Great stay.

Great A/C, very nice accommodations, friendly staff. Everything you need was provided.

There was usually no one in the rental shop to return rented equipment. We had to give our equipment to a neighbor for return so we let them keep the refund money.

great, easy, snorkeling. with zero crowds

This was the perfect destination for snorkel and sea creature lovers. I absolutely loved being able to snorkel right off the hotel in the quite halfmoon bay every day instead of having to pay for Akmal bay great reefs and sea turtles to be found. also there's a cenote river at the end of the street definitely worth visiting. The room was comfortable, clean and cold a bit small and simple but that is perfect for me and it's a very pretty hotel.

it can be a little hard to get to other things like stores and such as it's a hot kinda long walk 20-35 mins. I wish the rental bikes were slightly cheaper but we made due and it wasn't a huge issue.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel and room. Loved the pool. Really good that there are bikes to rent it makes it so quick and easy to cycle to the beach or the lagoon

The beach isn’t the best right outside the hotel it’s quite narrow and rocky but still good to sunbathe.

Beautiful, calm, and quiet place to stay! Easy walk to great restaurants and activities.

The hotel location was amazing! Loved sitting on the hammock on my private patio. The hotel and bay area was very quiet, and about 10 minute walk to popular areas.

I didn’t really see any staff around. There was also a lot of construction going on.

Great location, large space for family or group

Location is excellent right on the bay, close to restaurants and activities. Easy parking right in front. Apartment had all the basics, be sure to stop at a store on your way fir coffee, tea, and food. There are small stores in town, but either very expensive or will have only small selection.

There was no one manning the office. We wanted to get beach towels, which requires a deposit of 200 mex. And rent a kayak....we went 3 days in a row in the morning and late afternoon...sign said back in 5 minutes. The cleaning staff were there every day, but they did not know anything about renting a kayak or towels. I did send a message via bookings and the response was to go to the office. On our last evening there, we did run into the manager and explained they were doing work in one of the building and he was there overseeing it. I know it is the tropics, but apartment had sugar ants and little bitting no-see ums, so bring bug spray...it is very clean and there were no roaches. The oven did not work, however we were able to use the stove top, no problem. One note on sargassum...they appear to be the only property on half moon bay that did not remove the sargassum. We were able to snorkel and go in the water by walking up several properties to where the water was clear. While we were there the govt cleared the beach and it made a huge difference! Not sure how often the government does that.

Very good

location was very good and they had an awesome pool which is located in the restaurant area next door - amazing view. was like paradise. could definitely hear ocean waves from room. at one point I thought it was going to storm and had high winds… but it was the ocean at night.

the AC was horrible. I generally don’t use AC, but being as hot as it is there, turned to 16 and still almost nothing. tip: turn fan on as soon as you walk in to get the lil bit of cold circulating. Seaweed. I get it, everyone has it. but at least try to scoop it up or make a path to access the water. I mean is t that what we are all paying for at a beach front property.

very fulfilling and satisfying.

Rooms were right on the beach. We had a total of 14 people, so with two three bedroom units we had 6 bedrooms and three bathrooms which was great for our group. All three bedrooms were very roomy.

Nice location, and view. There is fridge at the room, drinking water and cofee maker. Interior and exterior is in decent mexican style

There was big sargassum build up on the beach. But there was nothing owners could do about it. Amount of sargassum coming was just too high

Close to the beach. Nice and clean room. Superhelpfull staff. Great restaurant and poolarea.

We were aware of that there could be saragasum, but still it would have been great to be able to swim right outside hotel.

Disappointed

No front desk service, no breakfast,this is not a hotel service. There is no staff to be seen. No shampoo. Don’t like shapes with the towels! First day didn’t make the room with an unacceptable excuse that I wasn’t in the room. Beach full of sargassum, impossible to swim. Too expensive for what I got. Only one place to eat bear by.

Beautiful place, excellent location but not in march

Size of the room and location was excellent, restaurant next door was beautiful with friendly staff and you are far enough from the busy and laud playa del Carmen, snorkeling with turtles is only 10 min walk away and stunning sunrise every morning from your room.

March is the month with a lot of sea weed on the beach, this month of 2023 the amount of sea weed on the beach was very large causing smell that was unpleasant at the time,would not recommend spend March with small children, some beaches in the area had sea weed removed every morning but not at this property.

cheap, easy and accessible stay.

beautiful views of the ocean and this property was super cheap! it wasn’t (and isn’t selling itself) as a luxury property so for 1-2 nights is totally fine. clean and easy to access.

Wonderful, totally Mexican, hotel - we would stay again if the prices stayed reasonable.

the room and facilities were great - actually a 'condo' type unit - full kitchen, separate bedroom, living area and bedroom both with patio doors out to the beach. Four chairs and table on the patio plus two beach chairs and a palapa on the beach which was a few steps from the patio. We prefer the ground/beach level. There were also 2 upper floors.

When we booked breakfast was included. When we arrived we were told "we don't do that anymore". There was a restaurant about 150 m down the road which was good (The Jungle). This is the time of year for Sargassum and the beach in front was unusable because of that.

Amazing place. Great snorkeling, friendly staff, price approachable, and quiet.

Loved How close we were to the ocean and beach. It's literally right there Right outside your balcony. The Bay the hotel sits in is quiet, quaint, and has great snorkeling just outside your door. There is a great bar/restaurant with a fun vibe and good food that is 1 min walk away and is on the water. There are a few others restaurants a short distance away that we rented bikes for but they're all walkable. Akumal and this hotel is a great option for the budget friendly travelers that aren't looking for the loud music and party party party expectations of other cities. Really enjoyed our time here. Hotel staff is great too. Frederico is the to go guy and he's great to work, knowledgeable, and friendly.

The beds were a pretty stiff. The room is so close to the ocean that the waves can be loud when trying to sleep That was a con for my significant other but for me the waves lulled me to sleep on the stiffer bed.

Facilities, staff, and scenery were wonderful!

It was centralized for the activities we were interested in. Del Sol is right on the beach. It was an amazing sight to wake up to each day. The porch was an awesome place to hang out!

Enjoying the beach in beautiful Akumal right at your doorsteps

The location was great, we had direct access to the beach. We have not seen many staff, but the ones we’ve seen were very nice. The towels were shaped into swans. The balcony with the hammock was great part of the room! The restaurant La Buena Vida was located not even a minute from the hotel, great food and staff.

The floor could be a bit cleaner, not speaking about the sand or the usual dirt when you get from the beach. But there were stains on the floor that could have been cleaned by scrubbing.

Quiet & safe

The location was safe. I wish they would have adjusted the price because it went down when we got there. That was the only bad thing.

Facilities are a little worn (rusted kitchen sink & a trickle of water coming out bathroom faucets), but wasn’t looking to spend too much at the beginning of our trip so it was doable.
