We had a really good time, nice walks along the canal, and good food at the Boat Inn.

Breakfast very good, the room was well equipt and the location was great, just a short 5 min walk into Cromford.

The bar and restaurant was a little sterile and lacked character.

Everything was amazing except the very thin ceiling through which we could every footstep from upstairs

Enjoyed the stay, except breakfast.

Beautiful grounds, the lounge area was very nice. The location was nice and peaceful and close to Matlock. The room was fine with a good bathroom.

Unfortunately, breakfast wasn't good. Very slow service, cold coffee, forgot toast, didn't enjoy the bacon or sausage. Nobody seemed to keep an when the juice and milk jars were empty at the buffet. More staff or more staff training would make the experience better. Bar service slow with staff having to multi task.

All style no substance

Danni the girl who had to deal with all the complaints and there were lots from multiple guests.

The hotel is about style with no substance. Checked in after spending all day outside in minus 8. Told there was no space for me to have food in the restaurant. No Room service available, having asked for it. Taken to my room which was outside over the courtyard got to the room, the outside door opened straight into the room. Radiators not on, in freezing conditions. Taken back to the reception given another room in the main hotel which was directly over the bar/restaurant area which was now full with people not staying at the hotel. Very noisy. Had to walk to the local fish and chip shop to get food. Lots of residents having pizzas delivered. It was a shambles. Breakfast in the morning was luke warm. Was supposed to be staying for two nights left in the morning and found somewhere else. Only plus side was Danni the staff member who was getting lots of complaints and dealt with them as best she could. No management on site.

Great service, great food, highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic service all round. Lovely location. A warm welcome straight away. Staff in the restaurant attentive but not overbearing. Food excellent throughout. Well stocked bar. Suite was spacious, comfortable and the roll top bath was the cherry on the cake!

One group arrived back late and interrupted sleep but not the fault of the hotel. Pillows could do with an upgrade.

No noise separation in rooms ,

Breakfast service staff were good . Some of the finishes , sanitary fittings and floorboards were high quality

Whilst removing finishes back to the nice floorboards it seems no consideration was given to acoustic separation . We were above the bar Anas until the bar closed it’s like the drinkers wee in our room ! The plumbing creaked and knocked also all night . And noise transference is not designed for it seems no noise separation measures have been considered

Exceptional

The location is delightful, the gardens are beautifully landscaped, the building is restored to an exceptionally high standard, the rooms are very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Everything is to the highest standard, and no expense had been spared here. Thoroughly recommend! The staff are helpful and friendly, and knowledgeable about local history and the building itself.

Very relaxing stay.

Location was walking distance from Matlock Bath (20 mins) and Matlock(30 mins). Room was very clean and comfortable, staff very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful location and hotel grounds are very pretty. Quiet location.

Just a suggestion a nice table or similar in the bathroom to put your wash bag on !

Oakhill is an attractive Country House hotel set in lovely grounds not far from Matlock We had a warm welcome and were taken to our room, a nice touch. Breakfast next morning was first class, in a very nice dining room.

Our room was clean and tidy but we would have liked a bit more space.The view outside was affected by some building work that was being carried out, though we did not hear any noise from this.

Rey enjoyable but some room for improvement.

Breakfast good but not brilliant. Food quality fine but slow service. Loved the decor and gardens.

Had to ask for some standard items (condiments, butter, etc.) which should have been provided automatically. Staff very friendly so maybe just a training issue.

I wish we stayed longer, but we were just passing through.

Food was amazing, The gardens were incredible, Loved the style of the entire place.

Not that it matters but the key ring number was to big to fit the key in the door and turn it.

Once fully renovated will be a lovely place to stay. Breakfast was good.

Room was nicely renovated and claw bath in bathroom .

I could hear the TV quite loudly in the room next door. Fortunately they turned it off around 9.30pm.

The Hotel was great,we were upgraded when we got there, everything was top notch, the staff were very helpful.

We had breakfast there which was very good we didn't have an evening meal because we were meeting up with family. The restaurant looked busy.

A great find!

The breakfast was excellent. Great choice and beautifully cooked.

The room was a little small but that was not really a problem. We will definitely stay here again.
