the fact that they took us in so late. we were caught in the rain and freezing cold and we booked online on the spot with no issues.
the entire carpet was saturated and the bed was on the floor. the bed then became saturated as it soaked up whatever was on the carpet. the tiles were squeaking because there was water underneath them too. everything was damp and stank.

There was literally nothing to like
This whole experience was terrible.
The cleanliness of the room was a disgrace and no way it meets safety standards.
The TV didnāt work and didnāt have a remote - no channels even when done manually
Mould in kitchen and bathroom

Nothing. This hotel was disgusting and dirty. I donāt mind staying in an older style hotel as I have done many times before but it needs to be clean and free from cockroaches. It smelt really awful all down the hallway and in the room.
There were cockroaches running up the walls. We were only there for ten minutes before we said we wouldnāt be staying. The receptionist said that I needed to contact booking.com for a refund. I was told someone would be in contact by today but I havenāt received any correspondence. I was very upset with this experience and the health department needs to inspect this property.

The worst rooms.in the entire Melbourne. Water wasn't working, bedsheets had stains on them. Extremely ugly rooms. You are better off living on the street at night than to live here.

Absolutely NOTHING.
Absolute nightmare.
The "reception area" tells a big story - a disorganised, dirty mess and when you don't think it can get worse, you're then shown to your room. NONE of the furniture is what is shown in photos, a bedside table was an old filing cabinet, the bed wasn't even made, an old musty blanket thrown on and the mattress was sitting on wooden pallets no base. The single bed was a crusty old futon I wouldn't even let my dog sleep on and the mould everywhere, especially the bathroom was disgusting. Overall quite filthy, I didn't want to be standing in the room let alone sit down or sleep there. I declined the room with disgust to which I was told I could have my money refunded but I am yet to see it. DO NOT BOOK HERE. I feel like this room was already inhabited, with many creepy crawly legs and whatever else wasn't visible. Putrid.
Building needs to be demolished.

Staff member was lovely.
Lovely clean bedding
Shocking condition of fixtures and fittings. Bed felt like they had mattress upside down . Could feel all the springs. Radiator was on and couldn't be turned off. Toilet was blocked (I unblocked it because felt too unsafe to leave companion in room alone). Missing lightbulbs kitchen cabinets falling apart and stove top not clean

The location and staff were friendly
The state of the room. Dirty, light in the bedroom did not work, the sink in the bathroom leaked, no remote for the tv, could not find a knob for the radiator so could not turn it off. The radiator was noisy, the mirror in the bedroom was smashed. The door to the shower wouldn't shut so it would flood the bathroom. There was no handwash, and a strange smell in the room. There was a mess on the floor, it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed for a while. There was a brown stain on the duvet. It needs to be refurbished, the carpets were torn, it was not suitable for people to stay here.

The room was advertised as non smoking but had a strong cigarette smell, stained walls which looked like burnt marks.
The bed was uncomfortable and stained.
There were bugs in the room and the rats in the wall made loud noises at night.
Bathroom was moldy and furniture was in poor shape.
Overall it the room did not look like the pictures and did not fit the advertisement.

Nothing went well. This "hotel" is traumatising. There were huge bed bugs all over the bed. Why does Booking.com allow this accommodation on here? Is it a joke?
It is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, and I've travelled extensively. Please read the bad reviews. I stayed here around seven years ago and it was passable back then, so I didn't bother reading any reviews before staying here again when I needed somewhere affordable at the last minute. It is so much worse now than it used to be. I paid around $100 to stay one night here, and it was ridiculously bad and overpriced. I didn't sleep at all, because the bed was full of huge bed bugs. I couldn't lay down because of so many bugs, and I had a flight to catch at 5am. It didn't feel like a hotel, it felt like a nightmare. The room didn't feel like it had been cleaned and there was a chair randomly placed in the middle of the room when I entered. The vibe of the people living in the building made me fear for my safety. Don't stay here. It's kind of traumatising.

The street only
Everything was old broken filthy and not working. I mean everything from carpets bed windows blinds drawers wardrobe stove tiles in bathroom.
Absolutely Disgusting property it should not be on Booking.com site.
So OVERPRICED it should be given to the homeless for free.
We are very experienced travellers and this is the worst property we have ever stayed in around the world.

Affordable, tram along chapel st was close
The apartment wasn't comparable to the impression from photos and required maintenance, the mattress needed additional support as it would sink

Nothing
Cockroaches, powerpoint hanging out of wall. Nothing had been cleaned for a very long time. Do not stay here. It should not be listed as a hotel.

NOTHING and WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN
We didn't like anything about the place. First, there was an apple core on the floor, the bed had been slept in and the sheet and pillowcases weren't changed, the microwave oven was dirty inside, the kitchen draw had dried up food in it, the stovetop was dirty, the mirror door had smudge marks on it, the tv wouldn't work. the heater in the room kept on clicking, the floor covering didn't look clean. No tea towel to dry with and nothing to wash up with. The hallway carpet looked very dirty

The bed sheets is the only clean thing there
There was blood on the side of the bed to which the lady working tried saying it was coffee. The halls smelt strong of weed. The draws were broken and had a draw missing. The fridge was dirty. The mirror on the cupboard was off the hinges. I didnāt stay there it was too disgusting.

There was nothing I liked about this place.
This was truly a horrible experience. I left after one night and requested a refund for the other two nights, which they promised to do, but one month later, I am still trying to get a refund!
First of all, the photos on booking are from a decade or more ago! They show the rooms when they were new, because everything is outdated, beat up, old, and broken now!
It was full of roaches, vomit or some kind of stains on the carpet, cigarette burns on the bedding and floors, the window shades were broken so I had to get up on a chair to open or close the windows. I did not get a good look when I arrived, or I would have left immediately. There were also several strange characters hanging around the lobby. Someone was living out of their suitcase in the hallway. When I returned to my room after a day in the city, it was very late. Another guy followed me in and hung around the hallway for a bit, muttering, seemingly homeless. At that point I discovered that the deadbolt was not working, and the roaches crawling all over the kitchen! Needless to say, I could not fall asleep because my door would not lock and I was grossed out wondering if a roach was going to crawl over me! I immediately got online to send the hotel a message through booking and also had to book another hotel for the rest of my stay. I left the next morning. I would have left that night, but where to go at midnight in a city fo which you know nothing!!
When I left the ceiling in the office was pouring water down onto the floor from some leak! The man at the front desk was very polite and understood. He promised I'd get a refund. He said he received my email late at night and forwarded it to the owner, who promised my refund. He said the owner is aware of the state of this hotel.
I have more photos but can only upload 20.
