Nice clean convenient place, great staff, room for improvement re breakfast and noise levels

Location was good, easy access, plenty of parking. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Large dining room, and small adjacent bar. Good option was to order take away meals. The on-site restaurant was closed, but that turned out to be a bonus. Cocktails were great. Lifts were very handy.

Next time I would request a room on the opposite side away from the main road as there was road nice from 4am. Cooked breakfast and cereal was available, but I was very disappointed with the quality of food, and not hot enough. Cereal muesli was poor, no fried eggs (scrambled egg was dry). Real fruit juice would be a big improvement on the weak flavoured drinks currently being served. Toast and preserves saved the day! The heat/aircon unit in the room was a pain, as it could not be turned off completely, the unit kept turning itself back on again (blowing air and making a din) a few second after TURN OFF was selected. The piped music was not great/

Repeat guests, always use HI Express for stop-overs.

Staff, location close to M5, breakfast (especially thoughtful GF options), breakfast staff especially helpful and welcoming.

Rooms are getting a bit dated now, but always clean.

Great comfortable hotel with excellent staff

We've stayed here quite a few times, and have always been comfortable, but it's the service that brings us back mostly, especially the ladies that look after breakfast, they are very accommodating and friendly.

This stay wasn't quite as good as previous stays because some numpty had reprogrammed the TV to a different language and also set an alarm that blasted the TV out at midnight. We were well into our sleep as we had a long drive the next day, and were not happy with the interruption! Although this was not the hotel's fault they were very accommodating and understanding. Doesn't affect our decision to stay again but did affect our nights sleep.

Home from home

In particular the staff are exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Cleanliness is tip top. Always someone cleaning in the shared areas. Breakfast is great..always topped up rapidly.

Sometimes use of air con makes the lounge a bit too cold. Adjusted when asked though.

Very disappointing

We have stayed there many times, convenient location and everything a Holiday Inn Express has to offer.

The bathroom fan did not turn off all night which kept my wife awake all night . We removed the card to cut off the room electrics which didn’t stop the fan and of course prevented the heating from warming the room . I shivered all night and my wife had no sleep - it wouldn’t have been as bad if when we told reception , in my opinion , they were not interested. Very poor experience

The staff were excellent. Very professional. Very approachable. Their attitude was first class. Breakfast was good.Substantial.

New Towels felt damp in mornings. Lighting was poor. More ceiling lights. Apart from that nothing.

Everything, from start to finish was excellent

My evening meal of fish and chips could have been better, the batter was very greasy and soggy and the fish tasted very stale and under cooked. The chips though were excellent.

chaos breakfast time. took awhile to get a table for us and children, then had to clean away plates etc myself. definitely needs more staff on clearing away and cleaning tables. went out for dinner nearby as even if menu been ok dining area very cold as air con on which was not necessary at that time of day
