The location is decent and relatively close to the city center, but there’s a steep slope nearby, so traveling without taking a taxi can be quite exhausting.
There's a lot.
The reception staff was highly unprofessional. I had booked four rooms, with one of them under a separate reservation. I called to cancel this additional room. During the first call, the manager informed me that they needed to process the cancellation and asked me to wait for a follow-up.
Nobody called me back. I called again the second day and during the second call, a male staff member assured me that the cancellation had been successful. When I arrived at the hotel and reconfirmed (providing the booking number), I was again told that only three rooms were valid. The male receptionist tried to lecture me, even claiming that another clearly valid reservation I hadn’t canceled was invalid. When I politely pointed out his mistake, he did not apologize but instead smirked coldly. Due to his overconfidence in stating that only three rooms were valid, I proceeded to check in for three rooms. However, the refund for the canceled room was never issued.
When I contacted Booking.com, I was informed that no cancellation had ever been made.
Moreover, the hotel did not provide me with the fourth room, and their attitude during the communication was extremely poor. Later, the hotel admitted that their staff had made an error and promised to issue a refund. However, they threatened to withhold the refund unless I deleted my negative review. Under pressure, I temporarily removed the review.
Additionally, the hotel had a strong unpleasant odor, and the cleanliness was severely lacking. Upon entering the room, I even found a large bee inside. I strongly do not recommend staying at this hotel.

Accommodation so nice. Very clean. Compact modern room, extremely comfortable bed and modern sink/taps in corner of the room. Fabulous shower & toilet always available along the corridor, close to room so didn’t find this an issue at all. Suited perfectly without spending a fortune. Very convenient for a few nights. Easy walk down to the wharf, only 10 mins max.
Liked the guest lounge available at all times. It is a perfect place to make a cuppa, breakfast, quick snack, sit inside or out. Very clean space. Large Fridge space available to share with other guests.. Would definitely stay here again.

We had an upgraded room with our own bathroom. Place was under renovation, a bit worried when we first arrived, but everything worked out perfectly.
Very nice restaurant at the accommodation across the road - 2 minutes walk.
Website could have warned us about the renovations taking place. I would still have booked but nice to know & not arrive to a building site. All worked out well, very clean & friendly operator. Thank you.

房间舒适干净,客厅睡房分区,厨房设施锅碗瓢盆齐全,做了早餐晚餐都方便。离蒂卡波湖,镇中心和好牧羊人步行距离都在10分钟左右,位置极好。

Location was good. Walking distance to shops and cafes.
Our room had a terrible damp mouldy odour that lingered all 3 days of our stay..As soon as you walked into the room the smell was obvious and unpleasant. They did try to air the room out but being winter you couldn't leave the windows open all night. Positives, the bathroom was modern and clean and proximity to town, just shame about the mouldy unpleasant smell.

Nice to have a sink in the room! Very good location, central in town, walking distance to many facilities. Very helpful staff who answered my queries. The warm water came out relatively fast from the tap. There's a guest lounge for use as well but didn't have time to use it.
Hate that the room is not soundproof, could hear noises from outside of the room rather clearly which I didn't appreciate. There's a quiet hours time from 10pm to 8am if I remember rightly. It was quiet during the quiet hours but I would not appreciate hearing rowdy conversations from the hallway. Thankfully I was there only for a night and didn't have time to sleep on the bed.

Great common lounge area with deck/patio out front with a view of the water and the mountains - great place to watch sunset and have dinner. The lounge has a microwave, a toaster oven, a few mini fridges. The room had a little balcony and a comfortable bed. WiFi was good. Coffee and tea and a kettle is provided.
The shower wasn’t very strong and it was hard to get the water to be hot (you had to turn all the way to the left but then it would be too hot but anything else would be cold). Limited parking so we had to park on the lawn which was ok. Not the most central location but walkable to the main Queenstown downtown.

Melbourne Lodge is very close to all the action in Queenstown, but is in a very quiet part of town so you'll get a nice peaceful sleep! There is a nice communal kitchen and lounge so if you're travelling alone it would be a great chance to meet your fellow travelers. We also had a nice little gift of cookies in our room which was a very nice surprise!
Rooms are a bit dated and just be warned that there is a big steep hill to climb to get to the hotel if you're travelling with heavy bags. The room was nice enough but we found it to be waaaay overpriced. We did stay over Christmas, so that could have been why, but my friends from NZ were shocked when I said we paid over $700 for two nights.

Super friendly staff and excellent facilities. Quite clean and room made up very well.
A little bit pricey and balcony garden needs a bit of work.

Even tho they were very busy as it was over 2022 NYE
Only improvement I would suggest was the show I used could of have better water pressure and was hotter.

Walking distance to town. Great communal lounge with toaster etc
On check in the very busy Receptionist took the time to show me 3 rooms to chose from for my stay. Excellent service.
Insufficient detail to cleanliness i.e. dusting around windows, tops of cabinets
