The location was nice.Nice view, cool place to refresh and regroup..Nice breakfast
Dusty furnitures at the restaurant...

Also Ohropax einpacken! Wenn man ruhige Tage möchte, ist es dafür zu laut!
Toilette ist nicht wirklich gut vom Zimmer abgetrennt, also mit jemanden ins Zimmer, bei dem es nicht stört, ist Pflicht ;)

Nice and leafy area east of Arusha. Room feeling like flying over the city
Very slow service
Very noisy early morning
Room could use a refurbishment
No door knob so one need to unlock each time
3.9
Room: mosquito net had 4 huge holes (>10cm); we had a TC remote, but no TV; toilet door only locked from the outside...
Very noisy at night and in the mornings as the rooms are looking to the valey and amplifies the sound. Mosque wakes you up at 5am with the prayer call. Again at 5:30.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
No value for our money at all.

Location was amazing a slice of paradise in busy Arusha. The view from the rooms were stunning. The property had amazing gardens teaming with wildlife. Birds and butterfly's were stunning. All the staff couldn't do enough for you. The food was brilliant.
The track up to the property need serious attention. Tea and coffee should be complementary and self service.
3.9
location and setting
the water pressure in the shower was very poor and the water temperature was difficult to maintain.
3.9
The lush greenery of the setting and the views
Exceptionally noisy, we went to relax but there was no relaxing atmosphere at all. The village below has a bar or club that plays the loudest music until the early hours of the morning. We kept asking the staff during the day about the noise but they were very reluctant to say a time it ended, I think because they know it doesn't end and is like this every weekend. Twinned with monkey's fighting and noises from the insects all night there was very little sleep had.
The breakfast was poor and the coffee was terrible.
No hot water in the shower even though they say to turn on the hot tap to the maximum it has hot water for all of 5 seconds.
This place has so much potential as the views and gardens are stunning, so disappointed.

Amazing balcony views, very spacious rooms

Nice view
We arrived at Karama Lodge after a safari and just wanted to shower and have a good sleep.
They told us to wait 3 minutes to have hot water but after 20 minutes the water was still freezing cold so we went to the reception. They said they fixed something and that we should wait another 20minutes… in total we waited more than 1h30 and went to the reception 3 times before they offered us to change room….
It was 8:45pm when we changed room (we were supposed to have dinner at 8 and wanted to go to bed by 9 because we had to wake up early). We were so cold and could not even have a hair dryer.
I told them I was not even hungry anymore and a guy told us the meal was going to be free. So we ate and had a drink (the $8 margarita was disgusting and they said they didn't have cider although they had).
The day after, we were surprised to learn we had to pay another $41 although we had understood the meal was free.
Plus, they gave me food with gluten (although I had specifically said I was allergic).
Some employees are not nice (only people we met in Tanzania who were not welcoming), especially the lady at the reception.

the place was nice and quite special but we lived on the hill with a view into the valey so unfortunatly there was a lot of noice and loud music - bass noise coming from down there - which is not for us who like quiteness.

Great lodge with lovely cabins. The cabins are basic but good and the view is wondeful.
The staff is very friendly and helpfull.
The bed was a bit short so my feet were sticking out (I am 1,8m). Not a big deal but might be good to know.

The surroundings were amazing, lovely cabins with balconies with lovely views. The food was good, a small menu that was changed regularly and had lovely fresh fruit and vegetables. It was really nice to have local food - African not European. The pool was nice. The hotel arranged some good visits for us - expensive but definitely worth doing. We stayed a few days and were made to feel like it was a home from home. A place with lots of character that I would definitely go to again.
The wi-fi was occasionally a bit sporadic.

Breakfast was fantastic

Beautiful view of Meru Mountain
Firstly, when we arrived, we were told that we had only booked for two adults. We had clearly booked for the family (with 2 children) but they could not see it. They wanted us to redo the booking and it was too late or pay for a second room. Finally after a lot of discussion they let us stay in the room. The family was tired and it was unnecessary waiting. Also the road getting to Karama Lodge is horrible. It was not easy for the vehicle to get up the hill (road all broken).

The location is nice and tropical.
It is very difficult to get up to the Lodge. The road is rocky and muddy. If you ask them to call you a driver, the Lodge charged 10 dollar to go to town. It's way overpriced. Like most things at the lodge.
I was also super disappointed with the customer friendliness. We gave cloths to the laundry and received them back in a worse state. The buttons were ripped off and the shirt was shrunk. Also ironing was part of the cost and was not done.
When saying at the reception that is not a service we want to pay for, because we incure more costs to replace the cloth, they still made us pay for it. Saying the manager did not approve and otherwise she has to pay it herself.
For the cost of the accommodation, the service level was not appropriate.
I never have experienced a hotel service where we were forced to pay for something that has obviously damaged our things.
Although the location and the Lodge itself is very nice, I can not recommend it based on my experience.

