Sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt in diesem kleinen Hotel mit perfekter Lage

Die Lage ist perfekt: Bahnhof, Altstadt und Aquarium einfach zu Fuss zu erreichen. Im Quartier gibt es auch genügend Möglichkeiten zum frühstücken. Die Familie die das Hotel betreut ist sehr sympathisch und hat uns hilfreiche Tipps für Ausflügen gegeben. Und das 4-Bett-Zimmer war sehr sauber und angenehm.

Excellent location . Superb attention.

Being a historical building it is a nice experience. The historic ceiling of our room was amazing. The best of all was the ample attention of Patrick and Roberta. It was a very a nice thing to have a selection of teas, a kettle and a small fridge.

That being in a third floor not having a lift is very inconvenience , specially for elderly guests.

Very welcoming hotel

Personnel très aimable et serviable, très propre et calme. Frigidaire et bouilloire dans la chambre. Salle commune avec distributeurs et café+thé et frigidaire accessible 24/24. Gare et centre historique à 5 minutes à pied. Very nice and welcoming. Very clean and quiet. Fridge and kettle in the room. Public room with fridge, coffee and tea accessible 24 hours. Train station and Genova historic center at 5 minutes walk.

La solution de parking car ce n'est pas le parking de l'hotel mais un gardiennage automobile proche. On doit laisser les clés du véhicule et c'est compliqué si on veut se servir du véhicule souvent. Fermé la nuit. La zone n'est pas très sûre pour une femme seule car il y a des bandes d'hommes et des drogués dans les ruelles proches le soir. The car parking is not in the hotel, it's a garage where you have to let the keys of your car and it's not really convenient if you need to use your car often. Closed at night. The zone is not really safe for a woman alone because they are groups of men and junkies in the little streets around at night.

Posizione strategica, staff cortese e disponibile. Ottimo per soggiorni brevi

Sito in via Balbi, in posizione strategica per raggiungere la stazione ferroviaria di piazza Principe e quella dei bus in via Fanti d'Italia, come anche il porto percorrendo 10 minuti a piedi. Tutto il personale dello staff è stato molto gentile, disponibile e ci ha deliziato di una "dolce" piccola sorpresa. Gradita. Belli i soffitti decorati. Letto, stanza e bagno puliti...Quello che conta di più in una struttura ricettiva, non mancava.

La vista quasi totalmente muro non è stata il massimo e il parquet della nostra stanza è indubbiamente da sistemare e lucidare...dettagli poco importanti se la permanenza è breve e necessaria a girare per la città.

I was made to feel welcome when I arrived and offered a coffee and given helpful instructions on where to go in Genoa and what to see. The room was quiet and considering the heat outside bearable even without the air conditioning which is provided.

It is ok for a few nights

The hotel is located upstairs, 3rd floor, so when entering the house you have to climb quite some stairs. However, the hotel is very close to the Principe train station and only a few minutes walking from the centro storico and the harbour. I had a nice welcome from the owner. The room was spacious with a table, chair, wardrobe, and kettle. Overall it was very clean. The hotel also has a little open space with tables and automata for refreshments and food. There is no 24h reception but you can enter the premise with a chip. In general, the hotel is a typical Italian albergo so the furniture is not modern but some details like the frescos are original.

--- EDIT: Now that I see the response from the hotel (and checking other reviews) it seems that the owners are not honest. The dryer has multiple duct-tape and it is simply not pleasant and outdated. Due to my job I am in many hotels so I think I can have a perspective on this too. No one told me about the shower and of course I tried both sides and let the water run for a while. I was not even complaining, for one night was ok to shower cold, but I am allowed to tell it, right? The pillow sheet had a hole, if you like it or not but that's a fact. The towels are very worn out and needs to be changed. As pointed out already, and completely fine for me, is the fact that this premise is not modern and maybe there is a Corona backlog for new investments but I have the right to deliver my honest impressions and review. Multiple reviews from other guests also pointed out that privacy is an issue and it is true because it is an old door locking the room. For me it's fine but perhaps other guests are more sensitive. You can take the reviews and critics and work on it or you stay stubborn and argue with the guests. I still can recommend the hotel for a few days considering the points above. Personally, I will not come back. ---- Some facilities in the bathroom needs revision as some towels were just really used (clean though) and the hair dryer needs to be substituted, it is multiply duct-taped and not properly functioning. The shower had only cold water. The bed was not comfortable and the pillow sheet had a hole. For people with noise sensitivity the noises from other guests could be disturbing so I agree with the privacy issues that were mentioned in past reviews. However, as I pointed out, it is a typical albergo in a typical Genovesian house, so you have to adjust your expectations accordingly when visiting the city ;)

Quick responses from the staff. Great loction. Both close to the train/bus stations and the city center. Clean and cozy place overall. 10/10 would stay there again for sure.

some pictures on FB suggest that there is breakfast in the hotel itself, but go to Bar Balbi 103 for a perfect breakfast which is only 50m away, the owner is a very nice person.

Romantic and very nice room, the best location in city, very helpful and kind personal (owners).

The owners were always at our disposal, they recommend us beautiful places in Genoa and outside the city and answered us for our all questions. The room was very romantic. The location of the apartment is very close to center of the city and sea port and also in few minutes to railway station in Piazza Principe.

Classic, lovely family hotel.

Room was spacious and the ceiling was painted, it was wonderful! Very close to the train station. Easy walk to all of Genova, and really pleasant to walk in the area. The gentleman at the desk was kind, generous, made us feel welcome and gave us great instructions for seeing Genova around. Very traditional stay, someone came in and tidied the room when we were out.

It was fine for us but know that there are a few flights of stairs to enter.

Our host very kindly carried our heavy bag up and down the stairs on arrival and departure on his own, with a spring in his step. Remarkable! Also, fantastic painted ceiling in room.

Guess the absence of a lift could be daunting but all made good by our host.
