The beach is stunning, the staff friendly and it was very clean and comfortable. Great selection of pools and activities.
It’s a big hotel, so expect to walk a lot (10+ min between our room and the beach). We liked the walk, but it’s not for everyone. It’s mass tourism, which led to meals and drinks being average at best (with the exception other the French restaurant). Avoid if you suffer from food allergies. We needed gluten and dairy free foods which reduced food options to omelettes, rice, chicken and fruit for the week.

Overall the resort is very beautiful. Rooms are clean and tidy and very spacious. Shuttles run every 15 mins and there is also a walking route to the beach.
The restaurants are very beautiful and all gardens are all well maintained. The buffet options are incredible. Beautiful fresh foods with a very wide selection for breakfast lunch and dinner. The price of the hotel overall was great for what you get plus being all inclusive. The beach is stunning, plenty of chairs by the beach and pool areas. The amount of pools to swim in is great! The hospitality desk for tours and transfers is very helpful! We did 2 tours from here and they were both wonderful. (Tulum tour and chichen itza deluxe)
Whilst the size of the resort is something to be admired to a degree, being so big, there's no "easy" way to get around. The shuttle buses are 15 mins apart (no issues there), however, given the large amount of guests you can quite often not get on and you have to wait for another. Walking the long distance down to the aqua park or beach can be tricky with young children being so hot (depending on where your room is) The restaurants are lovely, however, we were unable to get a booking for some of them even though we tried to organise it the day we checked in. Without a booking you can't go to some restaurants which leaves the buffet, however, on a big trip, buffets become a bit repetitive after a while.
Swim up bars/ bars at pools - there were never enough staff at any point in our day. We would wait 15 mins or more everytime for a drink, which for an all inclusive is frustrating. (Comparing to the resort we were at before sandos- also a huge resort and we would be served nearly instantly at any bar)
The doors on the rooms didn't keep out any noise unfortunately. Our room was on a walk way and we heard every person very loudly walking past at all hours (morning or night) whilst that's not the hotels fault, it's something to consider as we had a young baby that was woken a few times by loud people on the way to their rooms from the bar.
Children - you are required to pay for children from 2 years old at approx 90USD per day, however, they can't do anything. They are unable to use the kids club for any activities being that they are under 4yo. I asked upon check in if my husband or I could use the slides with our 2yo and was told "of course" but when I attempted to, the lifeguard gave a strict no which was disappointing because our baby was too small to go down herself. Felt a bit much to be charged such a high rate for food only when they can't use other equipment as such.

From beginning to end our stay was wonderful. The food and drinks were amazing. The staff was very friendly. We especially found "Victor" who took us to our room on the first night, to be helpful and was there for us through out our trip.
The lighting was pretty bad in the rooms

The beach front and the pools.
The trams and food options. Very low quality. So we snacked on fruits the entire time. You need reservations for lunch and dinner good luck trying to book. No food reservations options before arrival so you have to battle and hope there are reservations upon checking in.

Near the beach
Poor customer service, bad food, pool closing too early, restrictions on accessing beach, limited pools for children, restaurants requiring reservations but limited ability to reserve in advance.

Friendly staff
Long walk from front to back. Shuttles ran 15 minutes apart. They make you have reservations for most restaurants but when tried reserving them most of them were booked.

The whole hotel complex is very nice with a lovely beach. The rooms are comfortable, large, well equiped. The entire area has beautifully maintained greenery. I would say that this hotel could be perfect if...
The problem of the hotel is the management and its personnel. To be more precise.. The big dissapointment - I believe for almost everybody is, that after you arrive you realise, that almost half of the sunbeds/swimming pools are designated only for special club members which firstly is for extra money and secondly is for adults only. OK, there is a family part with aquapark - great, but our children are 14 and 16 and the aquapark is only for children by 12 years old... Oh.. There is no information about this fact on the web pages! The other funfact about the family part of the beach is - that unlike the exclusive club part - it does niot have any parasols, so most of the time you don't have a chance to hide in shadow - there are palms but they don't help much. We were looking forward to relax on the beach with a book, but there is no chance - too hot, loud music all the time..
Regarding the mentioned staff shortage - there are so many things, I will mention just some of them we experienced: there is a huge qeue every morning in front of restaurant for breakfast - wau - in 5star hotel? The funfact is - that at the same time the restaurant has many empty tables.. Getting water for any dish (breakfast, lunch, dinner) - is as a miracle - you can not get water yourself, you have to wait for the personnel. Unfortunately the personnel is not often able to not even provide you with cutlery, water? no way... If you have any problem with the room and call the guest service - you can do it 5, 6 times, they always assure you they will help you gladly - but nothing ever happens! Bars at the beach/swimming pool always guarantees you big queue - not only for alcohol drinks - but again for water, soft drinks as well. Beach towels are usually available only by appx 2 pm, later - no chance...
This is really not a quality of service of a 5 star hotel...

The staff were so wonderful, especially Manuel and Ramon, at the adults only pool!
The food at El Gaucho restaurant was really bad. All the other restaurants were OK to good.

The resort was very good, the food was excellent and the location was also excellent
Our room was VERY VERY poor and did not meet our expectations.
The room was old, outdated and had a musty odour
The ceiling fan did not work and the elevator was broken for our entire stay
I would rate the room at 1* or 2* at best
We were at the resort hosting a wedding - some of our guests had worse room experience than us. One guest had to request an issue to be addressed in their room 6 times and it still did not get addressed. Another guest's AC did not work for their entire stay (1 week) and the issue was not addressed
I would not recommend this resort to any of my friends based on the room we had

- The surroundings of the resort, very green and cared for;
- The beautiful beach;
- Very spacious. Although there are many people, we never felt it, given the dimension of the space and the surroundings.
- The buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner, as a lot of choise , altough it can be a little repetitive if you are staying more than 5 nights.
- Almost all the dring are served in a horrible plastic cups, even to drink at the table or at the bar.
- The drinks that are served , except the beer are almost of them are sugar and juice with poor quality alchool in it .
- To get to the "Quinta Avenida" you have to get a taxi or walk a lot.

Gourmex and the crepes were the only good food here. Fun kids pools. The beach was gorgeous. It was nice to have a shuttle. The massage and facial from Irma and Jessica were amazing.
Food was horrible.
