+ Sehr sauber

Its in the village a bit up hill with an amazing backdrop of mountains. Everything was clean, showers were warm and handy after a day of outdoors and walking. There is also a shared sitting area which was good to lounge in.

The location of the guesthouse was great, the family very nice and the facilities very clean. You can eat very delicious food in their Restaurant Stumari. They organized a taxi back to Mestia together with other guests. In the end it was as expensive as taking the marshrutka. For us it was perfect, since we ran out of cash (there is no bank or ATM in Ushguli) and we could pay them when we arrived in Mestia.
There was only one electrical outlet in the room. A table beneath it would be good so you can place your phone somewhere while charging.

The hosts are amazing! Welcoming and helpful, I would definitely go back to stay at their place. The hostel owners also have their restaurant nearby which is quite good for arranging food during the trip.
The facilities are quite basic, however enough to spend couple of days at the authentic village environment in the mountainous part of Georgia. Also having a bit more local decorations would be nice in the rooms.

The guest house's location is excellent and the owners are very kind and helpful. But they don't speak English. If you know some Russian, it will help to communicate. The rooms are very simple (imagine a comfortable hostel) but it is totally ok because the main thing to do in Ushgully is go for walks and be outside. All you need after that is a hot shower and bed. And that you can have at the place.
The main problem for me was that we did not understand about pricing for breakfast and dinner. The owners have changed their policy about breakfast- it is not included in the room price and you don't not how much did it cost before paying. The same about a dinner. There are 2 shared showers for several (I think 8) rooms. While we were there one was broken.

The daughter speaks good English and is very kind.
The beds are old and not in great shape.

The owner lady was so helpful and accommodating. She speaks limited words of English and I know nothing more than just "Gamarjoba" and "Madloba" but we managed to get by even with some small talks with the help of Google translate. She also gave me an extra blanket and explained how things work around the house, and prepared breakfast for me. Feel like staying in my grandma's home as she ensures I'm well-taken care of. Very warm hospitality despite the very cold weather. The room is clean and spacios.
None that I can think of.

Very friendly and funny owner. She speaks very little English but she tries to communicate. We did horse trekking to Shkhara Glacier with her son and it was one of the best experiences ever! Highly recommend.

Guest house Riho is the best. You feel very welcome, your host Natali will take care of you very well. She is a great cook, we were totally full after every dinner and breakfast. The room exceeded our expectation, the bed was really soft. The guest house has also two terraces with a view to Usghuli which is a nice plus.

Riho Hotel is situated in the last, higher Ushguli settlements, right under the church on the hill - Right at the start for a Shkara hike.
The rooms are spacious and clean, the food is excellent and more than plenty. The lovely host family made my stay just perfect!
If you go there by car, take the road left at the end of the village leading up to the hill church, before the hill turn left again. Otherwise the village paths are too narrow.
Was a wonderful stay!

I loved everything about my stay at Riho in Ushguli. The hosts were super nice - the check in was super easy and pleasant, they gave us an early check in. Rooms are of decent size and very clean! The entire family was accommodating and caring. I felt like I was part of the family. One of the family members, who is normally based in Tbilisi but spends his summers in Ushguli, offered us a free tour to local sites, told us stories about Ushguli, and the Lamaria Church where King (or Queen) Tamar had gotten married in the 12th century. He also offered us free horse back riding tour. The breakfast was delicious, especially home made pancakes and corn bread with cheese which was exceptional. The location was perfect for us - we wanted to stay a bit away from the village buzz, so it is one of the farthest out home stays in Ushguli, very close to Lamaria Church. But again, Ushguli is tiny - so everything, including the 'buzz' places is within 5-15 minutes walk. The hosts gave us a great recommendation for the dinner too. In short, I wish I could have stayed longer and explored more!
There are no private bathrooms. But the common areas and bathrooms are extremely well kept and clean. I did not feel much discomfort because of that. Plus, stunning views and incredible hospitality take all of your concerns away!
3.1
Hosts are nice and kind but business oriented.
Average by Ushguli's low standards, but poor compared to other guesthouses in Georgia. A newer cheaply built place made if wood, which is very noisy. They prepare the standard breakfast of stale bread and boiled eggs the night before. Poor interior lighting was not even strong enough to read a book. It wasn't a warm and friendly atmosphere, but as with all of Ushguli, it's about the money!
