A Disappointment

It's well located near the Central Station and has old world charm

It's kind of creaky and lacks modern wiring. For the money I'd stay at the Doubletree nearby.

We had an amazing stay and loved every minute of it. We would defo recommend!

I loved how historical and clean the property was. It was in the middle of everything so great location.

The price for extras was a little overpriced if you ask me, but that’s the only thing I could say.

Ein Hotel für gutes und schlechtes Wetter

Sehr große Zimmer , sehr ruhig und central gelegen. Sehr freundliches Personal. Sehr schönes Schwimmbad und der Wellnessbereich top!

Das Möbeliar ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und könnte an der einen und anderen Stelle eine Auffrischung gebrauchen!

Probably more expensive than most places in Amsterdam, but worth it.

The staff at the front desk were outstanding. The place is beautiful, old with character and well preserved. Loved the spa. Nice free amenities in the room. Close to train station and the good stuff in central Amsterdam.

Our room was cleaned the first couple days, but not again for the last three.

Un hôtel intéressant, cher mais emblématique et différent des autres: mieux pour un court séjour.

Le bâtiment et sa décoration sont magnifiques et valent le détour si on aime l'architecture début XXème et l'Art Nouveau à la hollandaise façon Jo van der Mey. La chambre était spacieuse et, même si elle n'étais pas dans le bâtiment principal, elle était décorée avec goût et donnait sur un petit canal. Le salon pour le petit-déjeuner est magnifique. Le personnel était agréable mais inégal: la personne rencontrée lors du 'check out', tétra-lingue (Anglais, Français, Espagnol, Italien - vérifié), était exceptionnelle.

L'hôtel ne dispose pas de 'lobby' où l'on puisse s'asseoir, discuter, lire... les gens s'asseyent sur les escaliers de l'entrée, assez elle-même exiguë, ce que pour un hôtel de 4-5* n'est pas de très bon niveau. La qualité du repas du soir était médiocre, avec dissociation entre la présentation "visuelle" des plats, excellente, et le contenu pas à la hauteur. Le vin rouge "Tempranillo premium" mérite qu'un sommelier cherche un vrai bon Tempranillo, il y a des douzaines d'excellents vins de ce cépage à des prix convenables.

We had to change rooms after first day . There was no Internet in our Junoir Suite. It couldn’t be fixed . We moved to another suite which was better.

A fuir - Très mauvais rapport qualité / prix

Hôtel idéalement placé à côté de la gare centrale. Bâtiment historique de la ville Piscine et sauna agréables

Un accueil désastreux. Vous vous débrouillez avec votre valise On nous a tout d'abord donné les clés et la direction d'une chambre lugubre dans l'ancienne partie de l hôtel avec rideaux fermés sans possibilité d'ouvrir la fenêtre ni les rideaux. Ascenseur sans porte et pas d'accès direct au SPA On vous dit à la "réception" que c'est normal, le bâtiment est ancien et il ne faut pas leur faire part de votre mécontentement parce que ce n'est pas correct à à leur goût! Le responsable ne se lève même pas de son bureau. On sent franchement que l'on agace pour le moins et que l'on s'est fait avoir... Il faudrait dire clairement les choses au moment de la réservation si on ne veut pas mécontenter ses clients. On vous facture ensuite un supplément de 15€ par nuit en plus soit 279€ / nuit pour une autre chambre mieux mais toujours avec vue sur cour alors que c'est le tarif vue sur canal sur le site de l'hôtel. Les draps de dessous sont simplement posés sur un cache misère (sur-matelas) ignoble (plein de peluches et tâches) et vous vous retrouvez le matin avec la tête dessus sans le draps. Le gel douche vide n'est pas remplacé, pas plus que le peignoir qui a disparu (sûrement tombé au sol). Je passe sur l'irruption dans la chambre alors que je prenais ma douche ou la réservation de massage possible que 3 jour par semaine :) Bref on ne peut pas être et avoir été... J'ai eu la chance de séjourner dans de vrais 5* dans ma vie. Il est est vrai que le prix n'est pas le même non plus mais j'ai quand même un très mauvais arrière goût de cette expérience que je ne recommande à personne et on ne m'y reverra jamais.

Séjour de qualité avec en prime Taylor Swift!

Le petit déjeuner était incroyable! Le personnel est très à l’écoute et réactif. Mention particulière pour le gardien de nuit, qui fait son maximum pour régler des désagréments. La chambre était spacieuse, lumineuse et la literie était vraiment incroyable!!

Le seul point négatif a été de retrouver des taches sur un oreiller au moment de dormir.

