It location and the great staff

There was only one towel provided. We didn't ask for it to be rectified as we were running short on time so just used the small cafe one

We did not sleep. The air conditioning in our room 203 was not working. The room was too hot. We were up all night. The next day this mad is ill. Reported this to reception, told us a manager would be contacting us. Still nothing

Came with my daughter to a University Open Day. It was just what we needed. A calm and friendly welcome on arrival (after a slightly fraught journey). It's an amazing building with a fascinating visual illusion created by the large mirror on the stairs which kept looking - not like a mirror but like a a hole cut in the wall opening onto another staircase. Our room was spacious and comfortable, perfectly clean, with everything we wanted. A nice chat with three staff as we headed off in the morning - it was interesting to hear a bit about the history of the building and what ABode are doing across the country.

Good location, lovely room
Would be good to have dinner facilities

We are frequent stayers as we like the hotel but on this stay the bed in 308 needs looking at . It has very loose fittings which meant I had to wedge it against the wall otherwise it wobbled and squeaked with every little movement .
Not easy to hang towels to dry

Great location.
Room was small and grubby, and was situated right next a plant room which meant there was a loud hum the whole time.

Great architecture, well appointed, very central
Aircon didn’t work in the room so can imagine in the summer it’s too hot

the original features were beautiful. Massive, comfortable bed and it was exceptionally clean.
the breakfast was dreadful. We did get a refund for this.

The service is second to none, the decor and cleanliness of the room is good. The location is super close to the train station and easy access to the whole of the city centre.
My room faced onto the road (room 104) and it was noisy with road traffic, I mentioned in when I checked in and the receptionist said if it caused a problem to come back down, I had a very unsettled night but did now want to move when I returned to the hotel at 11.30pm.

Room was spacious, lovely conservation features.
Breakfast was a bit rushed as we had an appointment, and I think there were staffing issues. But staff did their best and were helpful and friendly.
Room was a little cold, but we are used to warmer climes.
3.0
room was spacious and clean
restaurant / bar was dirty. at breakfast there was sick from night before on furniture and floor.
ladies toilets in bar dirty and no toilet paper- clearly no maintenance.

Great location, fantastic staff on reception. Never got the fellas name who worked on Sat 19th but a credit.
Minor and I mean minor. Remote control needs updating as buttons wearing down.
Was told bar open until midnight. Ordered 1 drink and barman told us it was our last. 2245hrs

the history of the building was kept which makes it a great place to stay and feel like you stepped into the history of Manchester.
The staff was superb, friendly and helpful as we forgot a charger they gave us one so we can charge our phones during our stay. Also great chat with one of the staff explaining a little about the history of the building and the city. As well as giving us some pointers which turned out to be spot on!
a downside was that we couldn’t open a window, however the airco made up for some cold air. Would have preferred fresh air though

Lovely hotel in a good place for lots of things to do and see. The staff were lovely and it was very comfortable and relaxing.
The room was slightly disappointing compared to what we have paid for in other hotels, although it was lovely with lots of details of the period building. The lighting for my wife to get ready needed to be better. Just the little things could be better.

Leaving
The double rooms are advertised with a bath. I need a bath in my room but they had no bath. They rarely had a ramp on the entrance steps for pram or wheelchair access. The rooms had no fridge. When I told staff about my issues about a bath & property access they were less than helpful.
I requested a cot my the room for my autistic toddler and they did not provide one! They put an extra camp bed in the room. My toddler can’t sleep in a camp bed!
This a not a 4 star hotel, does not cater very well for children or people with disabilities and definitely is not worth its price point.

The hotel is beautifully preserved. It is well designed. Have the prettiest staircase I have ever seen. The location is perfect and the team is super nice
Uncomfortable bed (despite it's huge size), can't open windows

Location was great, breakfast was ok
The room was uncomfortably hot. Had to switch off all the radiators and use the aircon which we had difficulty getting to stay switched on.
