Really comfortable stay

Two flights of stairs up to the room not an issue for me but for my mum.

Would recommend the Herriot Hotel to anyone going to Skipton, lovely hotel and staff.

Staff were wonderful. Room was very warm and despite a small heater we had to turn the heat down quite a lot even though weather outside was bitterly cold. So was very toasty in there. Plenty of tea etc available. Breakfast first day was lovely. Eggs especially. Comfy bed.

The shower in the wet room was hard to navigate for my friend and there was reference to a 'red' knob which we couldn't locate. The wet room remained wet throughout the day and even night due to one shower. The plus jammed in the basin twice and on second occasion we needed help from staff to remove it. Needs some attention.

Great car park in a good location. Breakfast was ok

Room could of been a bit warmer on arrival. Don’t like how the toilet if fixed on the wall!!

Disappointing

Breakfast on the last day was nice but the 2 morning before went great

The hotel is very tired and needs lots of work doing to it . Light fittings hanging down , draws hanging off . TV not working properly and town rail needed fixing

Had a wonderful stay at Herriots, with a sweet room overlooking the canal and narrowboats…just across the street from the train station. The room was clean, the staff was kind, and the included breakfast excellent. Thank you, Herriots!

Generally we had a good stay

It’s location was good lovely canal at the back of the hotel , and also close to skiptons shops and restaurants

Brilliant hotel, staff and accommodation we will be returning and a couple of months time.

Breakfast was amazing such choice and quality food and service, all cooked fresh, fantastic. We had a room facing the canal which was lovely. The room was quite warm but opening the terrace doors and using the fan provided made for a comfortable nights sleep. The hotel is opposite the railway station so a trip into Leeds only 40 minutes, fantastic.

I know it said on the information that if there is a function it could be noisy , we weren't prepared for the level of noise but it finished at 12pm so no problem . Still had a good nights sleep. Just be aware of this if staying in the stable block rooms.

strange but ok, we felt there was no interaction with the management.

fair evening meal. could have been warmer. but very tasty. good. breakfast. set up a bit confoluted.

the bedroomroom a bit on the small side for 2 people. bathroom definately to small and cramped. bed comfortable but mattress to soft for us. check out system strange, no option charge things to room. All purchases need to be paid as received.

Perfect for a night stay over.

Friendly helpful staff, food excellent and location perfect opposite the train station and central to the town. Room was excellent stayed in the house next to the hotel.

Great spot, however, when staying in heriots house, no info on spa tub, towels etc

The room needs to add laundry bags, sanitary bags, shower caps and bottled water

Really welcoming friendly staff Restaurant serving lovely food Free car parking and location very close to a bus stop and train station

2 spiders in bedroom and a silverfish in the bathroom The cups provided with tea and coffee facilities were too heavy and awkward. Need to have mugs instead

A great hotel in a prefect position, friendly staff, what more could we ask for.

The position of the hotel was great, just a short walk into the centre. Our room was immaculate, we were told it had just been refurbished in January. We did not eat dinner in the hotel but the restaurant area was lovely, we did have our breakfast the following morning. There was a good choice of cereal, yogurts and fruit. A varied choice of a cooked breakfast, plenty of different breads and preservatives. A good sized car park which was one of the main reasons we choose this hotel.

Superb

Friendly staff, nice clean rooms as was the whole hotel. Good bar with real ale, reasonably priced drinks.

Service in the restaurant was a bit slow 3/4 hour from ordering to getting our meal, I thought they had gone to Grimsby to get my haddock.
