The food was superb both at breakfast and at dinner. The room was very comfortable and of reasonable size.
We found the very steep stairs to our room a great problem as we are in our seventies with balance problems. The bar and lounge seemed rather basic for such an expensive venue.

Every single member of the staff were incredible. The style and facilities at the hotel was incredible. Sitting on the lawn for evening drinks was fantastic, something I'll be coming back to do again. The restaurant was exceptional.
Nothing, everything was perfect

Amazing breakfast, lovely breakfast staff too.
My first nights stay at the hotel was absoutely perfect. The staff were all incredible. By the second night, on the Friday, there was a staff changeover and the entire atmosphere changed. They were not as professional and the bar staff were quite pushy to ordering drinks.

Breakfast - was excellent- the best we had during our week in the Cotswolds. Service very friendly and quality of food and service very good.
Perhaps the fact our room was right in the attic- but it was an excellent room with great facilities.

The rooms are really nice, as you would expect, but more than anything else it was the level of service that made this hotel stand out. Right from the start when someone came out to help us park when we were struggling to find a space, then the attention to detail during the afternoon tea, from suggesting which of the three locations we would prefer, to cocktail choices and then making sure we had more tea when it was needed. Again, in the evening, only needing a light supper, could we have some starters from the restaurant menu in the lounge, and then the cheese, yes of course no problem.
Just getting there through the narrow streets can be a challenge, and the parking on site is limited

The hotel is gorgeous with the views from the rooms and the gardens across the cotswolds just stunning. The staff were always friendly, the room was cleaned very well each day. The food across both the breakfast and dinner was top class and I can see why this hotel gets rave reviews for its dining. The village is small but very pretty with lovely walks available. We would very much stay again and if anyone wants that touch of class this is a place to stay.
The key area which lets the property down is the parking. Your not guaranteed a space with the only options being the side streets which are very narrow or you have the local car park. Certainly I feel they should make sure their residents have preferential parking which wasn’t the case when we stayed with day time / evening visitors taken up spaces. For the money the hotel commands they need in my view to look at this area.

Breakfast was lovely, although the eggs were very over done. The room was also lovely with fresh baked biscuits left for us. We had a king size bed, with plenty of tea and coffee supplied, with bottled water and a bottle of milk left in the fridge. The view from the room was beautiful.
Was woken on a number of occasions by wedding guests returning to their room in the early hours

The staff were exceptional and could not do enough for us. They were kind and attentive from the moment we arrived and offered us to move our afternoon tea when we arrived earlier than expected. My partner has a severe nut allergy and this was tended to incredibly well by all staff.
The location is exceptional with easy access to a range of Cotswold villages as well as larger cities such as Bath. However, if you would prefer to remain local, the hotel itself has lots to offer such as a choice of two lounges, a bar area, entertainment room as well as the terrace. The views from the terrace in particular are absolutely stunning.
Our room was incredibly clean and very aesthetically pleasing. We were very appreciative of the home made (allergy friendly) treats left in our room! The room also had a number of lovely touches such as sky television, a fan (which we were grateful for during the heatwave), QR codes with links to magazines and walking maps and also some wellies and raincoats were available in communal areas.
The calm and relaxed atmosphere made it a perfect setting for a romantic getaway. We cannot speak highly enough of our stay at The Painswick and we cannot wait to return!

Amazing place, super friendly staff, great food, comfortable beds and pillows, shower, wood burner.
Only one thing bothered me was the sound of the bar area in the George's suite. If you to bed before 11pm you can clearly hear it

- Location is very picturesque, the building and grounds are lovely. The room was warm but there was a fan which kept it cool and with the windows open it was fine and we slept well. Food was great and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place!

We loved our stay at the Painswick. The hotel staff were amazing, the bedroom was beautiful and the views were stunning. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, I actually didn't want to leave.
We are a couple in our early 30's who were looking to escape London for a night.
Thanks so much for an amazing stay. We will be back.
