We suggest that it is much more better if you have television for entertainment of the guest.

Pretty meh kinda place, so, didn't like anything in particular. That being said, it's not that the place is bad, there's just nothing decent/notable about this accommodation compared to the many other places I've stayed at in Japan.

Clean comfortable stay
There was some confusion regarding check in. But the owner apologised by bringing all the guests food!

very spacious since there are only 2 of us. could fit 6-10 more pax. The tatami bedroom is quite comfortable for us. there’s also an izakaya place in the first floor of the building with other nearby restaurants and konbinis.
had a bit of a challenge checking in since the owner won’t meet with you. we need to call first and talk with our minimal japanese before we can understand the process of getting inside. also adding the fact that the unit is in the third floor and we just came from cycling biwako. It might help if they can provide a step by step process beforehand since it is technically a self-checkin type of a property.

Fortunately, I was alone in the guest house so I haven't to deal with other people. For my purpose, the location was good. The showers are nice, but they don't provide towels (so be aware of this).
The common room is really small, and I don't understand how it is possible to sell it for up to six people. In some beds, you can't isolate yourself from the light of the room (that is to say, there is a light just over your bed...).
The beds aren't comfortable at all, they are just a piece of wood with the cheapest futon possible (5cm high at most). So don't expect a comfy bed!
The restaurant below the men dormitory makes noise until midnight. It's a problem for people with sleeping trouble.

Easy access and there's cheap parking nearby that is around 800 to 900 yen. The owner is very helpful and the check-in is easy. The toilet and bathrooms are clean, and the dining area is very convenient for a fast breakfast before heading out to start the day.
The interior is a little dusty, and spiders are crawling. One of the upper bunk beds is placed directly under the air-conditioning, making it a little uncomfortable. Other than that, the room was fine.

Price was low for the facilities and quality of stay.
Bad sound resistance. I happened to have a family from France stay with me and their children were extremely noisy in the morning and the walls and doors did not do a good job keeping those sounds out.

Great location, very near the train station. Ms Hana was super nice and helpful too. The sleeping arrangements were comfortable and cozy. WiFi was pretty good. The accomodations had a shared dining table, washing machine, microwave, kettle, etc. Very convenient.
It could have been a bit cleaner (the sink was a bit dirty and the rubbish bins were not cleared when I came to stay).

Clean, convenient and good location, close from Otsu canal and temples. Holder friendly.
Cold place, no heater ! No office, so I had to arrange a meeting with the holder to pay, not very convenient.

Central location. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were reasonably clean.
Office space converted to a dormitory. Ok for backpackers, but not for a pleasant stay.

The hostel is quite small but is very clean and has everything you need including kettle, microwave , washing machine and tea/coffee facilities. Great access to both JR and Keihan train stations which made sight-seeing really easy. The owner was super helpful and happy to answer any questions and also responded to messages through booking.com in a timely manner. She also has a little cafe/pork bun shop in the nearby shopping mall which is super cute and worth asking her about so you can go and check it out!
