About this house rental
The bay front cottage sits directly on the beach amid windswept pines on the sandy dunes of Delaware Bay. Enjoy unobstructed water views and gorgeous sunsets over the bay from the private patio, or from the spacious open plan living/dining room with picture windows on 3 sides. Take walks along the beach, bike along the shore or launch your kayak in front of the house; you may run across a pod of dolphins.
For a change of pace, visit Victorian Cape May, located just 8 miles south, with its ocean beaches, quaint shops and restaurants. Or head over to Wildwood, 8 miles east. The kids will love the large ocean beaches for body surfing and skim boarding and the amusement rides and waterparks on the boardwalk.
After a full day of activity, return to the tranquility of the bay front cottage. Fire up the grill for a BBQ or prepare dinner in the fully equipped kitchen. Watch the most amazing sunsets over the water while having dinner on the private patio or the dining room. Then star gaze or view the moon rise/set from the patio while roasting marshmallows and listening to the lapping waves.
The house has central A/C, WIFI, and cable. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare meals and has a full size refrigerator , stove and dishwasher, and a washer and dryer are in the laundry room. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The living room has a full size futon and a queen size sofa bed. The living/dining room has picture windows on three sides, allowing unobstructed views of the beach, the dunes , the water, and amazing sunsets over the bay.
The private outside patio is just off the living/dining room and has the same amazing views. There is a teak outdoor dining table and a couple loungers. A Weber grill is provided for grilling in season. The outside shower has hot and cold water.

We loved staying at the beach cottage! Paula is truly an amazing host in every way! The place was clean and has all you would ever need. The sunsets were breathtaking, cannot wait to stay at this peaceful getaway again!

We needed a much needed relaxing few days , and that’s exactly what we got. The most beautiful weather possible. The property was very clean and we had the best few days.

We enjoyed our little getaway in this great little oasis. The outdoor space is wonderful with the hammock in the trees and the beautiful views. The horseshoe crabs on the beach and the sludge in the bay water didn't make it an inviting place to swim or relax longterm, but we enjoyed walks to the sandbar and the beautiful sunsets. It's extremely quiet and a quick drive from restaurants and Cape May beaches.
My only suggestion for improvement would be to upgrade the space. It's very dated.

We enjoyed our stay so much, even my nephew had a great time. Quick and easy drive to Cape May and Wildwood. Everything you could need and want are right around the corner.

Although the interior was a bit musty smelling it didn't bother us much because everything else about this place was wonderful. It was a quiet neighborhood, about a 20 minute drive from the heart of the town of Cape May. The trees and shrubs made it feel private and secluded, even when sitting on the patio.

The house was great, clean, had everything you would need! The view was the best, you don't have to leave to see the bay. Short walk to the beach, the beach was empty, we had it to ourselves!

You won’t regret staying at this cottage. The beach is literally in your backyard. The sunset is so beautiful! The house has everything you need. We did have to bring our own sheets and towels, and wash all our bedding, that would be the only downside. The house does have like an old house smell, which was easily fixed with some room spray. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this home to anyone.

The property was as advertised - clean, comfortable, fantastic sunset views and in a quiet location. It turned out to be about 20 min drive to downtown Cape May/Wildwood but was easy and had minimal traffic. Lots of close restaurants, breweries and grocery stores. Stayed with my wife and 2 young daughters (2 and 6) and we had a blast even with a total washout on day 2; walking out into the bay during low tide at sunset is, quite literally, one of the best beach memories I've ever had! We will definitely be staying again!

There are several things i liked about this property. I appreciated the preservation of the pine trees around the property. It kept the outdoor area private and cool. I also loved the hammock. The birds on the branches above, the rabbits hopping by. The house itself is historic but has all the amenities. It is right by the bay and as such is appropriate for nature lovers. Paula was prompt in communication via text, email and phone.

