About this house rental
Do you want to relax & enjoy one of the best long-range views in western North Carolina? Yes, those photos are taken from the house!
Do you want to be in the woods and in a safe, private wooded setting but still be close to town? The Asheville area has a lot to offer, but you might not want to leave the house.
The home is an up-to-date, very well-kept, very well-equipped, comfortable, spacious, two-story home in a private mountain community just 13 miles/20 minutes from all of Asheville's charm & attractions.
It's easily accessible year round, but still secluded. The elevation of the house is 3,450 feet and affords one of the area's most spectacular long range, year round views.
Enjoy the view from the 1,000 square foot, multi-level, wraparound deck, the hot tub, or from inside the home. Set on three quiet, wooded acres of mountain laurel, rhododendron, oak-leaf hydrangea, blackberries & many other native species.
The house is full of artwork and craft from local and regional artists and from the owners' world travels. There are dozens of pamphlets and books describing the many things to do nearby including The Biltmore Estate, The Blue Ridge Parkway, some of the best and most famous hiking trails in the world, and all the wonderful food, art, and music Asheville has to offer!
The deck is huge and that's where the views are. There's a hot tub, a grill, lounge chairs, Adirondack chairs, and a dining table and chairs. You may never want to leave the deck. It's perfect for morning coffee, evening cocktails, or al fresco dining.
Asheville has excellent food of every type, many live music venues, art museums and galleries, antiquing, and every type of shopping. Local craft, art and music are easily accessible. Asheville isn't too big or too small. It's just right!
The driveway to the house is a little steep in two spots, at the entrance which is paved, and about halfway up the driveway. It's a safe, well-maintained gravel driveway. Every type of vehicle is able to get up the driveway easily. A four-wheel drive vehicle is not required except during heavy snow or ice storms. Check the reviews and you'll read that it's not an issue. If you have questions please contact me.
Unfortunately the house is not set up for younger children. It's not unsafe by any standard, it’s just suitable for adults.

Property filled with needed amenities. Hot tub and deck were favorite spots. Drive is moderately steep but accessible and the view is worth it!

This was our third visit to this beautiful home and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for lovely surroundings and a peaceful setting. David is a very gracious host and the minor issues we had with the tv and smoke alarm batteries were remedied quickly. Twenty minutes to downtown Asheville gives you the best of all possible worlds. Treat yourself to this wonderful house.

Our stay was incredible - the Mountain views did not disappoint! Bed and sheets were by far the most comfortable of any rental I’ve stayed in. The well equipped kitchen allowed us to cook many family meals together. It is evident this is truly someone’s home you are being invited into and it had a pleasant warmth to it. Place was spotless clean and property was silent other than the sounds of nature. There are such a plethora of windows in the main areas and bedrooms it felt like staying in an atrium someone’s (which we loved). Thank you for a lovely vacation - we look forward to staying again!

My sister, brother and I wanted to spend Xmas together away somewhere. This was a great choice! The property was great and Xmas at the Biltmore was magical.

This place is special!!
Was very impressed with house location and view was especially spectacular during peak fall color in Asheville area. House is comfortable and immediately felt like home. It is also exceptionally well stocked and has everything you need for cooking.
David was very responsive and quick to respond to all inquiries.
Would highly recommend house and anticipate returning in near future.

Our second time staying here. We love this house and location. Owners have thought of everything. We’ll be back again! Thank you again for sharing your lovely home!!

Beautiful home tucked in the woods with beautiful Mountain View’s from the back deck. Tricky turn up driveway but owner’s tips /tricks in making the turn were helpful. Everything you could need was at the house except a few groceries, that we picked up nearby. Almost everything we wanted to do was within a 20 minute drive. Tuns of breweries, hiking, art district, The Biltmore Estate, Black Mnt, & more! We were hoping to see a bear, but we did not. Would definitely recommend this property, especially if you want to be close enough to all Asheville has to offer but far enough away that you feel secluded. “Best of both worlds “.

We loved our stay! The cabin was clean, homey, & comfortable. We enjoyed the isolation and quiet surroundings of being in the woods. We were only 20 - 25 mins. away from all of the places we wished to go in the Fairview and Asheville areas. We would stay there again and highly recommend this rental.

By far the best part of this property is the deck and the breath taking view. Great location and plenty of room for our family of five adults.

