Location was brilliant for the concert in the evening. Breakfast - unfortunately no table setting was made for us but we got a table. The service was ok but the waiting staff failed to take order properly.
Couldn’t get on the Wi-Fi! Left didn’t show it was coming.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend, our stay was more than comfortable and relaxing, staff were friendly and ensured that we could make the most of the short getaway. The tea was complimentary and touches like that were pleasant.

It was absolutely brilliant! Super location, fab staff, hasn’t booked a sea view room but was given one anyway and having the spa to ourselves was so worth the extra cost!

Staff very helpfull, reception and waiter . Parking a bonus and the free upgrade to a sea facing room was fabulous , all of these things will mean I will be looking at this hotel for my next visit .
Hotel is tired but it’s location and age adds in certain ways to its ambiance .

Amazing Spa and treatments. (Book in advance.)
Delightful staff nothing too much. Breakfast served at table.
A bit dated in a quaint sort of way.

it was clean and friendly. There was Window open in another room which was annoying all night. With it being a very windy night.

Customer service is outstanding. The hotel is on the sea front, which is perfect for an evening walk after dinner. The four course evening meal was very good, followed by coffee and mints in the lounge. I was surprised to find entertainment on a Tuesday evening, which was a pianist playing a range of popular music. As I was staying over for work, it was lovely to be able to relax in the bar. On work trips, I usually stay in my room but on this occasion, I felt comfortable to explore the hotel, which has several areas to sit.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. There were things I could have improved, if I had known more about the hotel.
I stayed in a room with a side view, which was good, until I realised I could have paid a little extra for a sea view. The cooked breakfast was sufficient and good quality but not as large as I have received in other hotels. However, I could have chosen a range of other brrakfast options, in addition to the cooked breakfast, if I had asked for them. Unlike other hotels the hotel has table service, so I could have asked the waiter for more items for breakfast.
I wished I had checked in earlier, to have the afternoon tea and cake, which is included in the full board price.

Good room, facilities, upgrade to half board was wfm. Central location.
Limited parking, though public carparks nearby. Windows had a constant issue with sea gulls!

It would have ben better if there was a clear understanding of the dining price for residents.

Internet connection failed for the whole of Saturday. I work on line. I lost money because I was unable to operate as I had expected to. For a hotel your size this is not acceptable.
The floorboards around my room were shot. No other word for it. The door springs need replacing in most rooms. Doors were slamming terribly. I felt like I was trying to relax on a building site at times.
The hotel is wonderful, but areas of dilapidation compromised my enjoyment.
Ps, don't bring the toast with the cooked breakfast, it will be cold by the time we eat it. That's obvious. I should not have to point that out. This is not just your hotel but hotels in general. It's mental. I'm the customer, if my needs are secondary to the operational running schedule then you've forgotten why you are doing what you are doing.
I tried to get a cheese sandwich at 6pm on Sunday in the lounge but nothing was available. I had to walk through the town and the only option was a Chinese takeaway. That was disappointing.
This is feedback..like you appareny want. I really like the hotel but not everything about it is wonderful.
Staff are great. I was initially in a very cold room with no Internet. They moved mto a much nicer room without much promoting and I really appreciated that, but the first room really was dire to be honest. (Room 30).

Lovely room with everything I needed, including an amazing view of the seafront and good shower. Very friendly and helpful reception staff and wonderful chef who provided a personalised menu to cater to my dietry preferences (plant based) at late notice. So many different public spaces and lounges to suit different tastes.
My room was very hot and, with the bed right up against the radiator with no way to turn down for the heat, this made for a less comfortable sleep than I hoped for. I have-

Right on the seafront and our room 102 had a covered balcony looking over the road at the beach. Free parking on site if you are early enough and the beautiful town of Sidmouth is literally on the doorstep as you come out of the hotel steps
Not a lot it's an older hotel so the doors rattle a bit but it is well kept and classic

Breakfast very good. Room spotless. Management exceptional.
Parking very tight and food arrived as soon as it was ordered. Would have liked a short space in between ordering and arriving!

Lovely hotel with beautiful public rooms, almost wished it was raining so I could sit in and read!
Breakfast was great, though my table was right behind a door, so I felt a bit crowded. But the food was very good, the service was excellent, smiling and friendly. Really good to be in a place with good crockery and cutlery, nice white tablecloths.
The room was basic but spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and well-equipped.
Only one small thing: better blinds/curtains would keep out the sunlight in summer mornings and would also really help during heatwaves. If blackout curtains are drawn in the morning it really helps keep things cool and comfortable for arrivals.