This was a great location for a pre-Memorial Day getaway to Cape May. Quiet, cozy and right on the bayside shore front. Hope we can return

We had the best time. Everything was clean and organized. The outdoor patio was perfect. Steps away from the beach. The sunsets were magnificent. Easy communication with the host. We will definitely look to book this spot again in the future

The living room gives a panoramic view in three directions; up and down the bay and at the bay!

We had a great weekend at Paula’s place. A classic beach cottage that is perfect for anyone who loves the beach/bay. Best sunsets right from your living room. We love the Firepit on your own personal beachfront! Cannot wait to return a third time.

Paula is an amazing host! Her place in the Villas has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing vacation. We just love it so much!

Comfortable place to relax and view the sunset and watch birds. We saw quite a few species from the property like Carolina chickadees, palm warblers, yellow rumped warblers, eastern phoebes, song sparrows, northern mockingbirds and beach birds like surf and black scoters, sanderlings, greater and lesser blackback gulls and herring, ringed billed and laughing gulls.. There was even a rabbit that showed up at sunset several days. We'd stay there again.

We stayed at this property in May 2022 and were so pleased with our experience, we came back in October 2023. The house is small, a few decades old, and comfortable. You have everything you need and everything is in good repair. The kitchen comes with pots 'n' pans and all the other tools to cook yourself a meal. The TV is new and big; you can even sign in to your streaming service if you have an account.
The best part is the ocean. This property has a back door that opens onto a little patio with a direct view to the beach and ocean beyond. With trees on both sides, it has a secluded feel so its just "you and your people" as the Vrbo ad says, haha. It's a quiet neighborhood so don't expect any wild parties going on. Perfect for a couple of introverts like us who just want to get away from it all.

This was our fourth time staying here and we love it there.
It’s an older home named “The Gray Lady”. It’s fully stocked with all cooking essentials you need. We bring our own linens and whatever food we want to cook. The location on the dune is perfect for the fire pit and beautiful sunsets. Enjoy!

My husband and I had a fabulous and quiet two day getaway in October. The views were spectacular and we enjoyed the very comfortable reclining chairs on the patio.
The views of the pines, sea grass and the ocean were truly memorable. The mattress was the only drawback, it was thin and bouncy.

House was just as expected from listing and was perfect! Everything provided with a quaint accommodations. Really wish I'd been able to learn more of the "history" on the property -- love the "vintage" feel! Sunsets were spectacular and the walks on the beach are what memories are made of! We're looking forward to another stay very soon!

Overall, this home was the favorite of the several we’ve stayed at in the past 6 years. The view is beautiful, the house had plenty of room for the two of us (my sister and myself), and provided everything we needed for a relaxing week. We love the quietness of late September, and loved having a view of the bay from our patio.

Can't beat a fire pit on the beach!

First off I want to say that the property has incredible INDIRECT bayside beach access, views and sunsets. It is quiet and quaint. The decor is kitschy and beachy which I love but overall unit is quite outdated and needs to be majorly renovated, noting that you don’t have the whole entire cottage as advertised, it is connected to another apartment by the back wall. The owners where actually at the rental when we checked in which I did not appreciate. Knowing they were there the same day physically and yet didn’t make the beds for us left a really bad taste my in mouth when I took the bedcover down before going to bed and finding that it was bare. The air make your own bed and breakfast. The patio area was gorgeous. You had to hop the fence or leave the unit through the front door to get access to the beach. There are kayaks there that are not available for guests, when I inquired about the usage she told me that her lawyer advised against it. The kitchen is very small as are the bedrooms. Mattresses are thin. It was convenient having a washer and dryer there. The list of rules and check out requirements were a bit much. Not sure why they require for the renter to do so much when they charge a cleaner’s fee and have cleaners. Overall I like the cottage and bay a lot but it was overpriced and outdated and was seriously lacking in hospitality.

Great location and wonderful property. The most beautiful sunsets only a few steps away.

Very quaint cottage overlooking the bay. Away from the typical hustle and bustle of Beach Town, Wildwood and Cape May. This property is situated within a very short 15 to 20 minute drive from both locations the property was very clean and we enjoyed the beautiful sunsets in the evening if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place.
