Oh my word, this little gem is heaven on earth. Rustic, it took me back to my childhood. Cecilia and her husband were really helpful. Absolutely breathtaking views and sooo peaceful
Thank you so much for this wonderful experience

The quietness away from the city life. Hearing only the voices of nature.
Personally I would have preferred electricity for the lights only

When you look for Pet Friendly breaks then it should really be PET FRIENDLY! When our dog was attacked by the free roaming Zebra, and I reported it to the hostess, she replied that she did me a favour for allowing pets! This after advertising facility as pet friendly and confirming it in messaging as well.
Arriving at a cottage which hasn’t been serviced for some time! Dirty, musky smells from being closed for days since previous occupants left, had my wife in allergic reactions as she had to keep our dogs safe inside away from the Zombie killer Zebra, whilst I had to drive several kilometers for signal to contact owners and asked what the hell is going on?! Only to be told that they were out of town and had personal family crisis and wasn’t able to attend to cottage management in person and that there was as miscommunication?! This for a booking made four days prior to our arrival? I have sympathy for personal tragedies, but then if you cannot manage your property in your absence, make it unavailable! Do not have guests make arrangements, purchase luxuries for a stress-free weekend away, drive a considerable distance to your remote cottage only to have traumatic experience in first five minutes of arrival!

Well furnished, accommodating hosts, great walking trails with wild animals. Starry skies were a treat and with the gas stove, fridge and shower I never missed the electricity. Wifi was adequate for messaging, streaming and video calls at most times. Perfect for a self-retreat.

The cottage is beautiful and quaint. It came with a bull in the front yard. The views are terrific, Anton the host is very friendly and helpful
There is NO electricity so bring your devices powered up. Everything else is great

Loved the peace and quite.. off the grid feeling was nice. The wild animals were lovely to see , the river kayaking was amazing and so lovely that it was available for free. Pet friendly and that sweet cow visiting us everyday. Just 20km from Arniston Beach!
the ticks and brown water from the taps

The location is perfect and the facilities were easy to use. The place has no electricity and you can completely immerse yourself in the moment. No outside contact. There is plenty of wood available for use.
The fireplace and the donkey boiler still had ash so we had to clean that out. Safer to bring your own match boxes for the fire and shower gel or bath soap.

What a lovely place to just switch off, sit back and enjoy. Beautiful charming setup and they had little extras in case you forgot something. Definitely doing it again

Perfect, out of the way location, with a view to die for. Though off the grid, the cottage is simple yet stylish with every amenity one would expect from a farm stay getaway. Plenty of space for my dog to roam and run within sight of the spacious front stoep. Loved it!
I liked everything.

Liked the remoteness and off the grid living. Cottage well equipped
Should have been specific instructions about the donkey boiler. We ended up with cold water shower because after an hour water had not got warm. Not sure what we did wrong

Old Sam met our need to be in a peaceful and tranquil environment
The facilities in the cottage were fine and usable
Saying that it is a river view one expects to see water and not have to walk 250m to see the water
The kayak and lifejackets are left in the sun and are dirty and I would not put it on
The fireplace was dirty on our arrival
The donki that warms your water is rusting and the water in the shower is brown and full of mud and rust, awful
The picnic area down at the river is dirty and the area itself needs some TLC
