I had the best night sleep, the bed was so comfortable.
We would have preferred breakfast to be served earlier as 9.45 we feel is a little late.
4.3
Lovely staff lovely setting very professional
Would have liked later breakfast and check out

Quiet surroundings, good food, very pleasant and helpful staff
The wi-fi signal was very haphazard and weak. I kept on being kicked out and download was very slow.

- The location.
- Very spacious, comforting and luxurious rooms.
- Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Value for money.
- Breakfast and Evening meal was delicious.
- Calming and you feel like you can unwind and hear the sound of nature.
- No evening meals on Tuesdays (especially travelling and working hard all day,and find that the restaurant is closed)
- Expensive evening meal (didnt know the prices at the time before I booked online) and not suitable for people on a tight budget etc...unless it's for a especially occasions.
- Full English breakfast could have a little more on the plate.

The breakfast was good
Just little issues
Bedside table top was not entirely clean. Have used bathing product on bath.

The room was beautifully decorated and very warm and cosy. The staff were all very helpful, we arrived a little bit before check in as we were heading to a wedding and they accommodated for us, they also helped find us a taxi. Breakfast was also very nice.
Location was great for us as we were going to a wedding just down the road, however the local taxis are expensive, it was £20 for a journey less than 5 minutes.

amazing staff food and location
breakfast starting at 8 rather than 7 am

Historic building that’s been cared for
Staff were kind and attentive, and tried to help out
Good breakfast with GF/vegan options
Room was a downgrade from what we had booked. And it was not a small, but a significant downgrade - less than half the size. We were told this was because they couldn’t accommodate kids in the booked room type (must be our mistake but remembered reserving with kids, not sure if it was a glitch with booking.com).
The staff were helpful in setting us up with a small kids bed (but didn’t tell us this would cost £35/night extra at the time - most places charge less but that’s okay). The restaurant wasn’t serving lunch or dinner either, which wasn’t great as we had to drive 40mins to find food in the night.
The downgrade from deluxe room into a Luxury room (odd naming choice btw) meant we had no bathtub for the kids and a small dark room with old (and not the stylish kind) furniture to contend with. Our kid sleeps better once she has had a bath, and after the long drive it’s what would have helped everyone have a good night.
This wasn’t the start to the long weekend we had wanted, and so we asked the hotel staff if we can just cancel and move out given the hotel policy (as we were told a couple of times that made us feel unwelcome) seemed like they didn’t allow kids under 8 anyway.
The hotel staff told us if booking.com were okay with cancelling, they could do so. And then we went on an hour long discussion with both sides saying that the other side isn’t accepting, it was all surprisingly inefficient. It finally came down to the hotel receiving an email request from booking.com to cancel, that they didn’t accept.
If I were the hotel management, I would have just let the guests cancel as (1) the original room wasn’t available for kids, (2) hotel policy didn’t allow kids under 8, and (3) the downgraded room wasn’t inline with customer expectations. Instead we were forced to stay in a room we clearly weren’t happy with and against hotel policy.

great location, comfortable and large bedroom with sitting area and mock gas fired log burner that made for a very cosy feel. very large bathroom with big walk in overhead shower, not a power shower but lots of hot water.
nothing to dislike about the property

Fantastic rooms!

A lovely place, tucked away in a quiet village (could be a bit hard to find - make sure your sat nav is working!). I found it via the Michelin Guide - an excellent recommendation. We were having a family catch-up and were given 2 rooms in a little block in the courtyard. This was ideal for us as it had a small communal lounge area where we could chat and drink tea. Staff were all excellent, friendly and very welcoming - they coped with our requests (iron, spare toothpaste, coffee etc) without blinking an eye. Rooms were very comfortable (if a little warm) with very good bathrooms - good shower which is always a must! Water, tea and coffee in room. We had the 7-course tasting menu for dinner which was excellent - with a lot of very local ingredients and plenty of imaginative twists. Service was just right. Breakfast was also good - again with emphasis on local ingredients and all to order (no buffet which is nice).
Make sure you turn the radiator down if you like to sleep in a cooler environment.

Breakfast and food in general was top notch. We had dinner in the hotel on our first evening and it was a lovely experience. Staff are really attentive
The only minor fault I can think of was we were in room 10 and it was pretty dark, so my make up was a bit tragic all holiday! Hardly cause to complain though.
4.3
The Old manor house was lovely
The property was fragmented. Felt it was not explained suitably in marketing lit.
4.3
Staff pleasant and attentive. Meals very good.
As we are both in our eighties but very active the room (3) we were in was fine but I think it would be of concern had we been less fit, ie uneven floors and steps.
4.3
Absolutely stunning building with exceptional staff and outstanding food - thanks again for our lovely stay.
