I like the way Jaco took care of us throughout our stay there and the environment is great and beautiful
The fact that there is no wifi at the rooms

The peace and beautiful scenery
The security at the gate showed a bit of racism when he attended to the white guy behind us before us. That was unacceptable!

This is an amazing place ....loved it to bits . Three days being near to nature. Friendly staff who loves their jobs and it can be seen with all the smiles and laughter. Will recommend to everyone.
Nothing not to like

Everything! The food, the environment, the remoteness, the lack of mobile signal and televisions in the bedrooms. I loved the Boma, even though I would still have my dinner inside when it is winter. The walks, basically Everything!
Nothing really! And not sure why the bar is red below! There's absolutely nothing to criticise

The reserve is fascinating and the terrain really interesting, the hotel is well situated and also interesting with great facilities.
Limited wi-fi and cell coverage was irritating. Wi-fi in the rooms should be available...

Even the long dirt road added to the experience.

The most amazing location, the most beautiful quiet surrounding amongst incredible wildlife & scenery. words can’t describe the beauty of this place. The staff are some of the sweetest & friendliest I’ve met, the surroundings are jaw-dropping. Just remarkable.

The cave units built to blend into the rocky backdrop is amazing. The bed was comfortable. Loved that there was an airconditioner in the unit. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and well presented. There is WiFi available at the restaurant area which you need since there is no cellphone reception. The boma area is where you want to have your dinner, it’s absolutely gorgeous with the bonfire, eating under the stars. On a clear night stargazing is also a must. The property offers various paid for activities which is worth a try. The pool looks very inviting on a hot day.
On booking.com they don’t seem to mention the 36km gravel road to get there. There is also no reception on the road so you will struggle to find help if you have a problem. However the road was in a fair condition when we went. The WiFi seems to be limited to a certain usage amount, which for the price you pay to be at the property sends the wrong message.

Everything about it. It was beautiful, peaceful, a great family location for children and adults. The spa was lovely and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended and a place I would visit again.

outstanding hotel, location and staff! utmost attention to detail and always with a smile. when you know that there’s a long gravel road leading to the hotel (and that takes more time) it does even increase excitement of what is waiting at its end :)
one night was too short :)

Staff is really friendly; nice hiking route ; good dinner and wines
Way overpriced. We payed nearly 5000 Rand - and therefore got a small room (not a real cave as one could assume from the photos) with a bit dirty bathroom; after it rained in the night, there was water dropping thought the roof (unfortunately directly onto our luggage). It took us really long to arrive there (as there is a at least ~1 hour drive without a proper road). We learned that most guest come there for driving their 4 x 4 cars. For us, this was not the nature experience we were looking for.

The most amazing place we’ve stayed for the beautiful location and quirky accommodation. The staff were all brilliant, food and wine lovely.
I was very glad to have air con in the room - just advice for people staying there to cover up the light on the unit as it’s very bright in the night. Easy to deal with

Breakfast and location was excellent and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The salon staff were wonderful, the bar was good (shut a bit early though) and the range of drinks and food was definitely sufficient. But the location is what makes it - simply stunning environment, I've taken more pictures of rocks than I thought was possible. Its is a wonderful place and I would recommend it to anyone. Food was good, wine list was good. The walks were excellent (we did the 4k and 7k) both of which were fantastic. All very, very enjoyable indeed.
If you hadn't asked what I didn't like, I wouldn't have mentioned it, but the pool was broken - I know these things happen but I wish they didn't happen to us! the outdoor dining experience was a great environment but a bit chaotic (again these things happen) and we didn't miss our stargazing despite everything running very late! The staff really excelled at maintaining cheerfulness and helpfulness, which meant these things really did not matter. For a South African venue, it is relatively expensive to stay, but the bar prices are good and additional items on the menu were not expensive, such as the wine. We really had no complaints, this is a fantastic place, and I cannot praise the staff enough for their friendliness.

Location is fabulous - and the uniqueness of the cave suites makes it a special place

Location is very different. Beautiful rock formations. Caves were small but cosy.
The pool is very small and the 2nd larger pool is not near the lodge.. its about 2.5 km away at the chalets. The facilities are very basic. the weather was awful when we were there.. rain and very cold and unfortunately there is little to nothing to do. So bring a boardgame just in case...Having to order your diner upon arrival at check in at 14h is also not ideal.
