likely choose the same place if we return to Lanai!

Lovely home in Lana’i City
We spent three days on Lana’i and really enjoyed our stay. Donna’s home is perfect- comfortable, well-furnished, spotlessly clean and well cared for. Even though it faces a “busy” street, on Lana’i that doesn’t mean much:-) We enjoyed being able to walk to the town square and the several restaurants as well as the two grocery stores. Mahalo for sharing your wonderful home.

Wonderful home in Lana'i City - Highly Recommend
We chose this beautiful home for our stay on Lana'i and couldn't have been more pleased - Truly one of the best rentals we have ever found on VRBO - it was easy to find, comfortable and well appointed. Lot's of thoughtful extras from the owner who truly cares about her renter's comfort. Lots of windows and fans to cool if needed and plenty of bedding if it is cool - very central on the island and easy to navigate to anywhere on the island - we have used dozens of VRBOs over the years and can honestly say this is one of the best - we will definitely come back - owner was wonderful to work with - can't say enough good about this rental - you will not be disappointed. highly recommend!

Lovely Bungalow!
Really comfortable, spacious bungalow in a great location. Easy walk into town to shops and restaurants. My husband and I were a bit leery about renting a Jeep and driving on unpaved roads. Very happy with that decision. Rabaca’s picked us up and took us all over the island including a half day tour of the more rugged terrain. Just tell them you’re staying in the bungalow across from the fire station and they’ll know exactly where to come! We loved Lana’i and really loved Donna’s bungalow! Hope to return!

This is a beautiful home and a great base to experience Lanai. Check in and out couldn't have been easier, and the owner has done a great job putting together a lovely spot to call home while you explore the island. All amenities needed to enjoy a relaxing couple of days were taken care of. The home was clean on our arrival, and instructions for use of the home and check out were readily available inside.
Staying in an authentic plantation home means you won't have AC, but the home has several ceiling fans and opening windows. Even with the atypical humid weather we had we were able to sleep comfortably.
The owner was also quite helpful with the small amount of local advice we requested, and I know she was available if we needed her for anything more (which we didn't!).

A real home from home
As soon as we arrived we felt at home - so comfortable and clean - walking distance to the town square - can't recommend highly enough - everything provided for a great stay.