We loved our stay at the mountain home of co-hosts David and Ken. The location is amazing! Beautiful mountain views in a secluded location but only 10 minutes down the mountain to grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. The proximity to downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway was a major plus. In Fairview, we recommend dining at The Local Joint (breakfast/lunch), Smokey and the Pig, and Whistle Hop Brewery (they have food trucks daily). For adventures, we recommend the Skinny Dip Falls and Linville Falls hikes. If you go to Chimney Rock, don't miss out on walking the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge! We also recommend taking a guided bus tour of Asheville at the beginning of your stay to get the "lay of the land". We did the Lazoom "Hey Asheville" tour and it was hilarious.

We LOVE this place. It is our third, but definately not our last, time renting from David. The views are absolutely gorgeous and deck is perfect for hanging out. The house is always spotless and full of nice amenities. Feels very isolated, but is close to anything you might want to do in the area. Highly recommended.

We met my Cousins for a long weekend in the mountains near Asheville, NC. This rental is lovingly cared for and was lovely and comfortable. We took advantage of the fireplace, stocked with wood, the lovely views from the spacious deck, and the robes and the hot tub on the deck. Exceptionally attractive and well stocked with everything. We would strongly recommend this place to anyone! Wed also love to go back.

We came to the Asheville area for the 1st time to hike the Blue Ridge Mountains and wanted a quiet retreat with beautiful views of the mountain range. David's property is the perfect spot for a family or couple getaway. The deck, hot tub and interior of the home were just as advertised, and even better than we expected The kitchen had everything you need, and the master bath overhead shower was the perfect end to a long day of hiking. Thank you David for sharing your beautiful home.

My husband and I stayed here for five weeks. It was absolutely wonderful! The views are amazing and there are plenty of great quality, comfortable seating on the wrap around porch. The owner is super accommodating and has truly thought of most everything. The house is very well stocked with anything you’ll need. We saw bears almost every day. That was an awesome experience!!
We will definitely be back! Thank you David for everything!

Wonderful quiet home with incredible mountain views!
We really enjoyed our stay here as we attended a seminar in the area. It was great to come home to such peace and quiet and sit in the hot tub and look at the mountains. The home was very comfortable and had a well stocked kitchen and comfortable furniture and beds. David was a wonderful and responsive host when we had some questions about the hot tub. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area! Thanks so much!

This house is so well stocked! It was so convenient to Asheville and we loved coming back at night after a long day of hiking or walking around Asheville and sitting in the hot tub overlooking the mountains. We also loved the little town of Fairview and the restaurant, the Local Joint!

The property was absolutely beautiful to stay at. The house was well supplied had everything you needed for your stay. Coming back to the house to relax and seeing the spectacular view from the deck while utilizing the hot tub at night after hiking to waterfalls or walking around town was so nice. In Asheville there are plenty of restaurants to choose from no matter what your taste are. Also some really good breweries to visit! The turn to make the driveway is a little tough. Had do perform a K turn to make it up the driveway. A little steep but the view is worth it. The only complaint would be to trim all the brush back on the driveway area so it is not scraping against the side of your vehicle. And yes we saw the bear 3 different times during our stay. Didn't bother anyone, it just passes near the house around dusk. Awesome stay.

Amazing views!
Wow! What can I say? This property was wonderful. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and this one was so well-stocked with everything you could need.
The views were amazing and we loved spending time on the deck. The weather was perfect. What more could we ask for...we even had a "beary" curious guest on the deck for breakfast one morning.
Thanks for everything, David!

Awesome Getaway
We wanted to enjoy the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains in secluded, beautiful comfort and we found it! The house was very comfortable, clean, and well stocked in the kitchen. Couldn't see or hear any neighbors as we enjoyed the beautiful deck and hot tub. Lots of wood for the fireplace kept us warm on the chillier nights. David was a great host, responding to questions quickly and the location was perfect for enjoying hikes in the mountains, or meals in town in Asheville and Hendersonville. Missing it already :-)

Stayed here on our honeymoon.
This was our first time using anything like Vrbo, we were used to hotels so for us the feel was different, at first, then a little time went on and we fell in love and couldn't say enough nice things about it. You can tell David pays attention to detail. We would come back.

We had a fabulous ladies getaway where we combined relaxation while also visiting nearby Asheville attractions just 20-30 minutes away. The home had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed star gazing while in the hot tub overlooking the spectacular mountain views. Communication with David was easy throughout and he had a notebook with details. They provide all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well supplied so that we could easily prepare meals. The Wifi worked well and we easily streamed Netflix a few times.. We advise planning ahead with groceries, but there is an Ingles grocery store once you leave the mountain. He provided clear instructions to get us to the home which were needed, as once you entered the neighborhood the GPS directions were not accurate. The way to the property is steep so we advise arriving in daylight hours the first time and especially if you are not accustomed to driving in mountainous areas. The spectacular views and perfect home makes the journey up the mountain well worth it!
