The peoples are awesome and very friendly.
Nothing everything was great

Location at Manly is perfect. Just minutes to the famous Manly beach. Price is the cheapest in metro Sydney. You can't find anywhere cheaper than this motel. Of course you pay what you get. It's a single bed in a dorm where you access via a key card. People from any countries including work holiday visa and some locals. You do have to look after your own belongings as there's no where to save the valuables as it's a big dorm.
If you share the room with other people unknown to each other, then you would expect noise issue.

Great location and friendly staff (particularly Lulu!)
The property houses mostly people that live there for their regional work. They were not very welcoming, unfriendly and intimidating when using communal spaces esp the kitchen.
Despite signs saying no noise after 10pm, they were playing LOUD music until ~3/4am and one time it went on through the night and stopped around 8:30am so had very little sleep.
The bathroom smells very bad and only one shower was working. Our double room was fine, if not a bit dated. For the amount they charge, this place could definitely do with some renovation!
Would be good to know before that it is mostly residents rather than fellow travellers staying there as may have booked somewhere more suitable/friendly.

Everybody was friendly, nice location. Free ear plugs were helpful. Great value for money.
Very noisy if you are near the common area, and very loud on weekends, as late as 4am. No hot water in the shower when I used it.

Location and close to our funtion
Felt a bit old and run down but was cheap compared to other accommodation available

The woman in the reception is very nice and kind and the localisation in Manly is next to the beach. 😊
The bedroom are not very clean... If you don't speak Spanish, you can't feel comfortable here. People live there, do not respect the place nor the people who clean, shout, sing at all hours of the day, and make you understand that you should not be there.

The vibe of this hostel makes it great. I’ve been to brand new hostels that had little to no atmosphere.
I’ve stayed here multiple times now, alone, with family and with friends. Always left wishing I’d booked an extra few days.
Rooms are hot in summer, but with a fan that was soon rectified.

the property is dirty, very smelly, sticky and no air-condition, dark place not bright
dirty and smelly place, poor services, the receptionist has a poor communication ability, feeling like a insecure place for accommodation

The location is just perfect. It’s on walking distance to the ferries and next to the beach. Shelly beach is 20 mins away. I also liked the Spit to Manly walk!
The common room upstairs is quite social. It’s a easy way to meet new people there :)
There was a cat. I know they told me before check-in but I thought the common room upstairs would also be the spot for the cat. I was wrong. I stayed in room 0003 and this room is also the room of the cat. I don’t mind cats but she kept jumping in my bed (even when I moved to the top bed) and sometimes she got the weird cat-zoomies in the middle of the night and that scared the sh*t out of me. Also my stuff was covered in cat hairs. Not very pleasant. Maybe move the cat to the common room so everyone can enjoy her and she wouldn’t be sleeping in other peoples beds :)
The bathrooms were filthy too and they often had a weird smell around. Also a LOT of cockroaches.
Be careful when you have a room facing the little square in front of the hostel. Some funny people threw in food (sandwiches, fries) inside our room and when I woke up my stuff + backpack was COVERED in food. Do not put your bags in front of the window :,)
Also breakfast ain’t breakfast when you’re eating ‘late’. Everything will be eaten by the time you arrive and it’s just toast or cereal. Just get your own stuff from the supermarket next door haha

Maybe the location is the only advantage
Probably the most disgusting hostel I've ever been to. The bathroom, showers, and rooms look like they were taken from a prison scene in a movie

You get what you pay for. Staff were friendly. Price was good for location and busy time in Sydney
tv did not work, courtyard view was a wall with bike storage. Shared showers and toilets did not look clean.
For example, there was clothing left in corner that had not been removed by cleaning staff over 3 days

free breakfast, nice staff and a hostel cat!
Dirty and messy in general but acceptable if you’re okey with that. The showers and toilets smelly and not very pleasant. Had an ok stay from the circumstances and could book it again if I wouldn’t find anything better. In my 8 dorm room I think it was 6 people who stayed that permanently so if you wanna make friends it’s not a very social hostel. But nice people.

The location.
The bathrooms and the kitchen are dirty all the time. The rooms don’t have enough ventilation. There’s no WIFI. When something breaks they take ages to fix it or don’t do it at all. The reception staff is completely useless.

Lift was down making it hard for my mum. We requested 2 single beds but only got one double bed.

Location was great. Close to beach. The little coffee shop was an added bonus
Cat living inside. I have no objection to animals but the smell of dirty kitty litter at times was overwhelming. The place could do with an overhaul as everything looks a bit run down. This would benefit the place given its great location and ambience. Having a private room with our own bathroom certainly made it, not sure about sharing communal bathrooms.

Staff were excellent, very accommodating with bag storage, flexible check in/out with great communication. Great location, could see Manly beach from my balcony. Lots of things within very easy walking distance.
Nothing.

the location was great and the staff were friendly and helpful!
could do with a fresh coat of paint everywhere. It’s a nice place with a lot of charm but could just do with a spruce up! 😊

A few minute walk from Manly beach, bus stops, ferry wharf, Coles, Weekend Markets etc. The common area is nice with a small balcony from where you can see the sunrise over the beach. They let me borrow their snorkel kit on one sunny day.
Many guests don't clean up after they finish, which would otherwise keep the place a lot cleaner.
Shaky Wifi.
Rooms are messy.
No charging points for each bed.
Elevator was not working.

The bed was good, excellently clean. Breakfast was ok. Staff were very accommodating. Location is excellent. Shower was pipping hot with a strong flow..
My room was below the table tennis table on the floor above, it was a little noisy, but they supplied ear plugs.

Staff were so friendly helping me and my brother sort out our NSW stay voucher. They even have free breakfast and free snorkeling gear to rent. And to top it off the hostel has a stunning rooftop apart from being right in the hub of Manly!! What more can you ask for?
Pillow height could be a bit higher or maybe it was just time to change to a new one as the stuffing simply didn’t provide any support at all.