Food was good, the view is breathtaking.
One employee to do front desk, service in the restaurant and everything else. A bit slow...

Dinner was tasty but small quantities and overpriced for Arusha.
We had many lizards in our room because the main doors did not close properly and the screen door was broken. We had to ask for a new room multiple times before they agreed. The website advertises yoga classes 3 times a week. There was no yoga, the yoga room was full of dust and old furniture.
Breakfast often seemed like parts were stale leftovers (chewy pancakes and toast). The staff did not speak English very well, so were not able to answer questions. The wifi only worked periodically and we had cold showers some nights because there was no hot water.
The tours are arranged through cultural tourism which seems to mean that they make arrangements with locals to give the tours. It's really nice in theory but the tour ends up being nothing as advertised. We were taken through a bush instead of the proper entrance to the mount meru waterfall hike (I imagine so that they could avoid paying entrance fees) but we left with rashes all over our legs from plants that they hadn't even mentioned were poisonous. The tour guides don't have discretion over what is and isn't safe for tourists - DO NOT go to any local bars on the hillside. It was a terrible and frightening experience and we got really bad gastro after a single sip of their beer (which we stupidly tasted just to be polite).
Overall the place is very old and run down and I would not recommend it.

Very nice rooms and atmosphere, nice garden and pool area.
The staff were a bit lazy, but they were sweet. The food was not impressing.
3.9
The location is nice, the staff is attentive, views are great!
They overcharged us on the airport pickup which we only realized after the fact - communicating 30 USD in advance & charging us more than double

Staff is very friendly and helpfull.
Good place to stay if you plan to climb mount Meru or/KILIMANJARO.
Hotel provides guides and organisation for Safaris and trekkings for good money/value, ask for Amos (trekkings) and Wilson (Safaris), highly recommended!
Breakfast is great, fresh and complete!
View is amazing!
Bed is kind of hard.
Pool is ok, does the job.
Despite the isolation on the hill in the woods and the vegetation, there was a lot of sounds, music and other noises coming from the valley from 7am until 10pm and sometimes later, during the weekend but also during the week...this is nothing the hotel can do something about unfortunately but it is something to take into account if you are a light sleeper.
The hotel on the other hand is really peacefull...
We stayed in 2 different rooms/huts and not all the huts are equal, especially in terms of comfort (maybe old huts vs new huts?). Older huts could use a small lifting (bathroom and finitions)
Breakfast was great, but not enough variety for dinner. . Maybe this situation can be explained due to Covid and low occupancy rates? Needs to/ should be improved in my opinion. The food on the other hand was great.
I'm tall (2m) and the bed was not long enough for tall people like me (can happen). Just ask the hotel to make sure the bed in your hut is suitable for you. They arrange it for me on my second stay with a bed with an open space for the feet! '

Accommodation is surrounding with very nicely garden. A lot of flowers and greenery.
The hotel is located at the end of a very bad path almost in the middle of nowhere. A bottle of water costs 3 USD.

Karama Lodge is a beautiful place to stay! The stilted "yurt-like" villas have beautiful views of Arusha and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. The staff was the best part though!
The dirt road to the lodge is very steep and bumpy, but once you arrive through the gates, it is luxurious. You can't easily access the town on your own, but the staff can arrange transport.
3.9
The landscapes and view are breathtaking. It feels like living in the rainforest with monkeys visiting our balcony.
The staff are friendly and the service was good.
Room service was impeccable (the lady who made the room was extremely nice).
It is clearly overpriced. WiFi didn't work in our lodge and I had to ask for an access point which only worked for 24 hours and they took it away. I wouldn't have stayed for 5 nights if I knew the price of food at the restaurant and the state of the road leading to and around the lodge. Making it very hard to go for any other option.
Bathrooms are small and the smell from the focet was hard to get rid if . Not as comfortable as one would expect at this price.
Noise from the village nearby makes it very hard to sleep unless you're really tired.
3.9
Very nice and quiet location at the outskirts of Arusha. The view on Mount Meru from the beautiful pool is fantastic. The rooms are absolutely great, fabulous view from the balcony. You can get driven and picked up in Arusha centre by a driver from the lodge which was a great service.
Be prepared to have a cold shower when it is cloudy in the "winter" months (Jun/Jul), was the water is heated with a solar system (but actually this is a noice ecological feature of the lodge).

It's a beautiful place, big room and i really liked the balcony.
There was no hot water in the evening
3.9
Great balcony, private rooms, lovely gardens, monkeys came to visit! Felt a long way from the city but so close to town.
Perhaps a more expansive menu
3.9
I loved that location. It is on the side of a mountain and is just so beautiful. The staff is so friendly.
Wish there were more options for breakfast.

The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was full and of good quality
There was no hot water when we arrived after a long trip.
The electricity was cut for a while