Good value for money for Amsterdam

For Europe, a quite good hotel, almost in the very center, there was a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a sauna, a gym, I lived in a room overlooking the canal, it was quiet, the minibar was updated daily upon request

The hotel is far from new, the interior of the rooms is very simple for 5 stars, if you live in the building farthest from the reception, getting there is like a labyrinth, on the penultimate day of your stay I put things in the laundry in the evening and they forgot to wash them, as a result I had to remind them the next day and was able to pick them up after I checked out of the room

Good location, lousy hotel floor plan.

Location close to Central Train Station and within easy walking distance. Very unusual stained glass windows from this building’s previous past life. Really nice warm pool with jet in the basement. I had a lovely room in the back (809) that looked out over the canal.

It was a bit of a rat’s maze finding my way to my room and a really long walk. The jetted whirlpool tub was too cool to be of any use. The pool was the temperature that the hot tub should have been and vice versa. Hard to find your way down and back to the pool. I got lost twice. My room was a bit warm even with the air as low as i could put it so I left my windows open.

Perfekter gelungener Aufenthalt.

Trotz sehr zentraler Lage in der Altstadt lag das Zimmer zu einem ruhigen Kanal hin und war nicht von Lärm betroffen. Kurze Fußwege zu Amsterdam Central und meinen Terminen.

Average. Overpriced.

Location was great. Check in was easy and staff was helpful. The spa is nice and fully equipped.

Very small and dated rooms. No staff at the hotel lobby at night on multiple occasions. Design was not my favorite either. The television placement in the room was horrible (it was on the same wall as the bed's back rests - making it impossible to watch TV in bed). Very overpriced.

The room was bearable, but not acceptable for the price point.

Location was good. Spacious room.

The rooms were not cleaned well. Incredibly dusty and dirty surfaces. Lots of old cobwebs hanging from the ceiling over the bed. Dirty/stained bed sheets. Clumps of hair found in the fresh sheets Ripped upholstery in the room. We requested more toilet roll on the day of our departure due to it not being restocked in the room cleans. We asked at reception and was told someone would bring it up. 40 minutes later it had not arrived so we rang reception and they said someone will bring some. 30 minutes later we had to leave our room to check out of our suit and it never arrived. Very late in the day to be cleaned during our stay. For a 5 star hotel these things we not acceptable.

Расположение не плохое, но это не элитный район и лучше рассмотреть другие районы города, в зоне люкс бутиков например.

Не понравилось абсолютно все. Если вдруг вам предложат номера 900 и далее отказывайтесь как только можете. До этих номеров от входа идти минут 10 по отелю с пересадками на лифтах и многочисленными лестницами. В номере было очень жарко в течении всего отдыха. Никто ничего сделать не мог, да и не старались особо. Сам по себе номер не удобный, не правильной формы с двумя письменными столами, но при этом с мизерным шкафом на два платья. Старые полотенца и халаты, которые неприятно надевать.

Un séjour mémorable dans un cadre enchanteur à Amsterdam

Les chambres étaient très belles et spacieuses. Nous avions l'impression d'être dans un château. L'emplacement était également idéal, calme, vraiment parfait pour Amsterdam.

La seule chose que nous avons moins appréciée, c'était le fait que l'eau ne sortait pas de la baignoire. De plus, étant donné la période de fêtes, il n'y avait personne disponible pour la réparer. Le personnel a gentiment changé notre chambre, mais celle-ci était vraiment moins belle et moins confortable que la précédente, à mon avis. Cependant, nous vous remercions pour le changement de chambre

Ideal location but way too expensive and I would question 5 star.

Location perfect. Very comfortable bed. Nice shower and bath.

Super deluxe room not very super or deluxe. Tv only 3 channels. Car parking €70 a night too expensive for a carpark. €715 for 2 nights with car parking. I stayed there in 2014 and I can’t see any improvements since then. The mini bar used to be free but now they charge for everything so not impressed.

Bijzonder slecht

Badkamer was redelijk nieuw maar deed heel goedkoop aan. ontbrekende dopjes, slecht sluitende douchedeur (in bad douchen) locatie was top personeel behulpzaam.

Op de foto's lijkt het heel wat maar alles is echt heel erg oud en uit de tijd, liften werken slecht, ontbijtzaal uit het jaar 0, matig ontbijt paste er goed bij. En dan 460 euro per nacht vragen?!

The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever stayed in. The breakfast was bloody brilliant, and it was quiet! The staff( especially the lady at breakfast) was lovely!!!!

A fabulous hotel in the heart of amsterdam

The rooms were extremely spacious and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond I mentioned to them beforehand it was our anniversary and they went the extra mile and decorated our bed and left us a congratualtions note. The spa facilities were 10/10 with many different facilities to use.

Aco, de l'équipe du concierge, était très aimable et nous as aidé pour tout! La chambre était très grande et bien aménagé, avec tout ce dont on aurait besoin (et plus!). Points en plus pour le Wellness qui est très cool et a fait très plaisir!
