Breakfast was great but quite pricey
Nothing at all

Lovely old stone building with plenty of character, and 2 open fires roaring away in the bar area made it a lovely place to relax into after a day out. Dinner was very good, breakfast was superb, and the service from everyone we encountered was friendly and efficient. Rooms were spacious, beds very comfy and a nice powerful shower.
It was 15 mins by bus from the village (every ~20 mins from what I can see) into Oxford centre so an easy hop in for a day out (but the traffic towards evening made it a slow trip back).
Overall given the standard of everything this was exceptional value, and would definitely come back,

No lighting outside after the pub closed so when we checked out the next morning very early it was in complete darkness and very dangerous walking down stairs from the room.

Loved EVERYTHING about my stay, and only wish it had been longer! The staff were amazing; the room fabulous, and I really appreciated the bath after a long day of driving! It seriously is worth staying there - great value for such a gem of a hotel. Couldn't have asked for more
Plus a great dinner downstairs after having taken the manager's advice for lunch - a very pleasant 10-15 minute drive to a fab pub on the river. So not only was lunch amazing as was the location of the pub, but dinner was fabulous.
I LOVED my stay!!
Nothing - it was all wonderful from the moment I arrived

Everything. The quintessential English pub in a quiet area of the Cotswolds. Team were fantastic and the room directly above the pub was very lovely. lots of space amazing bathroom and comfy bed. No noise heard at all from below. Food in the pub was great both breakfast and dinner service. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Room was spotless, restaurant food was excellent and staff made you feel very welcome.
Where the pub is situated enabled us to use the local bus services to get to our destination.
We liked everything and had a very enjoyable stay.

Visited the Bear for a birthday celebration, staying overnight for a Sunday evening.
Nice and friendly staff, restaurant/dining area lacked a bit of atmosphere at dinner. Impressed that Bear, quickly resolved an problem with our meal order, by giving us a bottle of wine. We didn't ask, it was just offered - and gratefully received.
Breakfast was OK, but surprised that there was no offer of breakfast cereal or fruit. Basically a cooked breakfast (Eggs Benedict, Full English, Scrambled Eggs etc.) or nothing else.
There is some confusion about what time the Bear stop serving food on a Sunday. Emails state 17:45, Opentable say 20:00; staff on the phone say 17:45. In reality it's 20:00, but getting to the truth - is more difficult than it should be

Room was lovely as was the pub.
Food, very poor. First meal, fish & chips came with hard, cold, shrivelled peas! Second meal, curry, came with no sauce! Had to actually ask for some curry sauce, on our curry! Did not eat in house after that. The menu was very limited & quite boring. Thought our booking came with breakfast, but it did not, for the huge price, it should have.....very upset with that, spoilt our, otherwise nice trip.

The facilities and food were excellent, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and all the staff we interacted with were polite, professional, and friendly.
The stay was too short.

Lovely breakfast, room sizes and cosiness. Everything well preserved for such an old inn.
All the personnel really professional and warm. Beef Wellington divine.

Ye old and quaint
For a Wednesday night at 7pm, the three main meat options were off the menu. The establishment advised there were not busy yet did not have much food in supply.
Fish from the fish and chips was undercooked and the field mushroom starter for the size was not worth the money.
TV didn't work in one of the rooms either.

nothing not to like.

Beautiful building and space within. A warm, cosy inviting place on a cold winter's day.
The sofa bed was uncomfortable in the family room. . Meals are very over-priced.

This is excellent accommodation. A very clean, modern and spacious room.
The restaurant is fantastic, great food and wine available following a day of sightseeing in the nearby beautiful countryside and idyllic villages.

The room was lovely. Bright, clean with a super bathroom (we requested a bath) and coffee and tea making facilities. Our dinner was excellent (vegetarian) - tasty and beautifully presented as was the breakfast. The menu was interesting and had a good choice for all tastes.
Nothing! The service was excellent. The staff helpful and welcoming. And although attached to a pub, the accommodation was quiet and very comfortable.
