The accommodation was clean well presented and really comfortable. The host met us and explained where everything was. She even made us a fresh batch of scones which were delicious and a very welcome start to the holiday. The views from the cottage must be some of the best in the area and was great fun feeding the Donkey and ponies apples and carrots. We have stayed in and around Rye many times and this was without doubt the best location we've had. We will definitely return.

We loved our stay at Rose Cottage. The surrounding area is beautiful and we had lovely weather. The kids loved meeting the ponies and donkey, the dog loved the enclosed patio.

Ein Cottage, von dem man träumen kann. In schönster Landschaft gelegen, optimal für 4 Personen, unser Hund war auch willkommen.
Gute Ausstattung, liebevoll eingerichtet.
Wir kommen gerne wieder.

We had the most beautiful stay at the cottage. It was idyllic and Lynda was a charming host.
We had freshly baked cheese scones welcoming us in.
You instantly feel relaxed in the beautiful surroundings and we fell in love with George and the ponies. We are already planning our return!
Was nothing not to like!

As another visitor wrote, the photos don't do Rose Cottage justice. It is a magical place. The house is cute and comfortable. The beds are good, and the kitchen is well-equipped. We are greeted with delicious homemade scones. But what really makes Rose Cottage unique is the fact that it's surrounded by fields, with no neighbors, and that we can go and say hello to the animals - a lovely donkey and horses (shetland horses?). You feel amid a comforting and profoundly beneficial nature.
We stayed for two nights but could definitely return for longer. In any case, it's our place of choice if we're in Kent.
From Rose Cottage, it's easy to explore the region and visit Rye, Sissinghurst, Bodiam Castle, etc.
The only thing to watch out for is the stairs. As with any old house, it's steep, and there are no handrails all along. However, my 81-year-old mom had no problems, but you still have to stand on your own two feet to use these stairs.

What a great place! The cottage has everything you wish for - and more! (Like a bath!) But we especially loved the views; they’re even better than on the pictures. And our dog loved exploring the land with the horses and donkey. Lynda is a great host and we can recommend her beautiful Rose Cottage!

Rose Cottage was so lovely and in a stunning location. My friend and I enjoyed staying there and will definitely book to go again. Lynda was very welcoming and it was nice to arrive to some freshly baked scones. By far the best I have ever tasted. Thanks Lynda for making our stay so enjoyable.
There was nothing to dislike.

So pleased to have found Rose Cottage. We received a warm welcome and very tasty scones on arrival.
Beautiful surroundings and close to Rye and Camber Sands.
Highly recommend, we will definitely be back 😊

The grounds and view were amazing. The kids loved seeing the donkey and horses and did good morning and good night to them each morning and night. The cottage was cozy and we all felt very comfortable in it. The owners were also super helpful and friendly at all times
The oven wouldn’t work properly but that was literally it.

Cottage was lovely, and had lots of thoughtful touches. Fabulous view in good weather. Donkey and Shetland ponies in the field. Lots of interesting visits and good food nearby.
The farm track leading up to the farm and cottage is very rough with a high median and could be difficult for low slung cars. The heaters found it difficult to cope during an exceptionally cold period.

Tucked away in a beautiful location, this quiet & clean space was very relaxing & had everything you needed. The views from the upstairs were wonderful & the rooms spacious but cosy. The home baked cake was such a thoughtful touch ...
Nothing really ... possibly a little cold downstairs but we did choose a bitter weekend, a few more kitchen utensils ... some scales for baking, blind for kitchen to help with warmth & heavier curtains to block out light in double bedroom.

Lovely scenery and comfortable, well equipped cottage on a pretty farm. Very friendly welcome and delicious scones on arrival.

can’t say anything! all was good

Lovely quiet location with opportunity to going walking. Donkeys in the field and gorgeous view.
We were met by a very welcoming lady with the keys, she had even baked us fresh cheese scones, such a lovely personal touch.
It was perfect for 4 adults over New Year.

This quaint and cozy cottage was perfect for the two of us. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, the grounds are beautifully kept. Our thoughtful host left fresh milk in the fridge and baking which was most appreciated.
We loved our stay here and have no complaints. I would add that the lane that leads to the cottage is a bit difficult to locate. Also, be aware that the stairs to the upper floor are quite steep and may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Rose Cottage is set in the most beautiful location with a spectacular view over Romney Marsh. The property is quiet, peaceful, well equipped and spacious. Car parking is perfect with easy access to the cottage. There was a basket of freshly baked cheese scones and milk in the fridge to welcome us. The proprietor was extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit and eat for those unfamiliar with the area.
I do not feel that there is anything that I could write here. The Cottage is beautiful and the proprietor kind and helpful. Perhaps a note of warning - you do need full details from the proprietor to ensure that you have directions to the Cottage - without them it is very difficult to find. This was my fault as I had not picked them up from Booking.com.
My other suggestions would be a nightlight at the top of the stairs as it is pitch black at night if you need to use the bathroom. The stairs are quite steep and ‘open’ - perhaps a better stair rail might give more security particularly when carrying luggage and lastly - possibly it is time to change the mattress in the main bedroom?

Location was excellent, being nice and quiet. It was also close to several good pubs for food as well as interesting places to visit to look around, eg: Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, Bodiam Castle, Tenterden. Our host, Lynda, was very kind and welcoming.
4.9
It was so easy to relax and unwind in the peaceful, tranquil, location. The cottage was delightful and had everything we needed, including a well stocked kitchen and some excellent books about the rich history of the local area. We were able to explore nearby Rye with ease as well as venturing into Romney marsh on our road bike.
Nothing of any significance.

We liked everything. The cake on arrival, the milk in the fridge, the little cereal packets for our grandson. The view was outstanding and the living room and beds extremely comfortable. There are ponies and a donkey we were able to feed in the evening. There was lots of space to run around for children.
Nothing.
You do need a car as the cottage is isolated..
I personally would have preferred darker curtains or blinds but really that is just a small quibble.

Great Cottage with unbelievable views in a good location. Cottage had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. Have already recommended to friends. Our host was extremely welcoming and helpful.

An amazing host whose objective is to make one's stay perfect - this is unusual these days and is much appreciated.
Every last detail had been considered.
Unfortunately I left my passport behind but Lynda posted it to me very swiftly !
A super great service !!!
The big surprise was the views from the cottage - absolutely amazing and extremely beautiful.
We felt like staying there all day to enjoy it, but the trips into Rye and other local places of interest were short and convenient.
Nothing.

The cottage is comfortable and in an excellent location for exploring the beautiful area.
The views from the cottage are beautiful green hills and fields, with lovely horses and a beautiful donkey
I can't think of anything.

Really beautiful location, perfect for the things we wanted to do. Very quiet, fabulous views.
Maybe could have had some thicker curtains in the main bedroom, but we are used to blackout.
4.9
Lovely setting for a long weekend away. Great views of The Rother, snaking across the landscape. Well enough equipped, comfortable with a definite family cottage feel. 10 minute drive in to Rye. The host was very friendly and approachable. Watching the animals was a joy, especially George the Donkey!
Taxi's definitely need to be pre booked, well in advance, especially for return trip back at night.
