Excellent room nice location.
The evening meal was below average and the breakfast was chaotic and not very good.

Rural location and returning to our wedding venue from 17 years ago.
The bedroom decor and surrounding hallways were drab and looked a bit tired.
The ceiling in the bedroom had multiple water marks on it.
The furniture was dated and the room wasn’t cosey or particularly inviting.
The shower wasn’t clean and the water didn’t drain away.
There was a dreadful noise every time someone turned a tap on in another room.

suite was nice, sauna was a great addition. Complimentary Prosecco was a nice touch.
bedroom Suite was very close to function suite and unfortuneatly on my stay there was a function which meant it was very noisy in my room which interfered with my enjoyment of the room and ability to sleep. Really should have been informed of this before my arrival.
Asked if I could book dinner and was told yes, but last orders would be 7:15pm. as they had 2 functions on. Again, not a great customer experience to be unable to order dinner beacuse they were busy.
Snow during the night and the car park and road had no grit layed so was dangerous and i narrowly missed sliding into other cars twice just getting out of the car park.

Spacious Rooms. Great Location. Cleanliness.
Evening Bingo event being held - too.noisy for the outer rooms, had to turn up the TV to drown out the volume. Would have complained if I had the grandchildren in tow.

location and reception staff
The Holly Bush Pub for decent meal and service
very tiered room (number 38)
Bathroom mould , floor tiles loose and coming away, grubby room in general.
bedding not replaced, found out you have to request this which at £270 for two nights is steep.
The breakfast is nothing to shout about very poor given the surroundings.
lack of bar staff , lots of people waiting to be served, had to ask twice for someone to serve.
Restaurant service very poor and received my meal wrong “twice “ second time I said I will eat this as an hour had already passed loosing the will to live at this point.

The Hotel was fine, the food good. Pleasant surroundings
The staff seemed inexperienced and service was a bit hit and miss. The worst thing was in the morning that the pillow case had ridden up the pillow which was yellow with stains galore. Gross, all 4 pillows were the same, should be thrown out. Room recently decorated but paint stains all over the carpet!

Beautiful gardens
Unfortunately 2 weddings booked on both nights I stayed there. Music didn’t end until midnight. Wasn’t too bad just lots of people.

from our room we could sit at the window watching rats . not nice .
the room was lovely except for the clump of hair near the bed. i placed it in the bin and did point it out to reception who were very apologetic which was fine.

Attended for a family wedding, staff were brilliant and the day was perfect for them. The hotel room was lovely.
The buffet breakfast on the day after the wedding was not great.

Lovely grounds, friendly staff, good sized room.
A better breakfast selection would have been nice and it certainly made a difference arriving early before certain items were consumed. Also, how many days old were the rosti?

the property was lovely, communal areas decorated nice and the staff were lovely.
the bedrooms were dated, the bathroom was very dated and not particularly clean, especially in the corners where clumps of dust and hair were found. out of one of the windows you could see the bins below and rats running around.

Real Gem of place in a great location. Only 10-15 mins from Derby City centre.
5.0 / 10.0
Good location, communal areas were up to date and welcoming. Staff friendly.
lack of curtains (just wooden shutters) also letting light in the room from the fire escape safety light, bathroom old, mouldy tiles and sink didn’t look that clean, shower curtain….

The outside looked very appealing and it was set in lovely grounds but unfortunately the inside was dirty and tired.
Dirty bedroom with stained carpet. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Uncomfortable bed. TV volume kept going off. Bathroom was really dusty and dirty with hairs on the floor and in the sink. The inside of the toilet was disgusting, in fact I would have scrubbed everything if I’d have had some cleaning products and a cloth! I’ve actually stayed in better 2 star hotels and whoever gave this a 4 star rating must have been drunk at the time! Also very hostile girl on reception with poor customer service skills. Would not stay here again.
