Good location and nearby to plenty of food options. Reasonably easy to find. The young staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived.
Breakfast was included and very good. Freshly cooked and prepared for you with options. Size of the room was good.
Unfortunately the room we stayed in the Deluxe with mountain views was in need of some refurbishment. Having stayed in many riads we know what to expect. A good coat of paint, new linen and towels would make a lot of difference. Sheets were stained, and very very thin. As for the plumbing the sink wouldn’t drain and then shower had no pressure.
The other disappointment was I had pre arranged a taxi to take us to Tangier Med, even though I confirmed this it didn’t turn up at 7 am. Despite believing there was always someone in the Riad to help we buzzed and buzzed for nearly an hour. If it wasn’t for the cleaner turning up situation would have been even worse. When a taxi finally turned up he was clearly unhappy about driving us to the port and was very agitated. He took several wrong turns during the 2 1/2 hour trip. We of course missed the ferry and had to rebook our tickets luckily there were more services that afternoon. We were on a tight timeframe so this was far from suitable.

Perfect! Breakfast was truly exceptional, which included bread, pancakes, eggs, fruits, juice and mint tea. View from terrace is also remarkable with aesthetic setting. The room is clean and new, with provided shampoo and body wash of good quality. Best of all is the service - complimentary beverages were offered many times and we felt the kindness and hospitality overflowing. Would go again 10/10
Nothing was bad

Fica no centro da Cidade com uma vista fenomenal, atendimento muito simpático, muito limpo, bem decorado com peças lindas. ficamos no quarto pequeno mas tina uma vista para as montanhas soberba! recomendamos!

Super vriendelijk personeel en ontzettend uitgebreid, heerlijk ontbijt!
De badkamer had schoner gekund.

This hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Kasbah and easy to locate with their sign! The Kasbah is filled with food, stores, gifts, drinks and so much more. Definitely will rebook in the future.
There was nothing that could have been done better - Dar ELRIO exceeded my expectations.

Tout c'est bien passé, personnel agréable, chambre très bien équipée et jolie, vue sur le torrent, emplacement parfait et petit déjeuner très copieux.
La pluie mais c'est pas de chance !

Fantastic breakfast, super modern room, amazing views and brilliant staff.

Nice place that is decorated well and very welcoming. Good views. Excellent staff. Yummy mint ice tea. Fabulous breakfast.
Everything is pretty good. The bathroom gets hot so it stinks a little. Rest of our room was nicely air conditioned. This is pretty much to be expected in any authentic Riad. If you can’t take that then find a five star hotel.
4.7
Beautiful views, totally chic design inside, and staff that would do anything to make you happy
Only reason “comfort” isn’t a 10 is because the TV/fire stick didn’t allow us to actually watch anything (can’t login with one’s own account)

One of our best stays of 10 days in marocco. Really friendly hosts & very unique accomodation. loved the vibe, the view and the people.
some of the bathroom facilities (showerhead for example) need some fixing. they are usable, but have some leaks or don’t work 100%.

The manager Is simply Amazing! Loved everything, just book this place!

The location was excellent, food very good and the staff were helpful and thoughtful.
The shower floor was disgusting and there was a smell of sewage everywhere.
4.7
Awesome location with comfy bedrooms in the local vibe. Staff was super nice as well! We really enjoyed our stay here.

Got free upgrade to deluxe suit, what a surprise. Amazing room deco with great view of river and Spanish Mosque. Breakfast was lovely, staff were very friendly. Good location, less than 10 minutes walk to the square, quiet in the night. Also at the main road, easy to get here by taxi. Beautiful blue village, beautiful hotel and so friendly people. love everything here :)
Nothing.

The hotel is very nice, trying to be original with decoration.
Well located.
Beautiful breakfast on terrace, very welcoming staff.
Lots of stairs, careful with big suitcases.
Quite expensive for the quality of rooms in Morocco, but maybe it is the price in Chefchaouen, which is blooming as an "Instagram" destination.
The view is nice but decreasing as buildings are under construction all around...
4.7
The location, the Riad can be access by a car to drop the luggage
The shower floor is made of natural wood that doesn’t drain easily
4.7
quiet place To stay near the river. great position since it’s in the Medina but It also have parking spots if you arrive by car. good and generous breakfast on the nice terrace
little problems with english language, bathroom could be more organised

We booked the smallest room which is situated next to the reception table. The space for suitcase was very limited however it does not bother us at all. The room was very cute and comfortable, read some reviews about noise from the reception but we did not have that problem at all. There is a lot of sockets in the room and lightings were great. Netflix and amazon videos were provided on the TV and you get a small fridge too. We get a lovely view while lying in the bed and there is a wooden blind outside the window which can be controlled by switches next to the bed. Wifi was great as there were extension all the way up to the terrace.
We had a lovely breakfast on the terrace and the staff were kind and attentive. Yes, there are construction on the mountain opposite the hotel and also next to it at the moment. So please be aware if you are someone who are very particular about this kind of thing. We had a wonderful time staying there and the value of that small room was definitely worth it. It was situated at a good location too as Chefchaouen itself is not too big at all.

