Expensive punishment, stalker mother-in-law
The size of the house and the sheep although they were very noisy and un-welcoming like the owners.
It was difficult to find the house after dark, no lights were left on even when we informed them of our late arrival. Hosts were cheap on electricity and the heating are timed and adjusted to not work. Each bedroom had a "unique" scent of people of specific ages. The owner's multiple family members had just used the house, the ground floor bedroom reeked of old people and upstairs bedroom of teenager's puke. The master bedroom bedsheet had ballpoint pen marks all over and a broken heater. The dryer pictured in the photo was removed and after we made a complaint to booking.com the owner removed the photo of the dryer. At first, we had all windows open to enjoy the view but the owner's mother-in-law living next to us started creeping and even sprayed toxic weed killer outside the open windows while we were in the dining room and kitchen. Subsequently, they needed to cut the grass for an hour in the back garden on their John Deere which would was such a tiny area it would be done in less than a minute. On the morning of departure, an old lady who smelled like the same wet dog scent in our laundry room on the second day of our arrival, approached me and started demanding for money for electricity bills. She asked me "what was i manufacturing" and i should have had the blinds up and go for a walk so i would use less electricity even though we went out most of the days during our two-week stay. The old lady said she had to go to the hospital and demanded a 100 sterling pounds in cash from us. The electric heating was so weak, we had to purchase four to five bags of firewood and could not dry our clothing during wintertime because they removed their dryer for their own use. On our last week of stay, they hid away the sheep. Extremely petty and cheap owners who can't afford to rent out their home with way too many people living there in poor conditions.

Country cottage
Cleanliness and well equipped. Lovely surprise of cake and milk on arrival. Friendly and helpful host.
Upstairs shower very small. But larger one downstairs is fine.

Superb
Great outside area for dogs. Lovely, clean, warm home. Homemade cake and milk on arrival. Well equipped. Lovely area around the property. Owners really friendly and helpful.
A drier would have been useful although clothes dried quickly on an airer in the house.

Lovely cottage, lovely walks, lovely weather, lovely wedding, lovely Lincolnshire!
Six of us rented the cottage for a family wedding in East Barkwith, and there was plenty of space for all of us (Mum, Dad, Grandad, two adult sons and a girlfriend). The cottage was very well equipped, and unlike some places where you get exactly six plates, cups, knives and forks for six guests, there were plenty of spares. The place was spotlessly clean, even more impressive when the reviews in the visitor book suggested lots of people brought their dogs - I'm not a dog person, but I'd never have known dogs might have been in the house. And there was enough hot water for all six of us to shower on the morning of the wedding! Demelza was happy and quick to help with our queries before we arrived, and Mary came to say hello just after we got there, and provided a delicious cake! The cottage is in the middle of the countryside, but Lincoln and the coast are within easy reach, and we did some lovely walks in the Lincolnshire Wolds.
The road up to the cottage is single track and very winding, although it was rare that we encountered any traffic. There were several potholes, although these were repaired just before we left! If you plan to eat out in the local pubs, don't try this on a Monday or Tuesday, as they all seem to be closed. Even on Wednesday it took us three attempts to find a pub that could serve us - this was the White Hart at Lissington, which we can recommend for good pub grub.

The upstairs shower was quite small and the Internet dropped out.

Superb
Was a really lovely place to stay, Mary the owner was helpful and left a lovely cake for us! The property was extreamly clean and had everything we could need plus more! The property is in the middle of nowhere which was perfect for us although the roads leading to the property could do with some work there were many water filled pot holes! Would 100% revisit this property.