The staff were very welcoming, especially Mohammed. Very welcoming and made us lots of tea and provided with fantastic breakfast. The hotel itself was superiorly decorated and had a lot of decor and cool memorabilia.
The pictures of the room were not indicative of how small the room were. I also think the room was a bathroom previously that had been converted into a small living space. While cozy, I think it should have been said that this room was very small. The view is also now obscured by construction.

Really great location. Only a few min walk from the medina, 5 min drive from bus station, about 20 min walk up to spanish mosque. Lovely balcony where you can see the sunset!
Super cosy cabin vibe, perfect for 2 night stay!
Really delicious breakfast! We had to leave at 0620 in the morning and the night staff insisted on getting up to make us breakfast before we left, this was extremely kind of him and we really really appreciated it, no where else had done this for us before! Such a lovely man. Thank you. Would 100% stay here again.
The only downside was that the shower head wouldn't fit into the wall bracket to stay up!

• Mohammed and all on site staff were very accommodating, kind, generous and courteous
• As we arrived to Chefchaouen quite late into the night, Mohammad was kinda enough to collect us from the CTM station
• Room matched images: We booked room with river and Mountain View and it did not disappoint!
• Room was very clean and equipped with toiletries and towels
• Ambience of the hotel was lovely! Art, music, and peaceful. There’s a cool relaxing area with some books and board games / cards which was fun to play
• Location: Easy to access Spanish mosque, medina, new town, surrounding hiking areas etc. Lots of restaurants and snack shops within a few mins walking
• Pricing of hotel - Awesome value for money!
• Water pressure in shower was great!
• Room has heating and heater in AC - This was great as Chefchaouen was cold during our visit
• Hot chocolate was awesome!
• Breakfast was yummy! And it’s lovely that this can be served in the bedroom.
• We experienced a city-wide water shortage in Chefchaouen! I was told that this was a city wide issue as there was work going on in the Medina. This was out of the hotels control, but Mohammad and team did their best to accommodate and supply water for showering. After some Googling of water shortages in Chefchaouen, I also found out that there can be a common occurrence in the city? So be cautious of this and prepared! As mentioned, our hosts did their best to help and we truly appreciated it ❤️
• Bedding / duvet was slightly thinner than what we’re used to. And in a colder climate, a thicker duvet would have been better

Staff were very helpful. Managed to get some laundry done. Breakfasts were good. Our room was great - a sitting area separate from the bedroom. Beds were comfortable.
Can't think of anything.

I loved the location, the staff was very friendly and the riad had a great ambiance and was very clean
nothing, everything was good

The staff was very nice and close to the main attraction of the town. A nice breakfast.
Our room was not what was published on the website. A bit shabby. The shower has a wood rotting base that is questionable and the toilet was crooked. I did peek in the other rooms which looked more updated. There was wet blue paint in front of the outside doorway which got all over our luggage, pants, and shoes. the mountain view is littered with trash. The town is also dry which is not published so bring your own wine. There is one place in town where you can purchase though. Having traveled extensively, this was disappointing given we drove 9 hours from Marrakech. We paid 339 Euros for two nights. I wanted to love it based on all the reviews,

The hotel is very well located and has an unique charm to it. We stayed in a room that had a special feeling of a tree house, it is small, yet cozy and with nice views to the mountains. the staff is super friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay there again!

Location, terrace, suite, view, breakfast, hospitality
4.7
It was something different than staying in typical riads but in a good way. Waking up to the beautiful view of the stream and Spanish mosque was amazing.
There is no private parking, you need to park 50m further on the street but the parking is guarded (20 dirham per night) so it wasn’t a problem. I also didn’t get any response for my question from the host both on booking.com and WhatsApp.
4.7
Thoughtfully decorated, incredibly kind staff, perfectly balanced mint tea whenever wherever, and delicious breakfast with fresh bread, yogurt, and omelet. The room itself is the perfect blend of tradition and chic design; both the room and the terrace offer perfect view of the mountains above and the cascade below. The staff were attentative, helpful, and incredibly kind. The tranquility is unmatched at Dar Elrio.
A few flies and bugs, but you really can't complain about those in the mountains by the river.
4.7
Super clean and comfortable. Staff is incredible. I loved sleeping next to the sound of the river and waking up to a rooster :) Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!
nothing - everything was great!
4.7
Very lovely decoration throughout with a fantastic view from the terrace. Very friendly, helpful staff. Thank you for looking after us so well, even providing plates and cutlery in the rooms and ordering us take away, and doing some washing for us. Amazing! A short trot upstream from the hotel is an amazing waterfall walk with a cafe next to the river and chance to talk with the locals who are doing their washing there. You can double back on yourself and amble back through the beautiful blue streets on the opposite side of the ravine. The village is absolutely wonderful. Felt so at home, taking some fab pics, sitting watching the world go by in the main squares, visiting the Kasbah, and spent time at the Cafe Clock with staff, locals and a lovely American lady watching Morocco progress to the World Cup quarter finals. Then celebrations in the main square! Perfect day!

Amazing staff. They upgraded to a suite free of charge on arrival. Location is very good, close to the main square.
